how do ya get the best start off the line, is it better to rev it or hold it at certain revs or just rev the tits off it:crazy:

i tried searching but absolutely nothing relevant comes up

I'm wondering about this too I can never jump off the line like some guys do. I think it's definitely something with throttle control.

Try it in the stopping distance licence tests and compare different tactics to your ghosts.
Flooring it always seems to give the best results, sadly.

Start with flooring then control the wheel spin with the throttle seems to be a decent technique.

Torque graphic on the adjustment screen also helps on some cars, rev the car up to the torque peak and control wheel spin then.

There are lots of variables. Is your car FWD, RWD, 4WD? Where's the engine? Is the track dry or wet, or are you on dirt or snow? What kind of tires are you running? What kind of assists are you running? If you are running any traction control, you can basically floor it, the computers will do the work. If you are running no traction control, then you have to weigh all those variables.

The individual car will make a difference too. When running no traction control, I'd say start by flooring the pedal, and if the wheels spin, try again at 1000rpm less. Until you seem to get a good amount of grip off the start, fine tune it even more if you can.

In all the rallies I do I find that as the green light turns I slam the gas so I'm revved halfway once I leave the line then I shift into second. Not sure how that could apply to paved starts tho, or if it's even faster it feels faster tho. Plus shifting is easier.
