Haven't touched the wheel in six months and I'm so rusty it's not even funny. Downloaded Zkippe's ghost and I'm a second behind after four corners. I'm not even sure that I will manage a sub 2'20.

Well I gave up on the GT series after GT5 as I found they lost the 'fun' aspect. I am considering giving GT6 a go though and downloaded the demo yesterday.

I manage to get silver trophy times but nowhere near gold or the top ranked players.

Are the top ranked players setting the fastest times usually using a pad, because I use a wheel?

And I though smooth driving was the way to go, but when you watch the replays of the top ranked players, they are almost drifting around corners but setting blistering times lol

Oh and what about driver aids? I don't use any, but do the top time setter use them? Wondering what the criteria is for choosing a winner when some people use aids, some don't and others use pads and other use wheels.

You can find all that information by clicking on the players' names.

Is it possible to view the split times when watching a replay?

Hi "WOT",
with a wheel, you are definitely on the right side. Playing with a pad is a great disadvantage.

If you are not fast enough for gold it just means that you have to practice more (or you are not fast enough in every way). (I don´t want to be rude!)

On the leaderboard f.e. you can see if and what aids every player uses.

LEADERBOARD ... example germany

PS: I see... heaving a job isn´t helping if you are looking for a good result... since I´m at work, I dropped from 30 to 49 :nervous:

PPS: I hate Copse... every time I take this corner its in a different way

Im slow as crap lol. Force feedback so strong to me now after racing on iracing.for last month amd a half. Gonna take some.getting.used to best I ran so far is a 2:20.5xx : (

I hear ya. I did about 10 laps chasings mavericks ghost of a high 2.18. I had pace for that and then some but kept getting red for chopping a curb somewhere. Is it me or does the car feel like a hovercraft with no connection to the road? Long story short after 10 laps I turned my pc on and went real racing. Well kinda real.

That's 'cause the road is modeled super smooth, too smooth. Always a problem with GT.

If we had a proper surface (laser scan), the physics would really come out a lot more.

But you can kind of feel what I mean right now, just try driving over some of the more bumpy grass terrain.

Yeah i get what your saying. I try to avoid the grass though.

lol, you were probably already gonna make this video, but I'm gonna go ahead and pretend this was a result of me asking you to do it :D:tup:

Nice one!

I always used power steering, and had FFB at 2 or 3, probably 2 for this case.

But yeah, definitely simulation steering, all aids off ABS @ 1, bread and butter standard stuff.

Simulation mode dint do anything unless 200degree or less. I dnt like powersteering as to twitchy and not as smooth inputs.

Also sucks its in mph i want kmh....not used to mph..

Good driving spurgy..

Does anybody have any tips for Luffield and Stowe? I lose bags of time through there, probably half a second. Otherwise, I would be in the 2:18s

I went to download zkippe's ghost for practice 2 and I don't think this was supposed to happen

Now THAT's an endurance race.

EDIT: After some maths, the elevation change is about 41,600 miles.

So, do you guys think we will see the times improve during the next 25 days or will they plateau some time?

Is the 370z on silverston full course or is there more for countrys eligible to compete or do the top guys from this event go further? I'm from nz so just curious is it just a practice race and eligible can do more?

At the moment I would say Ti-tech has about 2-3 tenths lying around, probably a little more than that even, IMO. As for the cut off, it will probably come down quite a bit over the next two weeks, but by week 3 or 4 I think it will have levelled out.

How are you doing in it all spurgy?

I'm having flashbacks to the John deere's @ indy road course for the previous GT Academy qualifier.

Is it just me or is there some sort of TCS enabled even with all the aids off? I notice the bar next to the throttle is activated when going through corners as if TCS is on, but I've turned everything off. Still trying to relearn this course after not racing on it for years in forza 2. But from what I remember it seems like this is a slightly different layout

Going by GT Academy and the demo I don't think I will be purchasing GT6. Can't believe drifting is the quickest way round the track. :yuck:
