Hi all,

To all the Pad users out there, I'm no expert but I reckon that there will be a slight latency/lag when using a wireless/Bluetooth controller compared to a wired one (e.g. G25, DFP, etc...). I've seen reports of 40-400ms latency for Bluetooth devices from various sites when I googled for it. So, maybe try switching to a wired controller/pad and see if it helps.

Just me 2cents..

I already connected the sixaxis to the usb port, but I dont know if this reduces latency times...
 
I saw on the other site that someone had made 1'21.7xx with a pad...

The SIXAXIS can also be used under PS3Linux. Hence, a precise measurement
on latency could be made. But I've haven't noticed any real difference in
latency between wire- and wireless (thus far).

Since I haven't a wheel, I would prefer to meassure wheel-latency/lag.
The SIXAXIS input-lag is about 40ms, I guess.

To those with a wheel; Can you feel a large input-lag? If the input-lag is below
16ms, then you wouldn't even recognize it (steering should be direct). However,
there is also input-lag from your LCD/TFT.

Is it possible to bring up this in race menu on a g25?

I had a look through but g25 isn't on the list of configurable wheels.

First Finn to break the 1'21. barrier! :D PB now 1'20.958. :D ..still a lot to improve, so my official goal is (very) high 1'20.5xx. :scared:

Nice time! Good job 👍 ..any possibility for T1 & T2 times?

EDIT: As Sphinx said, sub 1'20.600 is possible (damn near perfect) without a clutch. If I had zocker's T1 I would have been close, and my T2 wasn't anywhere near perfect. (with "perfect" I mean for me, lol)

Watched the replay and the first half of the lap seemed really untidy and as I said I've been in the 34.1s on the first split several times. I think the quick corners after the tunnel made this particular lap respectable.
 
This is a question to put some pride back into my driving. I’m using a pad so top 20 no chance, top 100 very hard, but does anyone know how many people have posted times in GT Academy? Is this just a couple of thousand people or is it tens of thousands? So if I post a top 200 time and there is tens of thousands taking part I might feel a bit better about my performance.:sly:

I take my hat off to you guys and gals in the top 20. 👍

Took me an hour of trying and all just to claw back to 3rd place. Time is still coming off in fairly big chunks so not done yet. Getting tough now though - I see the top 20 cut off will soon be 1:21.5

Wonder what it will be at the end?

I don't understand how people are getting such low T1s, I just did a 1'21.494. My T1 was 34.6xx, compare that to PrudentBear's 34.014 and it's clear I'm losing all 0.6 on the first sector alone! The fastest T1 I've ever done is a 34.5xx, I really need practice on it, I can't see where I'm losing half a second in the first 4 bends. Anyone got any advice on how they lost time in that sector? :p

..the cut off might end up at 1'21.000 or even less... there's still so many weeks left.
 
There are some amazing times being posted now. I can't even break 1.23 (on a pad!). But I havent spent much time on the time trial or on the game at all for that matter these days. As Timppaq said though, theres a long time to go yet....

I can see a 1:21 cut off but probably not much less time wise, I think we're getting to a saturation point with the times, in that the quickest won't get much quicker even over the rest of the time available, and I'd generally expect the same names to be up there (with mine in there too hopefully :sly:) just with small improvements from everyone.
 
Although I know that every etrant should have their own copy of the game + ps3(?), I tried to create a new master account for my friend to participate the event. But it won´t let me do this anymore. ????

I quite clearly remember that when I created the GTP_ account it gave me the options to choose from master or sub account. What is wrong here? Did I do it right as i just went to the main menu and clicked create new user...?? Was there somewhere an option to create a new master account for another person??? Did I miss something, again? :)

@homeforsummer: Yes, the saturation point is closing.. for me at least. I´m happy to be the first Finn to go under '21, and I´m hoping that it will guarantee a spot for me in stage 2. There is fast guys coming behind and if they will, I´m sure they´ll break that time of mine (including minium & finbaek). With the DFP, I still have a 0.3 to go (quite easily, 0.5 will be much harder), so just waiting for it to happen. :) ..and I'm hoping that my G25 will arrive today, early next week at the latest, so might give it a go with it as well (though I got that mainly just for the fun factor, as I don't see much point honing my skill with it as the stage 2 is most propably driven with DFGT.. )

Okay, the terms and conditions state: "This Competition is open to residents of...". I'm a UK passport holder, but I'm not a UK resident (or I haven't been in many years). I'm currently a Swiss resident. UK is listed, Switzerland is not. Anyone know if I'm making the distinction correctly (i.e. I'm not eligible to enter)???

LOL! :) ..I've got new address, no probs there, but where do I get the new account made? Master account, where it asks for your credit card number, etc.. :(

I´ll most probably suck with the g25, I´ve tried it once and it is quite different to drive... + the cluth... ou boy. :nervous:
