Thank you ProblemSolver, I think you have solved my problem!

All my hints are for non-germans only!!! Arrrgh......
I'm a pad-driver, I need every tenth of a second to rank-up on the
german leaderboard.

Ahaaaaa..............

Mr. teH PAD

nice finds....

As I read about your "brake-balance" my first thought was Ingame-menu ???!!!

Oh shiiiiitttttttttttt... I have to RTFM before complaining !

You will never do a 1.19.xxx using your pad !!

Thank you ProblemSolver !

I can edit my post if you wish.. ;)

It's ok, everybody should contribute something to the community. :ouch:
(but not in a competition, dude!)

Okey, only two hints;
Adjusting the brake balance should, usually, be obvious for a racer.
But the bridge ... the bridge is somewhat special....
(only useful if you have some traction problems crossing the bridge)

Sphinxs time - driven without clutch, just the DFP, shows that he is one of the best drivers in the competition.

I've only recently got a G25 after using the regular pad controller since GT1 through to GT5P and I'll need a lot of practice to get up to speed with it. I haven't got anywhere to mount the shifter unit either, so I'm just using two pedals and the paddles. My best time so far is around a 1:25.8xx and that has me lower than 600th place!

I've been using Sphinx's ghost, but I think that may be a mistake as he's out of sight for most of my lap so it isn't much use as a guide! :)
But I watched it as a regular replay instead, which is very helpful, like the Demo driver for the License Tests in the previous GTs: see how to do right, then try to copy that smoothness using my own ghost as a guide.

I haven't got anywhere near enough practice with the G25 to be close to a Top 100 time yet, need a few hundred laps more at least. Doh.
Top 20? Out of my league for now, I'll see how it goes after a few more weeks practice.

Respect to those of you who are actually competing for the top places, very impressive!

lol

Let me try one;
You will always stay behind me using your crappy pad!

Well, hurry up doing a 1'22:1xx or 1'22:0xx, such that we can concentrate
on the 1'21:5xx range! I raced against the ghost from 10th place (a 1'21:0xx)
and I have to admit, I'm not really far away! Therefore, a 1'21:5xx is within
range.

Btw, profi; Race against the leader, always!

Anyone who can get a T1 of 34.1 surely has what it takes, so respect for that, mate. 👍 👍 I however have yet to see a 34.1, and I'm still scraching my arse trying to figure out how the hell you guys are doing it. Too much skill me thinks. 👍

Yeah, I'm only managing like 34.5xx at very best (only done it once or twice), but then I seem to not lose much else through the rest of the lap.

OOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!! Brake balance...!
I mentioned the on-the-fly settings earlier in this thread, don't think many have thought of it. I quickly tried it and found little gain, but that was earlier on, now that the times are so close perhaps there is something with it.

Sad to hear you've dropped out Mr P, what you might find is that our time is still good enough for top 20 come the end of the competition, we're nearly a week into it and I think a lot of people have already hit their wall, or lost patience with it :)

And thanks a lot :sly:
But don´t worry about me, I won´t be fast "enough". But my goal is getting better, that´s it.

Greetings
Kutscher

Hi, just wanna say my lucky 34.1's were done chasing the top runners with 34.0 at T1 and I only hit that split on a couple of occasions ... 34.2 was easier and 34.3 was my average :sly: Thanks for the comments and good luck to all

I wont say I'm not intrigued by this brake balance suggestion! I would be happy to try that out if I could understand how to adjust it?? I never knew it was something we could adjust and it comes as quite a shock that I never knew already :dunce:

What wheel setting do people run on btw? ... there is 3 different settings in the options for DFP!
they are 'amateur / Pro / Simulation' My wheel is set at Pro with feedback on 2 .... would be interested to hear what others were using 👍
Cheers
Ron.

Who is next?

Happy balancing. :)

2. uhhhhffffzzzz...
3. I need a binocular first..

Hi guys could you be some more specific about the brake balance thing? How can i get the menu while racing? I tried to bound options to the buttons of my controller but when i press them nothing comes on the screen.:scared:

Same here! I allocated the menu up and down extra options in the controller adjustment menu to my L3 / R3 and X and square options on the DFP and tried a lap to see what happens? tried adjusting them at the start of a lap but nothing happens and nothing registers on the screen! :dopey: I'm just as lost as the next person it seems ... It's not an April the 1st spoof extra late is it? :sly:

You need 5 buttons for the adjustment menu, 1 button to turn the adjustment menu on/off, 4 buttons to adjust the values. I use the G25 wheel and I am using it ;)

Well that really does take the piss then! Why didn't they just call the comp 'The G25 ( on a silver platter ) GT Academy' :yuck: I heard of some advantages in previous GT games but this is so bias towards any other controller than the G25 it's pathetic! ... next combo why don't they just introduce a hyperspeed Bspec Bob to drive the lap insanely fast for them also if they cant be bothered

PD and Sony! .... what a bunch of tossers at the helm

Nothing against the G25 racers! .. just ranting at the people who programmed this crap into the game and allowing it to be used as an advantage in a major comp and give little extra's to the people who have paid over the odds for the top of the range wheel 👎

I have this mapped on my DFP: Square to toggle the menu on/off; L2/R2 to select which control; L3/R3 to adjust the setting.

Ron, I've been able to enable it on my DFP. When they say 'in-game' it really is adjustable in-race. not on the menu, but when you are on the track.

Good news! I may have been premature in saying it was my final laps then :P ... if it makes any substantial difference in the cars drivability then I will be running some more.

I do not agree with Enzo's comment regarding paying extra for the G25 should give you more advantage though :dopey: The clutch is the added extra you are paying for! not an extra options adjustment hidden from the other users ;)

So .. to the DFP drivers who have enabled this and tested it ... does it help any?
Thanks in advance

Yeah you have to customize 5 buttons then when in game you press the menu button (RA function menu) to enable the use of the other 4 butons.

I'm amazed with how much options is actually in the game and did'nt know about the 3 different levels on adjusting the wheel also, I've tried all 3 settings but cant tell the difference in the handling of the car. Does anyone have a little insight on what they do?

*EDIT* I also dissagree with Enzo's statement that clutch should be applied in the button customisation menu, how is it that PD's own DFGT wheel is at a dissadvantage against the G25 don't get me wrong I love the idea of having a H shift with clutch thats awesome and bringing gaming closer to realistic simulation however that option should be open to all users.

Wow, must've been some lap. 👍

Were you following his ghost or your own?

very nice time oldbeanee that wont be an easy time to beat so you should be able to relax a little now, good luck to everyone taking part.

I might have a pop later, but I need to build a cockpit and rearrange some furniture as I'm sitting to the right of the TV with my legs squeezed under a table which is the same width of the pedal box on a rock solid dining room chair even with cushions still feels like a paving slab. Sure I've got a 1'21.2/300 in the bag somewhere and hopefully more. Still had a lot of fun with my new wheel (didn't buy it for this comp) using the Art Morrison and the Jag around Suzuka and Eiger on the JPN copy and MGS4 LE has been posted.

Any chance anyone could give a brief explanation of how brake bias would improve times? I tried upping both of them, but didn't notice a difference in stopping difference, then I tried setting them more on the back to let the front wheels be able to steer better, I assume front biased brakes is a no-no since the fronts are already doing so much, but I don't know for sure. My tuning knowledge is very limited.

I have my G25 on simulation setting, force feedback was at 10 before, but I've knocked it down to 5 since my flatmate was complaining about it vibrating his bed through the wall, lol.
