Just did some races around Brands Hatch and Nords again. See this one of BHI. Clean race and nothing really happens. Skip to 5:20 the end of the race. The grey car behind me punched my butt, I touched the gravel had to slow down (which I didn't...) and got a penalty and my SR decreased. This is becoming a funny SR system. For me it's ok. but if this happens in the final version during e.g. an Esports high prize race. PD will work this out before going gold. Right?

Looks like he went for the late divebomb there after you'd turned in already. Not sure how they can do anything about this in the SR rating.
 
Couple of occassions when the game borked and forgot my qualifying time. Only modest climbs back up to 9th and 12th (about where I would have qualified in each funny enough). I mostly just sit by and wait for various people to take themselves out. :P

N300 at Brands. Most of the action on the first lap, 17th to 10th.




N300 at Nurb. Nice battle with julioolivier and zosser, running almost nose to tail from Karussell to Brunnchen without contact.

@TRGTspecialist Did you set any qualifying times in either race there? Mine never registered a couple of times yesterday for some reason.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I set times and the game registered them, it just failed to retrieve them for those specific races. I forget what I did after the Nurb race but with the Brands one the other day I just entered the next race without doing any more qualifying, and the game remembered my time again, and put me on the grid correctly.

I have had that happen at least once though, where I did a quali session and set a time, but the game simply didn't save it when I left.
 
Yeah sorry, that's what I meant, the first part. It had been retrieving my quali time for NI Speedway and as I was front row in most races I couldn't see why people didn't like it to be honest. Opening up a gap from the pack, dodging back markers, It's fine up top. Got thrown on the back row.... I can see their pain. :lol:
 
Having watched the full length of some of the videos on this page, the sound isn't just bad and dull, but extremely grating! Gave me flashbacks of GT6 when the grating sound forced me to dump the game. Drove me crazy.

Even though I've seen it already, still can't get over ghe ghosting. @ around 5:20 the guy just tried to, well not overtake you but throughtake you. Bewildering this GTsport is.

I am very happy ghosting exists in class d, otherwise i would have been rammed out and wouldnt have that amzing race. I guess only a smaller number of drivers who have a good sr and are in class C wont behave like that, so i am thankful for the ghosting in the low class i am racing at the moment :)

Then it works wel with the ghosting. Indeed in C and above no ghosting anymore as far as I could pay attention to it during the race and battles.

Like PD is testing I also did some tests tonight. Some drivers will not like it, but keep in keep it is also beta testing for me. What did I do? How does the SR system work.

test: Nordschleife 10 sectors:

When I go off track either way pushed off track or do it myself the SR decreases in that sector (see start. I get the penalty??). If all other sector increase the overall SR at the end of the race remains the same. In this case 8 blue, 2 red. No + or - at the end.
When I bump another car off track and I gain a position because of that bad action (sorry!! it was for testing purpose only :scared:) my SR increases (see 1:50 where I bumper two GT-R's off track and my SR goes up). I think that it not how it is supposed to work? The bad driver gets rewarded
When I cannot avoid another car because he spun in the middle of the road (own fault see @5:01) and I had to ram him I still get SR+ in that sector. That's ok. @7:05 I touched the white line and see what happens. That's still very strange when you know that bumping curves, hitting the grass has less impact...Own driver's fault so SR minus. Also ok?

See this race: yes starting with the Scirocco is still work in progress :crazy:

I think what's happening at 1:50 is that the system doesn't take into account the results of the action and is deciding to call it "incidental contact" and therefore not penalizing you for the contact. So the sector is completed with non-penalizing incidental contact only and your SR goes up accordingly.
 
@BrainsBush as far as I can tell you lose SR for going off track and hitting barriers regardless of the reason for it, and you seem to only lose SR for hitting people if you hit them quite hard and they aren't travelling in the wrong direction, i.e. going across the track (like at the Carousel), or backwards. So light taps aren't going to get you penalties regardless of if they go off track or not. At least, that seems to be how it works.
 
I get pitted again in this video. However, this time the guilty party got a 2 second penalty which dropped him back behind me.



Although I think that people who do this deliberately need to be banned from online racing.

I wasn't going to bother today with the races but saw they had added Gr.3 Nordschleife event, didn't get to try the beastly Corvette on it last time it was available so gave it a go. Much more fun than driving the GT-R Gr.4 thanks to being RWD with a lot more power, less weight and more downforce. :)

Included warm-up of the online races as probably more exciting to watch than the races. I drive like a nutter especially second race warm-up, most fun part of online races so far for me as don't have to worry about safety rating so can drive reckless for fun and also feel less lonely in the Green Hell.



 
A single race i did a few weeks ago in the Bmw M6 Gt3 Gr.3 car in cockpit view the AI difficulty was set to Professional
and there is a replay of the race afterwards feel free to check it out.

Done some races with @Firehuntah tonight. Here's a really close one. Frankly, I somehow overlooked him at the start, hence the moving to the left, sorry :D Good driving tho

Yeah that was a very good race. I tried passing you a few times but it was just impossible, didn't have enough speed or I ended up braking too early. :D Hope to race with you again tomorrow, was really fun. Here's the race from my POV. :)



Also had a pretty nice and close race on Brands Hatch Indy. Just the 2nd and 3rd corner were a bit of a mess but the rest of the race was quite fun though I again couldn't make a pass.



Unfortunately there was also a bad race on the Nordschleife where someone ran me off the track on the last straight when I wanted to pass him after a good slipstream. He just moved into me and pushed me onto the grass and against the guardrail. Ofcourse I'm the one who lost SR there while he didn't.

Easy points for getting to B rank I guess but it was a bit silly to be matched with so many E ranks.
