They would be nice, but I don't think I'd use them much. I wouldn't do anything like try to boost advertising for the Hummer H2 by doing some GT4 racing. I'm don't see myself racing a Hummer on sophisticated road courses with an anything-but vehicle. I don't see myself trying to beat down people in a machine better suited to off-road use. In other words, if I wanted to use such 4x4s, I'd rather rally race a la Dakar.
Before any smart ass comes off asking me "John, the Escudo is an SUV! What the hell are you talking about man? Enough of your editorials already, damn you!", I don't think they have a place in road racing. I think. Maybe not you, but when I'm road racing, I'd want to use vechicles I know I can win with. Because when you think about it, 4x4s and such are too to-heavy for road racing, and I especially mean SUVs. You try to handle beautifully with those, and the next thing you know, you're on your hood. Had this been Grand Theft Auto, of course, you'd have to get out of your machine before it blows up (with you in it). Another smart-ass remark would be "there's no roll overs in GT4. Get a clue, dude." My response? Most 4x4s are too heavy for road racing. If you don't have the weight reduction and all that down, you're still probably not going to win the Grand Valley 300km or whatever endurance is planned for the Nurburgring Nordschliefe.
Or if I'm wrong, set me straight. Sound off.
