Gran Turismo 4 Full-spec Demo

All I can say is... I compared it to GT3, GT4 Prologue, this demo is the real deal.. I played Forza Motorsports Demo, I can safely say, GT4 owns Forza.. :o

Key features that I noticed:

- Much more realistic handling
- Sound improvement, yes the Nismo GTR sounds mean
- No more wall-grinding, penalty for grinding, must drive clean lines
- Much better physics
- Car models updated with more shine, shadowing, and anti-aliasing compared to the dull GT4 Prologue car models.
- And Nurgurgring track, is freaking sweet!!

Yes how do the TCS and ASM work this time around?

And where is this demo sold?

Damn, i really want the demo, but don't wanna take away from the experience of getting the full game for the first time... :(

Nice pics. Are you having a tough time driving the cars with aid off?

I'm using the GT4 Driving Force wheel with all driving aids off and it feels quite realistic. It is a big change from GT3, because the handling and controls feel very fast and immediate, it is definitely not geared for newbies..

One over-cooked corner, you're gonna hit the wall and this time, hitting the wall results in 2-3 sec lag penalty delay than wall-riding.

Without the aids, power on oversteer is quite pronounced, in GT3 the Skyline GTR feels more like FWD.

Oh, and the new character movements; is the Cobra (or any convertible) in the game?

hey, does teh body roll look realistic in the latest builds? i still think some of the cars dont have enough body roll... i dunno. also.. does the game feel similar to RicharD Burns Rally>?

sounds really good. Literally. I was shocked at how good the engine sounds, compared to previous GT games (somebody was kind enough to upload a sound clip for me).

I want the demo. :grumpy:

@LegacySTI any chance of getting some screenshots of Trial Mountain? As of yet, I haven't seen any pics of it!! (If there are some out there, could someone point me to 'em?)

Thanks 👍

Sweet pics!! Is this game even going to be possible to play well with the DS2 controller? I mean i could easily afford it, but i never thought about getting the wheel. It sounds like a sweet experience, but i just want to know if it will even be possible to beat the game with the controller with the physics being as realistic as they are.

80-inch monitor? Man. SOMEBODY got money. Can you let me borrow that 80-incher to my house for about... 5 years? Just pulling you leg there.

Nice balance in choosing tracks for the demo. One real track in a real location, one fantasy track in a real location, and one fantasy track in a fantasy location (or if you're going on GT2, it's probably in the United Kingdom). Out of the three, I'd want to try out that Nurburgring. I've pretty much done exceptional at Le Mans, so I'm ready to take Godzilla (the Falken Skyline GT-R) and get revenge after placing a dismal 53rd at the Nurburgring Nords. back in 2003. I love Paris if not Tokyo, so George V would be pretty cool to race in the city of romance. Trial Mountain will tick you off if your car can't corner effectively through the first set of Esses, then really take you over the edge if you overshoot the chicane or run on the uphill grass. And believe me, I've run over that grass, spun my car out, damn near lose races, and... practice makes perfect, you dig? These are three nice tracks.

CobraGT, I'd like to ask you to clarify some of the bullets you mentioned in the first post. Kind of go into more detail about (1) much more realistic handling, (2) sound improvement, (3) no more wall grinding and have to take cleaner lines, (4) much better physics, and (5) better car models. And before anyone else asks about it, what do you think about the AI in this build?

can you send it to me, plz!

I'm currently getting a copy of the demo, but after I get a chance to review it I will post some clips for you all to drewl over. seems like I'm always late to the party here at GTplanet. I just got a new archos pocket video recorder and this thing is awsome. Expect some killer clips from here after I get a chance to play it. It sure is taking too damn long.
