yes, I vote for Quattro '82, when you will have it and especially Audi Quattro S1, also Lancia S4 maybe?

Thanks for the link, you're AWESOME. The sounds are great IMO. I haven't had the chance to hear most of these 700 vehicles in detail, so as long as they sound like this I don't care how accurate they are. The muscle cars could use some work, but other than that it's all good. :)

I feel bad asking for one, but anyone who's heard an SLR knows its glory. SLR... :D

I'm saying in real life. If I haven't heard the majority of these cars in real life, so I have no idea whether they are accurate or not. I think they sound great as they are, accurate or not. I love em. :)

Impreza rally car's low rews are weird... This thread should be added to "read this" list, is it called sticky? Transmission sound is still very loud.

If you get that Lancia Delta S4 you will record that sound in first place, right? That car is Italian... And you are from Italy... And I hope the car doesn't sound **** in game...

Off topic: what kind of electric system you have in italy? is it 220-230V and 50Hz? I go to Italy at spring and I would like to know that.

Wow those cars sound great, especially when there are others you will hear whilst racing.

What changes are there to the sounds afer mods of any kind to the engine/exhaust, is there alot of difference?

I have a request: How about the Nike One? So much intrigue around that car. Thing.

So 230V and 50Hz and I can plug gadgets that work in Finland (50Hz 220-230V) in Italy too? Thanks for link.

is there any sounds that have backfire sound too?

Check out the Audi RS6 sound. It backfires I think. It makes a popping sound about 50 seconds into the clip.

It's just sweet, sweet music to my ears to hear throaty exhaust notes in Gran Turismo again. Just to get a sampling of what I'll get to hear is enough to send me drifting into euphoria again.

I am curious though, as to what you guys are using to capture the sound/video's from the PS2 with.

I agree. GT4 seems to have improved on it's predecesors in just about every aspect. Sonically speaking however, they do tend to sound just a tad bit too "synthesized" (IE: Record the engine at one pitch, then simply bend it electronically.) As a filmmaker and sound designer, I will agree that the sounds of NFSU2 do simulate the engine mechanics more authentically than in GT4. Hopefully PD will have studied EA's NFSU2 sound design techniques and utilize them in future sequels. While NFSU2 sounds great and is fun to play, it's still in a completely different league from GT4. Below I have provided a few links from NFSU2's engine sounds for those of you that wish to compare and contrast.

Pontiac GTO

Lancer EVO VIII

Nissan 350Z

 OMG. i love the Evo's sound in NFSUN2.

Another thing better about NFSU2 is how you can hear that big "clunk" everytime he shifts up. 👍

I dunno, super disapointment in the sound department :ouch:

I can't believe PD screwed the sound up :grumpy:

On the GT4 JP site it sounds awesome, on these it sucks.

That's just a marketing ploy designed to entice potential buyers. That wasn't really meant for guys like us who already love the game (in my opinion that is).

Yeah, the clutch. I love that damn sound.

Unfortunately, all the PD does is put a mic above the engine. And you don't hear the clutch pop from the engine, only from inside the cabin.

You know in prologue, the Sl55 AMG have this automatic transmission sound when it changes gears....Why does't the RS6 have that? It had it in GT Consept...Wierd, cause it would have sounded so much better...
