It'll be interesting to find out how the Panda sounds in GT4. My father used to own an Uno with the same 999cc FIRE engine as the Panda, so I'll certainly know whether or not it's realistic.

The AE86 certainly sounds better than it did in GT3, and I like the sound of the Evo with the racing exhaust.:)
 
Yes it is, sound or pics or any confirmation would be good. It seems that we didn't get Lancia Rally 037 or MG (or Austin or Rover) Metro 6r4.

Sorry I remember your name was McLaren SLR, it was Mercedes SLR... :banghead:
 
wtf all of you have got to be kidding me. all the sounds still sound unrealistic i know its hard to do and yes its an improvement but no way near realistic still stupid stupid stupid sounds.

The Corvette Z06 still sounds like a Vacuum Machine... :indiff: Why can't it sound like it does in Project Gotham?

I've never heard a 2000 Z06 in person but have heard people say the stock muffler does it's job at reducing noise.
 
The commodore SS has exactly the same motor as the munro. so they will sound baseically the same, and yep the z06 would have the ls2 and there not ur regular v8 sound standard :dopey:
i think these are probally very correct sounds remember most of these are stock cars :sly:
just wait till u get an exhaust on the gen3 (munro) theres one in my town and my god i shiver when shes at full noise :crazy:

edit: ok... listened to the Neon srt-4 and became worried and disappointed because is did still have that distinct tiny hiss... After listening to the Toyota levin I'm relieve because that is a sufficent improvement from GT3. So, if its like the levin its cool.

Engine sounds are ok at best. I love GT and everything, but PD is simply out-done by EA's engine sounds in NFSU. They sound a LOT more realistic. Have more throat, bass, kick, punch, and however else you want to define it. Somewhat dissapointed in PD on this one. Oh well, you can't win em' all.
 
Hej.....am kinda new member here and this will be my first post @gtplanet but i have been a reading post here fro some time now...

I watched the bmw movie that and i must say that I was so dissapointed. I sounds so flat not a single rawness in the engidne sound at all...ya know the BMW screams lika a formula one car but at the same time it sounds a little bit like american muscle cars (a very responsive muscle sound).... Gt4 totally failed here.....the same goes for the corvette stingray engine sound......Must say that need for speed undergraound have a lot better carsounds then gt4 but i hope that gt4 will be at least 100 times better(more fun) hehe.....

edit...listened to the volvo 240 engine sound and it only sounded familiar(sp). A 240 dosen't sound like it is supercharged at all like it does in gt4..
 
Argh! I am really dissapointed with some of the sounds but especially the SRT-4. I was hoping for the nice burble that a mufflerless car would make (yes there are no mufflers, just 2 resonators). I'm just hoping that the game represents the underrated hp accurately too.
Ok, I can't complain too much. At least it made it into the game. I would like to hear what the Pontiac Solstice sounds like though.
 
I think it's just to much wrong with this game to be Gran Turismo :( whats going on? the sounds allmost sucks on some of the cars like the muscle cars and more, the muscle cars doesnt sound like V8's anyway I think, and i just read that the Ford Svt Lightning is FR in real and 4WD in game :(. I havent play it yet but with this information Im realy dissapointed...

But the game is certainly fanastic anyhow :)
 
Those are some powerful engine sounds. I like the way shifting actually takes about a half second now. It only makes me want GT-4 even more now.
 
I'd like to hear the M3 CSL, that engine sounds very different to the normal M3, very throaty and lots of induction roar!

I can bet that PD probably used the normal M3 samples though...

Why oh why are they such slackers when it comes to engine sounds.

I think KY just cares about graphics and B-Spec, hence photo mode and all that stuff... There is no audio mode :D

To me, the sound a car makes is just as important as the way it looks!

Uh well, there are plenty of other games coming up now, PGR3, Forza, the one from Konami etc etc...

Perhaps GT/PD will stop resting on their laurels now, and actually make a leap forward in quality other than gfx and percepted handling!

Can you pu-pu-pleeeeaaassseee record the engine sound of the '60s Lotus Elan? You don't have to go max speed or anything in it, I just want to hear up to about 70 mph at least. It had the best sounding engine in GT2 IMO. Plus... somebody else also requested it :D.

On a side note, I can tell you right now that the new GTO sounds nothing like that one in the NFS sound clip. All the GTO sounds like is my '95 Camaro Z28 with a lot of farts in it. It's much more similar to the GT4 sound clip.

Leo, I'm not sure if there are other slight modifications but the more free flowing exhaust should make make 30hp, it's just because Australia is more strict on the noise level laws and that's going to be even more strict next year? or at least soon

Unless you get a Monaro direct from HSV, with an easy 305kW DIN, 410BHP anyone :) , and i have seen a few special order HSV GTO's with 385kW badges, roughly 520BHP đź‘Ť

And to answer this person who said that the shifting sound in NFSU2 was the clutch. Well I dont know what kind of clutch you have in your car, but it sure makes a strange noise, you should take it to the garage. A clutch, and a shifter are supposed to be very very silent. If the engine is off, you can hear a small Clicking sound when you change gears, thats from the transmission.

They took that weird noise from the movie Fast And Furious and put it in the game (notice that all the sounds effects from that movie are in the game?).

The clicking sound is Paul Walker's arthritis in his RSI ridden hands from changing gear 5,382 times in an Eclipse.

And yes, the Monaro sounds nothing like the real thing. There is no archaic V8 sounds like there is when the gen3 5.7 V8's rush to get out the toll's on the M2 into Sydney
 
Sorry everybody for not putting new sounds in the last days, I've been busy playing the game and since there weren't many new requests lately I didn't bother much about this thread! I'll try to record more sounds as soon as possible. Stay tuned!
 
Does the woodone supra sound like the castrol toms supra you've recorded, if it does i would be abit dissapointed, the woodone supra in prologue was the meanest sounding car in the game.
