I don't know if this will get more publicity here, or in the 200 A-Spec points forum, but I might as well post it here to give that forum some publicity of it's own:

Does anyone want to work on fixing up the A-Spec Point Data; Values, Races, and Modifications thread with some more data? I don't think it's going to be updated by him any time soon. What I'm mostly referring to is the values of the cars. What was his starting reference? Couldn't they just as easily been 17 points higher, giving the FGT a normal 2000 points?

This would of course mess up the multipliers, although if we wanted to re-find them I'm sure we could.

Also, I was thinking of finding more about HP and Weight as factors in determining the Value of the car. With the help of Famine's "Notes on A-Spec data" (don't have the link handy, but it's in the same forum) I bet we could find some valuable information.

I just really want to crack the A-Spec code, and with help (hopefully from some A-Spec Nutters or Famine himself) I bet we could find out a lot (or that PD has an incredibly complicated system for calculation points and values).

Now that I think of it, this probably would be better in that forum, but it gets so much less traffic, and I bet some people reading this never knew that forum existed. If a mod wants to move this the the A-Spec point discussion thread, feel free to do so.

I really believe that, with enough practice and knowledge, anyone can gold anything in GT4.
 
Agreed, there is quite a lot of margin for error, I got 80 golds in 2 weeks, spending maybe 9 hours over the 2 weeks. I spent the most on the Audi test at the hairpin at Tsukuba. It's not rocket science.

i was wondering what would classify as a car as a "production car" becuase im trying to do the supercar festival and cant find a good "poduction car" and i saw a caddillac cien so i anted to use mine but it said it wasnt a "production car" anyways

Anything that isn't a concept car or a racecar.

If you want that sort of power, look no further than the Zondas. Alternatively, find something more civil and challenging.

Go into Arcade Mode. Pick a manufacturer. Anything with "Road Car" at the top left is a production car. Anything with "Tuner Car", "Concept Car" or "Race Car" isn't. The Cien is a Concept.


"Production" really means real car, really made by a really real manufacturer and not tuned in any way.
 
Although this might end the series, It would be cool if we could download cars from the internet and put them into the game. That way, we could get the newest cars onto the game without waiting for a seqeal.:D
Plus, it would be nice to have a pure white background for photomode.

I have heard that the first feature may come to GT5, though anyone else can tell you news on that.

As for the white background: over-expose the picture. But, what could you do with one?

Having ready-made images with no backgrounds makes life so much easier when making images for some web pages or other content, such as advertisements.

Any of the LMP-class cars is fit to do it. There's a thread with a comparison of them in B-Spec, checking which one is actually best.

Winner was, I think, the Pescarolo Courage C60 - but every other LMP, Group C or LMGTP car is fit. If you're going on a budget, then the Toyota Minolta (won at the El Capitan enduro), Mercedes CLK-GTR (Won at the DTM) or one of the other to-win LMPs will do. If B-Spec has troubles, a Stage 4 Turbo may be the solution - but a human driver should be capable without it.
 
Doing the GT Championship in the Minolta, only 4 points per race due to a Camaro and Chapparal, but it's close between me and the Nissan R92CP in most of the races. However I'm more fussed about getting through to the extreme hall, I'll come back to better points later.
 
Thanks Metar...I actually ended up beating it with with the Formula GT. Another question...I cannot seem to beat the 15 Race Formula GT Cup. I'm wondering if there is a car out there that will piss all over the Formula GT, or if its just a matter of tranny settings. I've got the first 7 races figured out, after that I'm getting crushed. Anyone out there willing to share their settings for each of the races, or enlighten me of a faster car?

PS: I'm racing in B-spec. Any help much appreciated...this is my last cup to beat!
 
The Formula GT, well, is the fastest car in the game - bar the Minolta on the Nurburgring in the hands of rather skilled human drivers.

There's nothing to it but careful watching and adjusting of pace.
 
Thank you "Zardoz"!! I searched the forums and found my answer...a complete listing of settings for all races in the GT Cup. Haven't tried it yet, though...time to cut myself off socially for the next 15 hours. If anyone wants these settings, I'll gladly get them to you.
 
Hey, just accomplished my 3rd 200pt race in my stock Cien in the Like the Wind race.

I almost quit, but then thought "what if the LMPs pit" and they did. Oh yeah!

What about the 10 second penalty while hitting the wall or another Racer?? Is this confirmed in the game? Will the AI also be punished for this?

Well most things I want are already listed above this post.
I want more Stock Car Racing Events specially the SuperCars and Exotics to have more non-tuned races. That'll show the real potential of each cars on the Track..
How about they include the TopGear Test Track :p , that way we can check if we're better than the Stig in the real life.

You're lucky. The penalty is for 5 seconds not 10.

who can you make this?

Do you mean how to reach the Vegas Dragstrip? If so, you can do it via Power & Speed on the menu, and selecting the dragstrip. It costs about 5Cr, if I remember correctly.

They call it because it is. It's a very good handler, laps quickly, and also holds the record as the fastest car in GT4 - with speeds over 380MPH clocked on it.

It's not crap. Try Daihatsu Midget if you're looking for crap(haulers)

I'm guessing you live with KMH, right? 'cuz no car in GT4 can reach that speed and I'm sure of that.

EDIT: The fastest car in GT4 is the Formula Gran Turismo (the F1 car).
