Its about time we heard something about GT4. And ive read nearly all the posts. ist sounds good. Lets hope that you can RM you cars again !!! :D

I don't think that there will be any message board stuff on GT4. With the amount of stuff that people write on these things, your thumbs would get really tired if you had to do it with a controller! ;) :p
So I guess it's safe to say that GTP will definetly still be around once the game is released.

One thing that I think PD should really take a good look at is, Gamshark. If there's going to be real online racing, then there are going to be cheaters with it. That means that PD has to come up with a really good built-in rules system. Which limits such things as power, torque, weight, etc. One thing that they might have a problem with is downforce. You can change the downforce of a car in GT3, with the use of Interact products, to make it handle extremely well. Even F1 like handeling. I'm sure that the good people at Interact, and Gameshark users from all over will come up with similar codes for GT4. PD will definetly have to come up with something to combat this, or else the online racing thing is going straight to hell in a handbag, marked Interact.

PS Supra4eva, I thought that the race modification option was the ****!! I really hope that they bring that back.

PSS I also think that there's a pattern. GT1 - started series on a new system, not too many cars. GT2 - perfected the game for PS, lots of cars, GT3 - started series on a new system, not too many cars, GT4 - perfected the game for PS2, lots of cars?
I want more cars, danm it!

I always looked forward to looking at new cars RM, but when they screpped that in GT3, it quite upset me ! :'(, lol
I hope they defo bring it back, imagine how good the cars would look RM with GT3 or 4 should i say, Graphics !!!

I hope that nearly everything in the game gets better. And about the damage I hope that there is an option to turn it on or off and you didn't have to pay if you crash.

Nice thoughts "drifter", but i'd rather have it that if your cars did get damaged, even the slightest scratch, you have to pay to have the work done in a specialist garage. I find it a good idea to have.

Hi Guys (and Gals),

I'm new to this website and have been reading the forum pages with interest, especially those concerning GT4. I may be mistaken but one rumour that I heard has not been mentioned on these pages yet. Real time weather effects. ON ALL TRACKS! Not just rain either, fog, sleet, even snow could find their way onto even the most tropical of racetracks.
My source for this info? My Official Playstation 2 Magazine.
Here's hoping!

I just hope that they sort the A.I out, don't you? Not only do they drive slowly, but, after stopping to let the field go past so that you may have the brief pleasure of racing through the pack, the pack actually slows down! If they don't sort this out, or at least let us adjust the difficulty in a way that matters, i.e not just the number of laps in a race, this could just tarnish the whole experience for me. I know, I know it's going to be online, but the time we will no doubt all be spending accumulating cars and modifying them should be spent having realistic fun, not in way that feels like a chore.

That's it, l8r.

Another add-in, possible settings for the game's AI to fine tune their machines. like a easy medium and difficult tuning of cars by the AI that you can change in the options. I highly doubt this would happen, but for the extremely competitive people out there, this would bring the game to the next evolution. No; Not the car BTW

Does anyone know of any tracks that are set to make it in to GT4? I heard a rumour ages ago that the excellent Macau GP circuit (a street course in Asia) could be featured. I hope so, but I would really like to see the Nordschleife at the Nurburgring. The original course would be amazing. 8 mins for the fastest road cars could mean that it would be too big for the PS2 to run I think, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed anyway.

when will gt4 come out in the uk and will it be online i am sorry but i have not had the time to read the posts!:banghead:

this is what i think i dont realy care when it comes out i know that i will get it and play it what i realy want is damge that you have to pay to fix it and if they could do aboght 50% of the game competment offline and 50% you have to do online like enrter a race and race with live oppents to get that race done and they could start out with like 50 cars and use the harddrive to update eith new cars every week so they can bring it out faster well that what i think

I'm a UK user, so I porbably won't get GT4 available until at least mid-2004, but I have some information that I would like to give and ask questions about.

1) GT4 is to have 2000 cars, including used ones. I only hope they will have more manufacturers. Does anyone know any more about this?

2) There are to be around 100 tracks (not including reverses). Will there be a re-appearance of the old tracks like Grindelwald and Autumn Ring Mini, and what will the new ones be.

One thing that puzzles me is that GT3 is 3.5GB (I checked), and that's 200 cars and only c. 20 tracks. How they're going to fit all the stuff they say they will in GT4 is going to create a large number of DVDs, surely?

If there is to be another 'Formula GT' championship in GT4, I think they should try and use real F1 Circuits too.

Message to Polyphony Digital: If the car manufacturers are being jerks and won't let youy have images of smashed up cars, surely (though it would be nice), they could just ignore it if the problem is too much, couldn't they?

i was just thinking about GT3 and what i think would be cool is in-car view, and PIT CREWS. You know how your car just floats while magicly your tires get changed...... i would rather have lil dudes come out and change the tires, and have the car come olny 2 inches off teh ground. Also fuel that has never come into play, your should need atleast another tank of fuel in the 100 lapper at super speedway, that would play into stratigy (sp?) too cause if your have a really fast car , ie a V12 then you burn fuel FAST, but if you gotsay a viper with a V8 then if you bacily kaap up with the V12 then you dont have to pit as much which would make it more fun. You should also make it so you can drive your car down pit road, hit your marks, pull in the clutch hold the brakes and wait for the words "go go go" or the left front tire changer to tell u to go, that would be the best!
