I think the most important thing to be improved in GT4 is the AI of the other racers in single player mode. :yuck:

I think this is the best "I want..." thread ever.

Oh dear...

Methinks multiple flame and informing you to search before creating a topic will ensue...

Welcome to GTP!

Let me get this straight are you saying this because you hate the ai in gt3 , or you've seen gt4 vids and still hate the ai? Because the gt4 ai is amazing. 👍 👍 👍

How do you know GT4's ai is amazing? Because GT4:P's ai sucks ass!

He doesn't know.

I've only played GT4P, and the AI is not good at all, it's like GT3's...

*sigh* More GT-elitists who ***** about the game being too easy. I spend $90AUD on Splinter Cell and beat that in about 2 days, but you don't hear me complaining? Get a life.

Human Intelligence is not Artificial! Methinks you forgot what AI actually means?!

well, to me if im at home racing someone else online that person is nothing more than digital data who mimics a human being perfectly.

Give me Grand Prix 4 AI (which is the best in a racing game IMO) and I'll be happy. :)

The problem isn't just being too easy, it's it being too boring to race. Races in Pro Race Driver were 10 times more fun than GT3's races, although everything else in that game is worse than GT series.

BTW, Splinter Cell has crappy AI too.

I agree, the computer controlled cars in 'pro race driver' were better than GT3 because of one thing - they raced!!!
Your meager 5 opponents in the granturismo series travel around in convey oblivious to anyone else, they dont overtake (unless you've strayed off line) they rarely spin off or hit each other and most of the time they act like mobile chicanes.
On the other hand your pro race driver opponents like nothing better than a good race. they might not be the most intelligent drivers - but at least they try!

I really hope Polyphony fixes the AI in the full game(Because it sort of sucks in GT4P)
It don´take long before you blast away from the field, and never see them again.Other than that,it really is a great game(For a previewtest, that GT4P is)graphics great and cars are great. There is just one really annoying thing about it(Besides the AI)It´s about 6 month´s away :o(

Well, find another game to play instead of being stuck on the one game for 4 years. Jees. Console gaming means a lot more than two words - Gran Turismo.

And I wasn't trying to state Splinter Cell has superior AI. People whine and complain about every little flaw in GT3 and how easy it is, and when I complete a game that I spent heaps of money on in a couple of days, I don't go parading around the forums making a big song and dance about how easy and how crap the AI was.

I hear Ninja Gaiden's the definition of pain on harder modes.

Welcome to GTP psychedelic. Please search before posting.

First off, I had to sell GT3 around 8 monthes ago, so I play many other games on my console. As I said on my other post, it just isn't fun to race. It's like playing a FPS against stupid enemies who just charge at you and don't differ at all throughout the levels. That isn't fun, and neither is tuning up your car in GT just to race yourself when it comes to an AI race.

The only thing GT4 definitely needs is.......................... to be released!

I don't bother waiting more time if PD makes a good IA :D

Simple solution - don't play the game. If a game is boring/not fun to play, then why play it at all? Find another game (I'm not referring to you singularly) and leave the tiresome "GT3 Has Crap AI" threads alone.

Oh, and remember; some people aren't very good drivers and the AI do do a good job for them, competition-wise. Not everyone can jump in an old rust bucket, set it to manual and win against the hardest of competition by 057ms...

The ai should get much more well artifically intelligent :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: as you go through the leagues. When i hit them they should hit back. then ill hit em harder.
Are there going to be more than 6 cars per race in Gt4, because I so want to friggin play a 30 car race. 👍 . The 6 car thing is old. 👎

Sigh...

Read before you post. Anywhere. We've been though this. No. You can't race 30 cars. Deal.

You hit AI cars? Mmm, perhaps the AI isn't alone in needing to mature and become more intelligent.

Shannon we're well aware that everyone exhibits a different level of skill and some people are greatly challenged by the AI, particularly on the harder races. But I don't see why games like UT get away with having Godlike bots that truly are Godlike and can challenge even the best players, and GT can't implement AI simply because people won't be able to compete. When I finish Simulation mode I want to unlock 'Extreme', not 'Hard' which is just 2 more laps and vaguely harder, I want a level of competition where I'm actually tested.

Well, UT has an option to change the bot skill level which allows the user to vary the difficulty. Maybe Polyphony should implememnt something like this. It would definately cut down on the amount of annoying AI threads in the GT forums. 👍

I suspect that the real problems with the AI being not being that good is that the AI actually do have to race their cars... a lot of racing games just move the AI forward a stretch in the road when the player is massively ahead and vice versa when behind... in GT the AI has always been limited to actually driving a car that has X amount of HP and y amount of torque and z amount of grip... I actually prefer this rather than in games like Mariokart where you can be winning the entire race due to better driving skill get hit by a blue shell 2 seconds before the finishing line and watch as 5 people go past you!!

To make the game harder they could release the limits on the AI cars and give them more power (when they're not meant to have it) but that would make it unrealistic... The problem PD actually have is that they have to program the AI perfectly instead of using shortcuts that a lot of arcade games use.
