There will be tire wear, so pitting is not technically necessary, but VERY recommended! You can use tire strategy to maximize your time in the pits and on the track, so it will be an important factor.

I was running trials with my Takata NSX, and it got 7 laps in Toyko, when I had to pit:(
Also, if anyone plans on using any JGTC's, any difficulty under 2ish, the competition is only rally cars, and gets hard to pass for a lap or two. But, on the contrary, on 10, the competition, is barely difficult.
Just wanted to put that out there.

Edit: are the weights cumulative?, (if not ignore) because if they are most of us are gonna get to +10 weight mid series. I'd suggest making the sum for the total weight penalties 0 (for example if 10 drivers: 1st +3, 2nd +2, 3rd +1, 4th - 7th +0, 8th -1, 9th -2, 10 -3, so total race penalty weight = 0) But I've never run a race series with weight penalties before, so it might be fine.

Usually the wt penalty is for the next race only. Example:

Race 1 you finish first. Race 2 you run with the 3% penalty from the "stock" or starting setting from the original race thread. Race 2 you finish 6th, so in race 3 you would run at 0% penalty or back at the original "stock" or starting setting. Race 3 you again finish 1st. You're back at 3% penalty for race 4. And so on. If you miss a race you come back in at whatever race penalty you would have had if you had continued without a break.

Here is a brief example that RACECAR used for the last SuperGT. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=130544 Post #5.

That's the way it was for GTPLMS and SuperGT in the past that I remember. But the race organizer has the final say. He is the boss.

That's right, I'm the boss!

I was thinking cumulitive, but ultimatly, I had not thought of any other way of doing it...

by cumulitive, I mean all weight penalties are added and subtracted for each race, including previous results, and if weight was maxed, move to power.

:scared: YIKES! I think it would be simpler to use the SuperGT example rather than messing with power! By the end of the series everyone would be very slow.

Probably best to go with the SuperGT style.

NEW DECREE!
Weight will be added/subtracted for the participants next race only. this will not cumulate over the series

All tyre variations are allowed. The user will choose their own tyre strategy

Please note, Round 1 information sheet is up in the Long Race Series forum, located within this link

G'Day all :)

My good friend and Racing buddy, oldmodelt informed me about this, so here I am if you will have me.

driver - viperin
Car No. - 55
Car - Ford Falcon XR8 ( its heavy and chews tyres but it served me well in the V8 SuperCar tourney so I have a soft spot for it).

Well done on setting up the series, I am afraid I am finding GT5 very tedious and I doubt it will have any replay value for me, so I am pleased to be doing this.

Later doods !!

Welcome to the jungle viperin

glad to see someone is using the falcon (even though i'm slightly more partial to holdens)

If your a new entrant, and I forgot to give you a shout out, I'm sorry. please double check the entrants list to make sure I have included you.

Probably not... I think you should probably submit your car change before hand. I can tell you are using the race as a test, and I don't have a problem, but others might... just saying

If the race organizer permits, I would like to formally change my car choice:

AUDI A4 Touring Car 2004 (GER) (-1%)

I find that unlike Viperin with his Falcon, I do not have the necessary talent to handle this beast (Lister Storm 12) when compared to the Audi. For me, it seems the Audi handles almost like a MR, which suits my driving style. Although I do enjoy a challenge, my schedule might not allow me to fully explore the enjoyment that that Lister might give me. :banghead: And the Audi is a car that I never have driven extensively before. Having used the TT almost exclusively in BSpec to pile up tons of credits in the DTM series. :guilty:

On a funny note. My cheapness never ceases to amaze even me. While checking out all the cars. I found that I didn't own the Toyota Denso yet and had to purchase it just to test it out. :grumpy: Almost didn't buy it until I realized that the 10 million in credits I still had were not going to used anytime soon. :dunce: And that I was saving them for that rainy day that probably never going to come.

Yeah i had to buy the Denso as well (but it is the car i chose to race in), and i also have about 10 million in credits from getting to 100% just sitting around. (i want some interest on that please PD) :)
But the $1,350,000 (from memory) Denso price tag was more than ive spent (apart from 4xblack used cars) on any car i think. (so this might be the first new or legendary car i've paid over $1,000,000 for).

well.... I didn't mean to get you broke. except for 10 million spare credits.

Not a problem. See you at the R246!

I have forgotten how much I've spent on cars. I was lucky to help ABud and RACECAR in the last 2 GTPLMS and SuperGT series. So I had to buy all the cars that we tested. Good thing I had done the DTM trick with BSpec Bob and had well over 30,000,000 in credits.

But it's not like it is real money. :dopey:

Well I've not raced here for a little while so why not. May be a bit rusty though...

Name: ABud
No.: 6
Car: AUDI A4 Touring Car 2004

Will be good to get GT4 out again, and nice to see a few of the old faces again:tup:

Here is my official Car Choice for the GT4 Survivor Series:

User Name: Kingofweasles
Class: JGTC (? If there's only one class of racing, why is this option here on the sign-up Sheet?)
Car: Honda Takata Dome NSX (JGTC)'03
Number: 86

Hello. With the whole classes thing, when I first came up with this series, I was debating whether to run either Formula Gran Turismo only, or Touring cars. I must have forgotten to remove one or two remaining clues about this.

Dont forget that the round 1 (Tokyo R246) deadline is Monday 24th January. Try to submit by the Sunday please

Sure, i'm in... I'm just very very busy until friday... So i'll do the race saturday or sunday and submit. Since I live in europe I'm about 5 hours ahead of USA and 2 hours ahead of greenwitc, UK. Plz advise me what power/weight settings (+-1,2%) I should make to be more fair.

I would love to join since no one joined my GT5 Time Trial Series. I would like to enter in the Ford Falcon XR8 '00. My Number will be #4!

WAIT. I'M FREAKING OUT. Is it possible that a large static shock on the outside of my slimline would break it? The reset light is red, and when I go to power it on it simply does nothing. No disk spinning, no noise whatsoever. And the light stays red... help! D:

Have you tried to switch off the power again, remove the socket and try it again somewhere else? You might have kaput the board it seems.

EDIT: Perhaps it's just the reset button broken.

Yes, I do think it's the reset button. I ordered the DVD remote which is supposed to be able to remotely power on the system without the reset button actually working. Crossing my fingers....
