I learned a long time ago not to dwell on things that are beyond my control. And I must admit, I've been much happier since then.

Got a formula for that? If so, You'll be even richer then DR. Phil.

Just a tad off topic, but is it too soon to talk about GT5 being delayed? We all know that news is just around the bend......:D

Kaz on GT5 on PS3, being grilled about the lack of damage:

KY: "Okay, I'll tell you a little secret, come closer."

game journalist leans closer

KY: "Just buy the damn game."

games journalist: "okay... when is it coming out?"

KY: "When the PSwhatever can accurately model pigs flying"

Kaz snickers.

like GT3 or Prologue, or... TOCA race driver 2 or San Andreas... There's plenty to keep us occupied...
Yep! And looking towards the months ahead I'll be busy with GTA San Andreas, Killzone, NFSU2, WRC4, Snowblind (if it's any good) etc.
I can't keep on playing GT3 though...I've completed it at least four times. And Prologue. I might give Toca Race Driver 2 a go though!

GT4 is history.....well, until March!

I'm beginning to think that GT4 is sooo perfect that KY is keeping the game for himself only. thus it'll never be released.

I think i'll have to buy myself GTA SA and Pro Race Driver 2 for now, I played GT3 the other night, but just can't extract anymore enjoyment out of it! Its the same with Prologue, except i'd had enough of it after a month (AI is so lame).
Unless GT4 comes out before Christmas - i'll probably forget about it.

God help us with all those delaying, but I guess SCEE found themselves in lot of truble. Do not want to defend anyone, but I guee if game is coming out in Japanese/CHN/HK and USA due to confirmed dates, then european localisation could really be the major problem.

As I understand laws of EU, all the things like audio-visual materials must come with options of usage of native languages of the countries in prior to other languages (because of that, all the DVD's in region 2 often comes with 15+ subtitle options). And in Europe it is a phuckn issue, just because of all the countries we have and richness of the languages. It is for all the countries in PAl which are in EU. But, other countries that are not in Eu also have their languages, and many, many of them are very big and important markets. With their languages, of course.

As I have digged from my knowledge of most "important" countries under the SCEE, they have to localise GT on following languages (excluding English, naturally, but notice that even English can differe in US and GB version): Italian, French, German, Spanish, Suomi, Chezck, Finish, Hungarian, Portugese, Greek, Hebrew (Israelis would probably call SCEE antisemitic if there was no Hebrew), Polish and probably Russian. So far - 13, with English 14. Notice that Israel is not member of EU, but it is very important and rich market for SCEE.

And just to have an idea about territories under the SCEE jurisdiction - and do not be amased when you see countries like Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Eritrea or Tanzania there - check out this link and try to understand a major problem they've been faced with right now - http://www.scee.com/about/territory.jhtml. And notice that almost every conuntry on that list (excluding EU members with similar languages) have their own language, including my country, Croatia. And I'm sure there will be no Croatia on language option list, but in my country everybody knows at least one other language, so it is no problem I guess. But in other countries it could influence the sales in big numbers.

I wouldn't be much happy if I was the Producer of Localisation in SCEE right now.

Yes i totally understand their problem but i think they could have started the tranlsation a bit earlier!!! Oh, and compliments to you amar212 your english is very clear, clearer than a lot of english-speakers here!!! :)

The reason that saudi arabia is in that list becuase the system used here is PAL ,and I would think that it also applaies to the other non EU countries :)

and if u didn't notice I'm from saudi and thats how I know that we use PAL ,the good thing is that I have an NTSC/UC PS2 so I don't have to wait for PAL ,and I've got it chipped so I can play with PAL also.;)

Yes, make that an evil smile...

I preordered GT4 yesterday from GameStop, and I know that it means nothing, but the cleark said that they are no longer being told Dec 14th for a US release, but now just December. If the game is delayed again for a US release, oh well. Nothing we can do about it and we will have a better game.

I preordered GT4 today as well (for the demo disc mentioned in another thread, which I'll get whenever it comes in). I asked the clerk if they had any updates on the release date, and apparently the date of Dec 14th is no longer locked, because as mentioned, he had no specific date. My guess is that it simply said "December 2004", and he surmised, no doubt from experience in release dates for games, that it meant the END of December rather than the beginning.. his guess was that we'd see it sometime around New Year's. Which makes me hope that the demo they're handing out really IS of GT4, and that it's more functional than the Toyota demo (i.e. more than two cars, and no time-limit).

Cool guys! I preordered mine with GameStop a couple weeks ago too! I also asked if there was/is going to be a demo available. He looked it up on his computer and told me, "Nothing, yet." But hell, it was obvious he didn't know any 'insider' info. :\

Well, the demo information just came out last week (there's a thread of it a couple pages back about "American Demo"). The demo is confirmed, but there's no information on when the demo will be released (because of the overly-flexible release date), nor is it confirmed that the demo is actually a GT4 demo. But since it's distribution seems to be linked with the game's release, my guess is that it is a GT4 demo. Only time will tell. I asked about it when I called the other day, and confirmed today, he said they'd call me when the demo came in, and because I already have the preorder slip (paid in full, thank you very much.. hehe), I can just swing by the store and grab the demo whenever they get it.

This is a cunning plan on the pardt of PD to stop foolish people from playing G4. They'll buy the demo, thinking they've got the full game whereas the rest of us will be happy!
