Gt4 Release Date

So they're planning to release a demo at the same time as the full game? Is it just me or does that sound weird to you?

Shhhhh there is no full version of the game, it's an urban myth ;)
 
I assume that the GT4 for Japan has gone gold and is currently about to be pressed. There is only 37 days until its release there. As for the US release I would expect a confirmation of the date by the 13th or 14th November, perhaps sooner. Strange, in a way, that the European date is confirmed as Feb 23rd...late but confirmed (I say confirmed but we all know dates can slip), whilst the US date is earlier but not confirmed...
 
We all know what that means, the european date isn't confirmed at all... if Gt4 does come out in the US earlier than xmas could a PAL user with a fliptop system tell me if Gt4 works with it? That will definitely decide whether i get one or not!!

I really am not sure. Still waiting for may Swapmagic disc and a copy of GT3 (US) to try it on. However, I do know GT4 will come on a dual layer DVD9 (8-9GB) DVD disc and therefore those discs may not work . It depends on the TOC (table of contents) of the game. A really big one (and GT4 strikes me as being really big) is too much for the 4.25GB swapmagic disc. At least that's what it says on the official site. swapmagic site That's why I've decided to get an import PS2 anyway, even though I have those discs coming! It looks like games on DVD9 discs can't be used unfortunately. And seeing as GT4 COULD be out on the 23rd Feb (however plausible or implausible that may be) unless you're thinking of getting plenty of import games (as I am) it may be better to bite the bullet and wait. :sick:
 
Not a chance, slackbladder, though surely the swapmagic company should try and make one that does 8-9GB discs? it shouldn't be too hard, should it?

I'm in Canada and I'm not nervous at all because on the EB boutique website the release date is still Dec. 14 2004 ( check my post about the online version for the URL )

Anyway, we in North America deserve a favour from PD because:
1) We didn't get the GT4 Prelude
2) We missed some of the best Rally games: no WRC2, no WRC3 and no Richard Burns nor CMR4 for the Playstation2

At least there is some justice :)

If they don't get iut until February, we won't get it until may, etc. etc. I'm sure the time gap will remain...
 
The 2 houses work independandtly so I wouldnt imagine It would effect the PAL release at all.

Im still slightly sn-iggering at the thought.....I must be going slightly deranged :)

anyway, I'm going to ignore what you said about it being delayed here in North America. You spiteful bastard.
 
Ok guys, I was at the mall so I stopped by at the local Game Stop to just see how the progress was coming on the December release of GT4. So I asked him thinking I'd hear "Sometime in Dec" but much to my surprise he says "Oh...hmm thats weird" I started to get a little nervous and he goes and tells me that its been pushed back again on his computer to Jan 4th now. He added that he can look up anything else because it wont let him. I'm not sure how accurate their information is but I thought I would pass it along. From the looks of it though it sounds as if he was looking up the release date on some Game Stop network kinda thing but who knows. All he could find out was it was pushed back to Jan 4th and that it wouldn't let him open anything about it like other games. I'm starting to think this game is never coming it...the wait is killing me!!! damn just let us have it already
 
I just called EB games and GameStop and both confirmed December 14th. They both think it's very unlikely to have it delayed again for more than a week or two at this point.

I work at a game store (has something to do with "not going")
Middle of January at the earliest.
And really, no word why...

That's okay, I guess.
Gives me a little more time for San Andreas, Ratchet&Clank, and Halo2 before I have to put all my time into GT4.

(i'm pretty sure i've said that already in this forum so don't bother moaning if i have, i really mean it!!!) Bummers to this then, i'm going to play games that the developers can actually be bothered to release... (Toca race driver 2 for example)... :) :) :)
 
Each and every day that I don't get my hands on that game , is a lucky day FOR THAT GAME ...
Because the day when I put that disc in my PS2 , it's NEVER coming out of there again . :sly:

IMHO..the game isnt' as good as the first one! In game views of the tracks and other cars is horrid! Playability though online I've not checked out as of yet!

I think it's great fun, but limited in scope.

The racing is tight, and DFP support is good. Put it on Pro sim mode and you can have a blast, especially in the V8 supercars, Trans Am jag, and open wheel races.

No but i will god damn be getting it, i have heard so many good things about it and it also apparently does what gt never could, race more than 5 opponents at once!
 
Think ill order it online tonight, might put in a order for GTA:sa and Killzone while im at it, cant be bothered to mingle with the hords of Xmas shoppers already out and about, Bah Humbug.

I think my mood has something to do with not getting GT4 this side of xmas.

Also anyone Know when Ace Combat 5 is due out?
 
1st of february i think, though we all know dates are subject to change, especially on this forum... I think i'm going to forget about Gt4 for a while, i can't really be bothered with it. On the off chance it comes out before i pass on, i might perhaps take it up, though i'ms ure there weill be many better games out by then...
