Yes, i much prefer the lighter version. Oh and funnily enough i've just warned a newbie in another forum about the what-not-to-dos of forum posting. Looks like i need to warn you too! :) :) (i mean your double-post, there is an edit button, you know!) Boy, i'm being really harsh tonight. Must be the weather... :grumpy:

Well, an interesting tidbit for some of the naysayers... IGN has revised their release date YET AGAIN.. hehe. Where it was March 2005, now it reads an astonishing December 14, 2004. :D
 
^ I think we can all see that IGN is not a site you should trust. This whole release date fiasco has been fueled by bad information from the IGN website.
 
Oh, I agree wholeheartedly.. but a lot of people take IGN to be THE END ALL AND BE ALL OF GAMES!!!!! and will faithfully believe what IGN posts. Now that IGN is back on the 12/14/04 bandwagon, it should shut a lot of people up.

pft, unlikely! oh and no i don't take ign to be the be all and end all of games, i know what thewy're like. In fact, i don't really trust any sourxe at this particular point in time...
 
I only use IGN for screenshots and Arwin's column GT4 Life, which is always pretty good.

Like the newspaper, don't believe enrything you read on the Internet.
 
I'm an insider. They have some cool content, and hi res vids.

I never trust anyone's release dates, other than the ones straight from the horses mouth.
 
Do you think the American release date will change in the last hour?????

I mean we are in November, its just a month more for the release date, and KY nor Sony havent changed the release date for Japan or America...

what do you think?????
 
I dont know what to make about all this confusion, but my EB games store here in toronto, still stands by dec 14 as the release date. Jeez all this waiting is making me go crazy, over a F@#$^% game, i cant believe I'm so feeble minded argh. Tis our greatest weakness :D lol.

It would be absolutely ludicrous for Sony not to release the game b4 or during the holyday season. I mean isnt that the whole point. Theres no way, unless the Japanese are stupider (lol) than I initially tought, that they would commit such gross mistake....NEVER.

I mean I'm buying a PS2 for this game alone, and nothing else, well maybe the Winning Eleven Series, they better be legit about this and deliver the package on time damn it.

And they're delaying the European version till after the holidays, so why wouldn't they do that with America..?
 
Simple.. they'd lose millions of dollars in holiday sales. If they release the game on the 14th (like they SAID they would), they'll sell more copies in those ten days before Christmas than they would in the entire month of January and February if the game was delayed until the new year.

Besides, they've blamed the European delay on the vast number of languages they have to translate the game to. The North American release will be in only one language.. English. And quite a bit of the game is in English already, which means the translation process isn't going to take that long. Oh, about two weeks, we'll say. Which would put the NA release at... oh, my... December 14th.
 
Don't you think they will lose millions with not releasing the game before christmas here? Same case, if they are willing to risk it, why not in America... Surely they could just release an English PAL version with the metric system to make those millions...
We don't know the percentage of completion of the game, that's the whole problem. They could bring up some lame excuse and delay the NA version aswell.
 
If they could release it before Christmas in Europe, they would... But for reasons probably beyond our knowledge, they have to release it all in one shot, rather than one country at a time in that country's native tongue. Which means waiting until ALL translations are complete. You guys ought to be used to it by now, you get all games long after their overseas releases. And you get some games that we DON'T get, games that are Europe-exclusives.

As for the NA release, two regions out of three for Christmas is certainly preferable to only one region out of three.

Percentage complete.. probably pushing 99%, if not scraping at 99.9%. The December 3rd release date in Japan is locked, meaning it'll no doubt go gold within the next two weeks. Once the game is finished for the Japanese crowd, the only thing left is to translate. The game itself will be locked.
 
maybe some of you guys might of forgotten but GT3 had the same problem. I was suppose to be released for the holidays and was pushed back to spring. this sucks
 
I think he is referring to the possibility of the game being pushed back as what is goin to "suck".
 
Which is still just wild speculation. There is no information whatsover to indicate that the game will be pushed back. Retailers don't decide when the game is released, Sony does. And Sony is still saying December 14th.
 
I was reffering to if it was pushed back. I dont think it will be released before xmas. but hey prove me wrong
 
I think IGN brought the date back to December 14th... :) don't hold your breath though, at GameStop they say the game is not gonna be out until the 4th of January now (instead of 2nd)....

the 4th of january instead of the 2nd? I haven't heard either of those two dates before. Where did they come from? I think they're just screwing with you, December 14th is the only "official" release date for US and 1st Feburary 2005 the PAL version (i.e. europe, middle-east, australia etc.) The PAL version has to be released in one version for all languages otherwise, nowadays its "biased against" the languages that weren't included. All sorts of riots would erupt if they released Gt4 pal in say january and it was only english, french, german, italian and spanish, for example.
 
Well, I had to stop by GameStop yesterday to pickup a game that I had reserved, and they told me that they update their database everyday and it currently says that GT4 should be out on the 4th of January/05. But they don't know why... they just read what their database has as the release date (which by the way is not the same as their "online" dates). go figure... I bet they are just trying to cover their ass in case of another probable delay.

Oh well, maybe that is the date then, play.com says 1st february, and i thought they had the official date. Yeah come to think about it i think it is the 25th. Damn them! Well, not as if it really matters, i'll be very surprised if thats when the game actually comes out. Come to think of it, i'll be quite surprised if the game actually comes out at all... at least on the PS2.

This happens with every eagerly awaited game... Just wait.. The game will come out when it comes out...
