GT4 track you hate most

I love all of the tracks in GT4 except maybe the 10k test course. It would be awesome if it were actually able to allow you to test out the car rather than drive at high speed and turn left.

Braking points, my man. Find those braking points...turn in...and learn just how much or how little throttle to give as you make these surgical curves. But you gotta learn to brake early and precisely to master Suzuka.

El Capitan is cake, man! Check it out!

The part where you go under the first tunnel and come out over that hill? The Ai doesn't know how to drive this area at all! They brake 3...4 times during this entire transition from the tunnel, up the hill, at the crest of the hill, and again down the hill.

Those dumbasses!!! Eventually you'll find you might only need to brake once during this entire transition. YOu'll fly by the Ai as you come down the hill...the main thing you'll need to worry about is NOT HITTING THEM FROM BEHIND as they get scared and slow down way too much.

Other than this, the rest of the track is (again) all about good braking points, tho you don't need to be as precise as you were at Suzuka. Alot of the braking points at this track happen very early (especially in those long undulating curves. Tap your brakes again at any moment as you go thru those longer curves if your car starts to understeer.

Yeah i used to be the master at el capitan races, at first i thought i was cheating and cutting the track or something, then i watched the AI and saw them braking as soon as they leave the bridge, i can skip from last to first in under 2 seconds, but nowdays i drive the same as them through there, to keep it fair ;)

*Folds arms*. Since you're an active member, you do know the rule about double posting right? Oh guess what guys, the track i now swear at the most is: George V. Not because i can't drive it, but because i don't see the point in it. At all. I mean, you only drive it 5 laps at most...

oh gawd! sorry about that, completely forgot, well tis my first offense, i think im allowed one warning ;)

I never liked George V. I hate most of those really close quarter curcuits.

I just drove George V the other day. Maybe something's wrong with me but I friggin' DIG it! I finally had a chance to re-use the '90 Honda CR-X again to zip thru these streets! 👍

...then again, I'm only doing the easy races. Maybe I'll hate doing George V with harder ones.

well i first raced on George V in the special conditions, so i came up against the likes of group B rally cars and Renault 5's, not fun, when all i had was an EVO 3!!!

i went back with a turbo 205 and kicked ass! But i still dont like the high rumble strips which are right next to the walls, if you hit the strips when knocking time off a lap, you catch air and go straight into a wall, picking up a 5 second penalty. On every corner!

I just raise my car a lot. 💡 And loosen the springs and front dampers. Still had a little problem with some bouncing, but it wasn't nearly as bad as when I had my Civic lowered all the way.

how can people hate motegi? that track is bloody brilliant.

I can't say i like the Canadian Snow rally course...Charmonix is beautiful, and...hmm....other than that...I kinda like em all...

Well i did do that after a couple of goes on the track, but it didnt help at all, probably just a problem with oldskool evo's, tried in a spe c and didnt have the problem though.

Motegi is hardly brilliant. It's a decent, worthwhile course. A few landmarks for the braking points would be nice, but at least it's not full of snide little tricks like Suzuka is.

I think I've said this before. Motegi is a great technical course, it definitely takes some mastering; but it's just so dull! The landscape reminds me of all the grass I had to cut when I was 13. :indiff: The only thing cool is that dormant volcano in the distance....and then most of the time I forget it's even there!

Suzuka is full of tricks, but it's also full of variety visually. 👍 Every time I need to do a race here I look forward to it. 👍 Motegi and Tsukuba are challenging as well, but to me they are just another paycheck. :indiff:

How can you guys not love the sunset? I guess I've taken too many photos there, because i love the track.

I dislike Suzuka...it's not hatred, but i just can't master the track.

Hong Kong, I found, went from ungodly mess in GT4, to a masterpiece in TT...did anyone else notice this, or did i just have a moment of clarity on how to drive the track in TT?

Wow, thats messed up. And I thought I had it rough at 13.

There's a volcano?!!:scared:

Yes. Look at the map of Twin Ring Motegi. Go to the lower left corner of this map. I believe the volcano is in the distance as you look away from the track.

the problem with the volcano is that nowadays, every time i go round the track, i see if i can spot it, then i overshoot the mark and spin off into a big metal wall :scared:

George V Paris is all about rhythm, it's best to slow down more than usual when in the lead, since there isn't much room for the AI to overtake you. Also try not to use the curbs on turns unless your in a car that has a high ride height (rally cars for example, which you've used). I beat the Renault 5 on that track with a (tuned) Lancer Evolution III pretty easily, all you got to do is take your corners carefully, or bump/push the AI car into a wall. :dopey:

yeah i raced a 5 too, this time round i used a tvr cerbera. Pretty low ride height and i just avoided the cerbs, before hammering the little R5 into the wall...*cough* ;)

Now is that really necessary? 👎 Get your cornering down pat so you won't need to "hammer" anyone. It's so much more rewarding.

Well i never ususally bash cars, but when the R5 bumps into the back of me, and I get the 5 second penalty, revenge is due. ;)

Impossible...you'll never get a penalty from an impact on the rear half of your car. I know, because i wall rode Grand Canyon Hard the entire way.

both Paris tracks 👎
what were they thinking...

Hong Kong is a fairly dull and boring track, though if it were high speed run on the expressway to the airport it would have been different.
