Cobra, just stop it man, your about the only person who still thinks GT4 looks better then doom 3, proof enough of your eye problems I think. And GT4 DOES NOT look like that in game. It will look like GTp, but with some 3d people, and some SLIGHT improvements.

Hell even that shot isn't that impressive, low res textures on the car, stupid looking blacked out windows, and next to no reflective qualities on the bodywork.

Well this is all opinion code. Maybe you can't comprehend what an opinion is but Doom3 has a whole different art style than gt4. Maybe I dont like the doom3 look, sure it's graphics are better but I'm all about visuals. Forget all that tech stuff and you seem too slow to understand that.

Who said the ingame quality couldn't be shown in photomode? The main thing that Photo Mode adds: several non-playable backdrop environments and higher resolution displays. That. Is. It.
It doesn't improve the texture resolution. It also does other picture tricks.

That video is great in matchbox mode, anything downsized that much would look good, but enlarge it at a little and it looks much rougher.

In game resoloution will not be the same as any of the pictures officially released.
And none will look as good as that unless you play GT4 on a 5inch Tv.

Stop twisting my words to make your pathetic point. Doom3 is better in res and textures, so what, gt4 looks more realistic. Where gt4 falls, it makes up with realistic colors and near perfect gobal illumination which no other racer this generation has got right.

You should just express your opinion politely then, instead of ragging on other game's graphics constantly as if you have an inferiority complex. Say: "Man! GT4's art direction is miles ahead of Forza's" instead of: "GT4's graphics are unparalleled, *insert other game title*'s graphics are unrealistic blah blah blah".
For instance, I for one think MGS2 looks way better than Splinter Cell because the art design is better IMO, and the animations are better as well. But never would I say it has better graphics, because that would be silly.

You're just digging a hole.
 
Forza looks so god damn rubbish!.....Its look way to clean, everything is shiny and looks so cartoony and unrealistic......In terms of graphical power and poly count it may well be better but it looks really bad compared to GT4......Forza looks like the cars should be moving or something......more like a photo shoot than racing.....

GT4 owns all racing games.......nothing comes close.......reason why?......cos it aint GT is it!!!

Yes yes, Forza and GT4 are going to be great, but you guys keep leaving out the other competitor. Since Forza is XBOX"s forst sim racer, it should sell really good.

BUT, Enthusia and GT4 both sit on the PS2. And many people are going to have to decide whether or not to get GT4, or Enthusia. I have a feeling Enthusia will be more of a competitor to GT4 than Forza. Both games are looking great, and not to mention, Enthusia makers have been keeping alot of Enthusia under wraps which keeping a few GT4 lovers wondering how it will turn out.

Ofcourse it is :dunce: but when you compare gt4's lighting to other racers, gt4's seems to have the more natural looking lighting.

Thats the same video and looks just as rough as if you enlarged your original link.
Its Hardly a high quality video, its blurry as hell, and you can still see the jaggies on the skyline at times.

For a comparison, check out the high quality images that were released prior to prologue even the very early ones from Tsukuba, then actually play prologue and the difference is quite a dissapointment.
Even though the game actually looks quite good, the Pics are just much better than the game in reality.

MGS2 Looked Cack, and lacked atmosphere.

And in case you're wondering, I captured these from Prologue myself. Forza is moving the right direction, but in terms of lighting Prologue surprisingly has the advantage over the MS powerhouse. I think it has to do with the GeForce3's obligatory pixelshading (you can't switch it off), where Prologue uses local transparent vectors to blurr only certain parts, allowing for a better contrasted picture and better focus simulation.

throughout this entire thread they have butted in with there 'points' totally slamming Forza for no good reason this thread was here to discuss the good and the bad but the pair of you can't see mush further than the tip of there nose....

No one here is slamming GT4 will you please get that through your thick heads we are merly comparing both game's

NOW, Enthusia does a way better job. Forget GT4 competeing with Forza, go with Enthusia. Both have great cars, realistic graphics, and Enthusia even matches GT4 with the way the cars handle, sound, and even levels of detail.

Maclaren, how do you know this??? Have you played all 3 games? No, so shut it.
Let all 3 come out, THEN decide which is better, crazy I know, but I find it works. TBH you only say ENTHUSIA matches Gt4 because it's on the ps2, don't lie now, I know how you people think. tsk!
