It's not trying to fit the GT mould it's attempting to create it's own identity which unique features that have not been seen before.

I'm not bashing GT4 before anyone rushes to defend Gran Turismo, i'm just pointing out Forza's good points.

Many people on this forum are narrow minded and fail to see the obvious good and bad points in both games, and fail to see that there only game's neither game will change the course of history but what they will do is give us mindless peon's a chance to unwind in front of the TV with some of the world's greatest car's and track's..

I for one am rooting for both game's

Too bad ign hasn't played the build opm uk played. I want to see what others think of the build OPM uK calls hardcore. They said gt4 is going the way of pc sims and they must be right because they weren't fund of gt3 and gt concept. That's the e3 build of forza but that doesn't matter because ign hasn't played any other version of gt4 besides the e3 build.

I say move it too. Forza can't hold a candle to GT4 so move this **** to the gaming board and let it die there. :)

Both games are not released how can you say Forza doe's not hold a candle to Gran Turismo I can name numourous things Forza has over Gran Turismo....

Physics on par with GT [Based on E3 demo]

Damage [Yes real drivers are not perfect like "YOU" and yes they do crash unlike "YOU" and YES they do damage there car's unlike "YOU" after all "YOU" are PERFECT...... riiiiiiiiiiightt]

Drivetar [AI that learns from your style]

Exotics [Ferrari, Porsche yeah these manufacturers have a genuine racing pedigree unlike the 50hp crap GT4 has]

Graphics [Simpily look stunning look at videos i've posted]

Dynamic Track's [Racing line is formed over time with SKIDMARKS doe's GT4 has these ummmm and OIL SPILL again GT4 lacking]

What GT4 has over Forza

Photomode [Yeah you can take pictures of your virtual car, PC users have had this for YEARS it's called PRINT SCREEN + PHOTOSHOP sooooo inventive]

Drive Force Pro [Devloped by Logitech but with the GT4 badge hmmmmmm I guess it means it's GT4 only]

500+ Cars [Yeah mabye I'll drive like 50 regular the rest are **** i'd not even look at in real life never mind waste my time and drive virtually]

Graphics [Yeah there good they trick the eye and use good use of effects but upon close inspection you see how low resolution it really is although i doubt anyone will inspect that close :)]

You can't say forza has graphics over gt4, that's all opinionated and I perfer a more photorealistic look. Physics, please. That preview contradicted its self by saying forza was on par with gt4 but the physics were more forgiving than the physics in gt4. Plus, has ign played the build opm uk played? You dont know if gt4 will have lambo, ferrari, or porsche. So no one can call that. How much do we know of gt4's AI and are there any forza vids that are evidence of amazing AI? If so point me to it. Gt4 has more cars than forza, more modes, better driving experience, if you have the wheel and more variety. You are just a forza sheep on a Gt site, how ironic. But I'm confident in knowing gt4 will be the better and more complete game than forza.
 
A game can have accurate physics and be forgiving too, thats what the driving ads are for. It said it hand;ed like GT4, which means better it's than GT3 no matter what build they played. As for Forza's AI, I don't think you'll need to know ore than read abou the guy thats built it, however there may be a problem that it might get too good. We know GT4 has more cars, big + IMO, but we don't know if it will have more modes, chances are it will but we don't know, we also don't know if it will offer a better driving experience, again chances are it will, but we don't know. And Cobra, don't try to call anyone a Forza fanboy when your so blatantly a GT one, why can't you step into the middle of the road and see what ways Forza is better like the tuning options which I'm making a presumption on here, since the chances are GT4 won't allow you to swap parts from other cars, especially engines, but I wish it would.
 
I don't see how someone can be so confident that a BRAND NEW GAME with NO reputation can possibly TOP GT4. The Gran Turismo series has kicked butt, is going to even more with GT4, and it always will. Need proof? This forum. Would it be here if the game sucked? no. AND it's a greatest hits game. AND no other game has beat it in what it does best: provide the best simulation of driving that any game.

I'll admit, Forza LOOKS kinda promising, but how many games have had all this new crap and failed miserably, with their original plan of "throwing gran turismo out the door" DEAD. SEGAGT2002, just to provide an example.
I'm behind Gran Turismo 4 all the way, because really, nothing else has even had a chance with competing on the same level as KY's creation.

Before GT1 came out, did you presume it would be crap since there wasn't a decent sim around on a console then and PD's previouse experince was making Motor toon GP? I am sure GT4 will be the more complete game, but I'm still giving Forza the chance it deserves, to slag it off before you've even played it like so many here is stupid.

Look at the video's i've posted, the drivers who drive the car's are bad drivers but you do see the AI occasionaly.

How much do you know of gt4's tuning options? again, this is a no call because how much has PD released about gt4? PD is playing it cool with gt4's info and I like it. The forza team just tells it all, for all we know, PD could capitalize off of forza's goods. Back to the tuning talk, I'll just reinform you of this preview

Do you know what photorealistic means? It's just an art technique that resembles reality with great attention to realistic detail and gt4 does just that. Ofcourse, that's opinionated. ign can mislead alot, so I wouldn't run with their word. Go read previews eh? Point me to the previews that suggest forza has better physics and please dont use ign because they love to mislead.

NO Interiors [very minimal]

NO Damage

Photorealistic doe's not spring to mind but in your world where no one crashes and rubber doe's not leave the tire and no one ever need to reverse..

w00t Photorealism for the third dimension...

and don't give me the crap PS2 is not powerfull enough games have been doing the above since PS1
 
what does photorealistic, a art technique have to do with skid marks, or interiors or reverse lights? By that logic, a nex gen game that look exactly like reality but doesnt have the things you suggest wouldn't be photorealistic?

what i'm suggesting is for this paticular "artistic peice" the artist clearly has not studied his subject closlely enough and therefore recives an F (F= Fail) for Photorealism, for missing the most basic things are car has and can do..

Please write this out 100 time's

Car's Can lay down rubber
Car's have reverse lights
Car's Have Interiors
Car's have Damage
Car's can flip

NFS has all those features but it doesn´t look photorealistic to me..... oh wait, that has nothing to do with photorealism...
 
Tell that to sony for making the ps2 too weak. Not pd's bad, they could make some out of the world visuals and features if it wasn't for the ps2. Gt4 on a high-end pc would seriously own. But hey, reverse lights could easily be in the final build.

where did I imply anything was better hmmmmmmmm

I was just letting "my opinion" be known that I don't think GT4 is as Photorealistic as people make out, and it is missing out on alot of basic things that real car's and races have. You have jumped the gun implying that I was saying Forza is more Photorealistic than GT4, at the end of the day I regard them as game's with some photorealstic elements but there's no chance in hell i'd mistake either game for reality as long as there at a decent resolution.

I have to point out here that none of these points have and relation to "PhotoRealism" whatsoever except for "Car's Have Interiors".

However they do have relation to the word "Realism"...

fark, who cares if GT4 doesnt have interiors.
WTF are u going to look at when u are driving hard, the road or ur interior. So PD has to choose between the two.
PD can include all the things u ***** about, but the PS2 has it limits u know.
PD have to sacrifice many things, to keep it at 60fps and fun to play.
Am sure if PD were to make GT4 on a Very high end PC, it could include everything possible, and rip that GTR game to pieces.

But remember it only a PS2!!!! Not a farking supercomputer.
 
It would be cool if they had full interior for street cars and then once you've performed weight loss on it the interior turns into one/two seats a dash and a seat belt!!
