fark, who cares if GT4 doesnt have interiors.
WTF are u going to look at when u are driving hard, the road or ur interior. So PD has to choose between the two.
PD can include all the things u ***** about, but the PS2 has it limits u know.
PD have to sacrifice many things, to keep it at 60fps and fun to play.
Am sure if PD were to make GT4 on a Very high end PC, it could include everything possible, and rip that GTR game to pieces.

But remember it only a PS2!!!! Not a farking supercomputer.

Point One

"WTF are u going to look at when u are driving hard, the road or ur interior. So PD has to choose between the two."

I tend to look at my interior for fuel gauge, speedo, rpm counter and anything else a race car may include in the interior.

Yes I know GT4 has a HUD to display the above thing's but since you will never be in a realistic driving position in GT4, I can and will call the entire authenticity of GT4's driving "feel" since I cannot seem to recall the last person in the history of racing who drove on his bonnet :dunce:

Laziness Hell Yeah

Point Two

"PD can include all the things u ***** about, but the PS2 has it limits u know."

yeah the PS2 has it's limits which is why GT4 will be a mere update of GT3 with some flashy "Photomode [We call it Print Screen + Photoshop and have been doing it since the 90's]" and the Logitech DFP which was not developed by PD but GT boys enjoy throwing it as a + point to there game.
Yes GT4 is an ambitous project for the PS2 will it fufill it's hype.... mabye.. will Forza deliver on it's promises... mabye but i'll be willing to let both games have the chance they deserve...

Point Three

"Am sure if PD were to make GT4 on a Very high end PC, it could include everything possible, and rip that GTR game to pieces."

This statement shows the mentality of some GT Fan's, nothing but pure speculation i'm sure it would sell in it's millions, would it be missing the things I am suggesting most likely...

PD are not god's amoung men they are smart guy's who have been doing the same thing for years of course they will make a quality game will it be as good as it could have i'll leave that for your decision, anyone who dismisses Forza and Microsoft are obviously idiots...

20 fps...I strongly doubt that as 20 fps is unplayable, and the vids I've seen are DEFF over 20 fps. Play sega touring cars on the saturn, thats 20 fps. If for some strange reason it did run at 20, I wouldn't buy it, I don't fancy getting nausia playing a game.

Gt4 runs at 60 as it's low poly, no damage, no skid marks, no interiors etc, all it's doing is move car shaped blocks about a track with some decent physics, hell you can't even tip em over. Still, I choose frame rate my self.

Not developed by PD, but made for GT. So it is a +point to the game.

Front, it's not at 20, seriously. If it was at 20 fps, you would be able to tell. From looking at the vids, it's obviously going at 30.

20 would be a VERY bad thing.

I kinda figured that but these GT Fanboys latch to any point and milk it for all it's worth, i'm just saying don't trust an Interview trust your eye's 💡

It's smooth and 30fps looks to be the target for Forza :dopey:

30 isn't that great, granted it may be handling twice as much as gt4 (damage, interiors, higher detail etc), but 60 is SO SO SO much nicer.

Don't forget GT4 runs a low res as well, its more likely that its the High Res mode in Forza that is sucking up all the juice, since at double the Res it uses 4 times the memory per texture. But 20FPS..that must be a typo

Also on GT4 interiors...they do have some! In fact I was amazed that the FordGT has actually got the engine modelled, you can see it through the rear window...tbh I wouldn't have bothered with that, or complained about it missing. Alot of cars do have a fair amount of cockpit detail, from the distinctive curve of the dashboard fascia to the strange black shapless seats. "Poor interior detail" yes, but "no interiors"...not strictly true... ;)

Also we've all seen the convertable footage, including the AC Cobra...how much of that interior detail makes it into the final version is yet to be seen, once again.."no interiors" what?

btw I love this thread..its such a funny read

I've read that same statment but it said it's running at 30fps and it will handle as 180fps, so it is a typo.

Dude, Front.. Loads of those Links (Video Links) arent working. Not at this point atleast (can anyone second that, if they've experienced it?)
I really wish to see some Forza Videos (in-game). Only video I have is the one from E3 I guess, its about 8 or 9 min video, and really crappy quality.. Though the screeners look awesome. And graphically it does look brilliant (without really comparing it with GT4).

Anyway, as far as I go, I own a PS2 at the moment. Had GT games since its first ever installment, and I dont see any reason that GT4 wouldnt be a kick-butt game.. Though Forza and Enthusia look awesome aswell.. And this Topic has been a great help, and also really funny at times.. Thanks for bringing such a great topic together. But I think it'll make more sense once both the games are out at this point of time I think loads of things can be described as "Speculations".

PS- More Forza Videos Links Please! :)

It's a french Forum but it's been translated by google and the list of videos are in there :)

Love the Skyline in those new screens looks very awsome :sly:

I've read that Enthusia will be coming to XBox

XBox line up | Forza, Enthusia, GTR
PS2 line up | Gran Turismo, Enthusia

Looks like an exciting time for console owners and racing simulations :)

Simple fact is, people hate Forza because its on the Xbox. Like they have some kind of grim belief that PD/Sony actually gives a $hit about the "little people", where MS don't. Who on earth are these disbelivers kidding? All developers are in it to realise some personal dreams, have fun, but above all ... make big money.

Forza, good or bad, deserves a chance to prove itself, personally with a PS2 and an XBox I don't care what console I play my racers on, hell I'm a great fan of the GT-R press demo on the PC and will buy that as soon as its out (as well as LFS S2!).

Its all good, more racing games coming our way this year and next, and I for one don't have any loyalty to any one platform - whatevers got the games, gets my vote, if its more than one platform, so be it, I'll have them all :p

Very very very small minded people around here sometimes, quite scary. Keep up the good work Front, I think you're putting accross a very dignified, controlled and objective opinion of both games, nice one. :)

I just saw the "must see" vid, very nice 👍 The first vids I saw sucked but this new one changed my view of the game...wish it had better lighting though.

But the vids are from the E3 showing. Who knows what the team has done since then.

At least we'll have a pro-sim mode in our version of race driver 2, but it's still pretty lame in comparison with GTR.
Well you can alway plug your DFP to PC and get GTR there...

I wonder how the final build of gt4 will compare to the final build of GTR. It seems PD has made the viewing field move with the car, GTR does that. OPMUK did say gt4 has gone the way of the pc sims in their preview of the latest gt4 demo.
