I've managed to improve a bit with :

T1 : 40.251

T2 : 1'22.219

but have managed a faster overall time with slower T1 and T2 times (go figure! ), so I think I can knock at least another 0.4 seconds off my best time.

Only time for 10 or so laps a night, so I'm hoping to nail an altogether lap with combines all my good sectors, but hey, aren't we all!! :)

Paul

Opppps. I have only raced this track once due to the fact that i let my b-spec driver do most of my racing.

Div 3 racer.

Well I'm finally happy with my time after two 1.5 hour sessions...

T1- 38.408
T2- 1:19.516
With the regular Driving Force, and no TCS. You just have to be careful with the gas out of the 'hillcrest bend'...what bugs me is that I lost heaps from T2 to finish in above lap (to my previous ghost, anyway...over half a second >_<).

Just a random tip you might already know for fellow D3-ers having trouble: Don't always try to take each turn as fast as you can. I found that, like the S-license test said, you have to always be ready for the next turn after the one you're on. I found that slowing down through certain turns (not sure if I can name them ^_^) really helped me get the proper line and go a lot faster through the next. I'm sure this is obvious stuff to all the fast people but it's a revelation for sucky-driver me.

yes, that is an excellent lesson you've learned. identifying sacrificial corners is absolutely paramount in shaving time from laps.

Yes it is okay to talk about anything other than your final lap time. 👍
Detailed descriptions of each and every corner, nook and cranny are always welcome. ;)

Ok then...well, here's some tips that have helped me out...hopefully it will for you too! :D

You know the right-left-left after the T2 checkpoint? Slow down for the first right, it really helps getting to the outside of the turn so you can get through the 2 lefts (and subsequently the high-speed section after) faster! Really helps!

Same with the the left after the downhill S (halfway through the first section)- which, by the way you can probably take with just a tap on the brakes- try to slow down early so you can power through the turn...

I think I know what I'm saying but maybe I don't. ^_^;; Your mileage may vary.

After a 1 and a half hour session I got these times.
T1=38.869
T2=1'19.412
I got my line down but i jest need to go a little faster :banghead:

The one thing I can be glad of my bottom of D3 worthy times is that I'll never be accused of cheating! :dopey:

I really should stop reading this during the day. All it does is make me want to go home and work on my lap times.

Here's the deal.

Please do not in any way violate the AUP or TOS of this site.

If I ban any one person for a violation I will be obligated to ban all people violating the AUP in a similar manner.

Next time this happens please refrain from vulgarities and insults.

Please bank on the rules of the WRS.

Rules:
Only discuss "T" times
Clean OLR Standards
2 wheels on track at all times
Rumble Strips are part of the track
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No hybrids
No Cheating of any kind
Save your best lap ghost
Submit the time listed in the ghost replay file name

Time Verification:
-The division 1 winner each week will be required to submit with verification.
-All divisions of racers are subject to a request of time verification, however, this does not mean all racers will be required to submit verification for each race.
-Once a request for the verification of a time has been made the racer in question must comply.
-Any request of verification must addressed by the racer in question with in 3 days of the request or the time in question will be removed from the database as well as the WRS results.

Now, with those rules in mind.
BreakMastaz,
This is a formal request for a replay.

You must get this replay to me before sunday at 4pm est.

If you fail to do so I will not publish your name in any results until you can provide replays for your laps.

This will also apply to any "fast" database submissions you make once the gtp leaderboards are up.

I wish you the best in your pursuit of proving you are a legitimate clean racer.

Now...
Please everyone, move along... nothing to see here!

And now back to our normally scheduled programme... :D

Had another session and improved my T2 time:

T1 = 0'38.646
T2 = 1'18.571

I know I can get another .2 to .5 in the first sector, but each time I try, I end up being overtaken by my ghost car in the second sector. So obviously, if I can't improve on that, then that is what I'll be submitting as my final lap.

BTW, just to add, I'm using a DS2.

BreakMastaz
i done a super time 4 a 30 min sesh.

t1- 38.130
t2- 1.15.665

the t2 time is wicked i just think that theres another 3 secs in the overall time somewhere espesially in the first sector. thats wiv tcs off i gonna try it on in a min when my thumbs have recovered.

:odd: You know that's really really Really fast?I'd say I can't wait for your replay but I haven't got a Max Drive :indiff:

If you have a replay:

Cheers,

Most of us have been there. You'll get lots of help and support here and you will get MUCH faster. I started doing OLR about a year ago and have moved from a back of the entire pack to a back of the division 1 pack, maybe a little higher if I put a lot of effort in. Most of my learning came from the WRS and all the helpful people here, in EVERY division. I have become good friends with a lot of them as well.

To the WRS...

Kent, excellent leadership mate!. 👍

I've been thinking about this. A T2 in the 15.6 range might be possible with this arcade combo, doubtful, but the possiblity is there I think. However there is no way that one could get that T2 with a T1 in the 38s, no way! One would need a T1 of at least low 36s, probably in the 35 range...

Other possibilities are that this person is running a tuned GT Mode car or another car all together. Even if you cut corners and rode the walls from the T1 line on, it is doubtful one could get that T2 time with that T1 time...

I just don't know...

PS. Excellent form Kent. 👍

Same for me, I haven't been racing for long, I think 4 or 6 months now but in that time I got from the bottom of div.3 to div.2 getting a second place as best result in the GT3 WRS.

Once you get the hang of it, you'll be up in no time 👍

30 laps later and only slight improvement :( (but i think that right now I know where can I cut 1 maybe 1.2 more seconds)

T1 38.632
T2 1.19.466

Firstly, great work with the leaderboard Luxy,

and secondly, if i was asked to validate a time how could i do it. I only ask so that I'm prepared if, or when I'm asked. How do the other UK WRS racers do it? I can record whatever's on the screen of my TV onto VHS, so would sending a tape of the replay to a verified WRS racer in the UK be OK. Or is there an easier way?

Buying a Max Drive :D 👍 Everyone who verificates their laps are using a Max Drive or something familiar.(I think) Correct me if I'm wrong.

I really should stop reading this during the day. All it does is make me want to go home and work on my lap times.

I just want to say to all of the new people joining the series, please, please don't be scared off by all the nonsense going on this week. Accusations and occurences of cheating in the WRS are few and far between (I can count the ones that happened in the two years of the GT3 WRS on one hand).

This week has had a bunch of extra nonsense (way, way more than usual), which most of the veterans around here expected. When a new series starts, it attracts a lot of new (and unknown, unverified people). Some of those people think they can push the rules, and it simply takes a few weeks of the rules being inforced, and the bad seeds usually get the picture.

If you're legit, and you build your skills, there's a very, very slim chance of being accused of cheating. Nobody here wants to prevent you from racing, improving or winning :D

....

Thought I'd add in my $0.02 about the WRS as well. I started out over two years ago (the original week 2) at the bottom of D3. Now I'm usually a mid-packer in D1. Everything I know about driving, I've learned from the WRS 👍

I mean this in the best way, trying to help...but it is amazing what 15 seconds on google can find.
OK, i get your point.

Anyway, i think i might have a theory on why BreakMastaz time is so strange, assuming it isn't geniune. Maybe ... he's not running it in reverse and is racing the normal way round. Or not?

I'm a total newbie at this sort of thing, but already I've noticed it's improved my track sense and general skill, it's really enjoyable pitting myself against human beings rather than the AI. It's a shame that no online option was included with GT4, otherwise we could have all been running this competition on that! Now that would have been so cool...

Anyway, I'm enjoying myself immensely (apart from the odd moment of frustration when I get pipped by my ghost car at the line) and I'm looking forward to the next race already! :D

I checked the general T times in the forward direction already. He was around 5 seconds slower at T1 and gained about 3 seconds on me in the T2 sector. Not likely to be THAT much slower at T1 then all of a sudden be WAY faster.

No worries, like I said I was just trying to help...I'm American and don't think in pounds, but that price seems pretty good to me as I remember paying around $25 for my max drive.

This combo don't suits me

39.102
1'20.172 :O

I don't know if I try it something more

(div. 2, DFP)

Another 10 laps, and 0.5 seconds off T1 and T2

T1 : 39.909
T2 : 1'21.653

but I've only managed to shave 0.14 seconds off my final time, so I am really struggling with T2 to the end. :grumpy: :banghead:

I'll have to read the above tips more closely, I look forward to improving with the GTP WRS.

Paul

(BTW DS2, Div 3 )

After 12 more laps I finally found a line through first sector, and I can run a consistent 38.1 / 38.2 (early braking was all I was missing)
Now I need to figure out how to go through the second sector fast enough.
Best clean save : 38.164 / 1'19.654
I start to like the combo.

Next time this happens please refrain from vulgarities and insults.

I didn't realise a yawn would be considered a violation of the AUP or TOS so I'm surprised you deleted that post along with my other non vulgar & non insulting post.

Moving on now.

PC STILL is not working.......
I ran a.....

T1- 38.256
T2- 1`18.700
super fast finish even though Ts are crappy, i love this track its, even SCENIC!!!!!

Whoever ran that 1`15 T2 i hope you know that wall riding and cheating general is not allowed and that if you keep it up Kent will make your WRS stay short lived.

Little update:
I've made a few tenths here and there, but the problem is that my fastest clean lap was on the 27th lap and I had a faster lap before that but i gave the wall a little love tap.
Anyways, my point is if there is any way i can only view the 27th lap?
I couldn't save my ghost lap cause of the faster dirty lap so i saved the entire 30 lap replay.
Does anyone know a way through the replay theater or something so i can only select the lap i want? or do i just have to fastfoward and sit through most of the replay until the lap i want comes up?
