Little update:
I've made a few tenths here and there, but the problem is that my fastest clean lap was on the 27th lap and I had a faster lap before that but i gave the wall a little love tap.
Anyways, my point is if there is any way i can only view the 27th lap?
I couldn't save my ghost lap cause of the faster dirty lap so i saved the entire 30 lap replay.
Does anyone know a way through the replay theater or something so i can only select the lap i want? or do i just have to fastfoward and sit through most of the replay until the lap i want comes up?

No...if you run a fast lap that you think might be your fastest but it's dirty you need to quit your session and back out of the time trial mode and re-enter otherwise your ghost lap will be the fastest lap of the entire session. Session meaning your entire session in the time trial mode, not just between going back to the entry screen.

Did that make sense?

There is no way to save just one lap out of your entire session replay. You can sit through the entire replay and record your time for that one lap but you won't be able to submit a useful replay for verification (if asked) since your only replay will be the entire session. While I suppose it would be valid, no one will want to sit through (even fast forward) your entire session to verify that one fast lap. Having to do that would be a worst case scenario.

Ok thanks for the quick reply Kensei.
Guess i screwed myself :)
Gotta try restarting the session everytime i'm behind my ghost.. was talking to iceman and it looks like i'm wasting a lot of time continuing laps even if i screwed them up royally.

IMO, no lap is a wasted lap. If you blow a corner, continue, don't restart. Refocus and move on mentally. Work on the next set of corners that give you issue or just get back into a rythmn so next time you cross the start/finish you'll be back on top. It also helps you to not get to flustered or too tense. Being able to focus and refocus yourself, even with a mistake, will help you not tense up and panic when you are on that one magic lap.

Not only that it makes it all more realistic. In real life if you blow a corner you can't just press "restart". Granted if you blow the corner enough that you pile into the wall and write off the car you won't be going on, but still you can't hit "restart" there either.

:)

Nod. 👍

Want to thank all here for the oppurtunity I have had just in this first week of running with you all. Good work on the leaderboard too Luxy. It lets me see that I am not relaly that bad at some times, just need to put the tread down little more consistantly. I know I will get better as the weeks go by, but isn't that what all this is about :) Have fun, learn, and improve. (Ok and win one or two maybe also :p )

Gah, it Friday here in Japan, and 9AM, and my fingers are twitching to be in my apartment running a few laps.

I do agree, as I blow a few corners to close, that I keep going so I can learn the rest better and let alone, the final pin, gives ya better speed on the exit than a fresh restart.

Am awaiting the arrival of my Max Drive and have been pondering the final desison on getting the DFP (GF still says it taking to long for me to get one :p )

my time is not strange! and i am not an ignorant dildo. you lot just must not be fast enough.

T1- 38.130
T2- 1.15.665

I dont know whats the problem with that? i consider it to be not to the best of my ability.
maybe take the last first bend of sector 1 slow and come into sector 2 very fast. i think!

anyway i will verify my time for you all.

T2 time of 1.15 is not, not obtainable.

Can you do one thing for me? Please check to see if you are running the right car and the right track. I don't know if your TV is blurry or something, but you might be messing that 5 up with an 8. Im just trying to help you here, because that time will not be accepted.

The problem is that you are more than 2 full seconds behind at the T1 mark. Then amazingly you are .4 faster than EVERYONE else at T2.

I will suggest what flat-out so kindly suggested 1st.
Check and make sure you have the correct car, in the correct mode (arcade) and the right track going the correct direction.

I'm so sure that you can't run THAT T1 and T2 in the correct combo that I will stake my real life car pink slip on it.

Not trying to be rude, it's just NOT possible.

i am not argueing this time! i will verify my time. and im not an idiot i know what car and track to run thank you. its not hard i will take more time off it if you really want embarassing?

It's not us that you are embarrassing.

Let's just not say anything more guys, obviously something is wrong here and Kent will deal with it, so lets just let it go 👍.

It is with a T1 in the 38s....

Good thinking...

right then im going to race now on TIME TRIAL, EL-CAPITAN REVERSE, WITH A NISMO Z CONCEPT FAIRLADY Z33 '02 WITH +20%BHP AND -10%WEIGHT WITH NO DRIVING AIDS AND SPORTS SOFT TYRES. and improve my T1 time.

Ok Ice beat me ....

But I agree. Lets cool off here, and let Kent do his work. The replay was requested and all we can do is wait.

Ok, to switch gears here. Have a question on the hill. Seems I always have to kick down to 3rd on that, so not to slam into the wall once crested, is there a easier way to stay in 4th as I have heard people mention. Or just slow down enough to stay in 4th ? Know this is got to be part of my lost in T2 time.

I come in from a wide angle and brake in 4th about 3 car lengths coming as near as possible to the inside of the crest. From there I coast over the crest and hit the gas once the car has started to come onto the downslope.

That's exactly what I do too. But I wish that hillcrest would be flattened with a bulldozer, it does my head in! I only get it right about 50% of the time.

New Ts of 37.9/1'18.6 (DS2); I was running real crappy T1s tonight, and that last one was a good surprise to me.

Ha Ha ****! Sorry Ive Been Reading The Times Wrong Hah Hah Aha Ha. Well I Think Its Funny
Looks like no new car for you. ;)

No hard feelings anywhere I'm sure. Now that you have it figured out, lets get back to racing and I hope none of this mis-understanding has deterred you from running in the WRS. Everyone makes mistakes, we have no problem with that.

It's just liars and cheaters we don't tolerate (as you accidentally just found out).

See you on the track.

well breakMastaz its good youve figured your problem out, no hard feelings from any of us, We were just trying to figure out WTF was going on ;).

Even i read the times wrong earlier in this thread :dunce: :dopey:. As long as you appolize and state your correct time it will be all good.

I have figured out the absolute limits of this track, if u drive a perfectly flawless lap here is the best possible T times u can humanly accomplish

T1 36.840
T2 1'15.930 (or there abouts)

u cannot go any faster than that.

wow, thats quick now we Need Hugo Boss in here to see if he can go faster :p.

BTW Holl01 do you have msn or AIM, if you do can you add me :p.

I'm not gonna give this one too much time.
T1 - ???
T2 - 1:19.xxx
How can I find out my T-times from the saved ghost lap? I didn't write down the T-times during my fast session, and I can't figure out how (or if) I can find them. Any help here?

Run the display mode (IIRC 3rd display option Normal ~ Dive ~ Display) on the replay of the ghost. Times will show when ya cross the T's. I usually run display mode when I do my verification view from the rear and write down my times then.

Well, it didn't take me long to figure out how this track + car + driver (me) combination sucks pretty bad ;) :D

Long Live the Understeering 👍

Here are my T's after ~25-30 laps, ~15 of which were restarted before the car could see the Finish line:

T1: 0'38.688
T2: 1'19.231

There is still quite a few to be gained - obviously, looking at the various 1'18-1'16's - but I don't know if that applies to me.

I think this track is way too technical for me to expect to do anything good. I will try, but more than likely I will have better opportunites with other vehicles + tracks combinations.

Later.

The Wizard.
