jerome u nut, i told ya 280

Okay okay I'll try 280 tomorrow...LOL@ME..... :dunce: I set it to 270 just to try it meaning to go back and change it but I never did. O well.

@Jase, that is a good point, but we could try it out and see how it goes and I was also thinking instead of doing the whole login thing AGAIN, we can only change the time for whichever account its logged into. For example, when I login to gtp here as jump_ace and I want to submit a time for the wrs I will only be able to change jump_ace's account and no 'guest's' are allowed to enter times. So if we could integrate that with the current login info we curently use....I dunno jsut thinking of ideas here. Any suggestions for improvement?

I fear my last bend curse has followed me from my BC race to this combo ....
everything is cool up to T2 and then i get stuck behind a funeral procession going into last tunnel :ouch:

I will get back on it soon and try and weave my way through the obstacles :dopey:

By the looks of things, my split's aint good! :D

T1: 0'20.699
T2: 0'40.498

At least there is still a full week to try. 👍

Yeah, first half an hour so far, first 20 minutes I was wondering why I was going so slow through T1,(and causing slow T2s), and then I realized I was braking too late and getting back on the gas too late for the first turn. I always seem to brake too late, that's the thing I find myself doing every week...

Splits so far:
T1: 20.449
T2: 39.851

280 gearing. I'd love to drop another 3 tenths by the end of the week, but I don't know if I'll quite get there... If I put the time towards it, I think I can, but, we shall see... Great combo! It's going to be down to the teeth... which means, it's going to get FRUSTRATING, because you just know, that someone is a thousandth faster than you... :ouch: And you can ALWAYS go a thousandth faster, you just have spend the time and find it! 👍 Go get it!

First run

T1 - 20.407
T2 - 39.860

I'd really like to take another .4 off this, but it's not going to happen!

I might have to have a punt at manual later in the week to see if their is any extra time using that this week.

Are we going to compete against one another this week Casio? 👍

Are we going to compete against one another this week Casio? 👍

Oh, you're in my crosshairs mate! Now that you've laid down the challenge....

But seriously, this whole week is going to be sooo close. 0.1 will deside it.

The key areas are:

-The First Corner

-Double Right before Long Left

-Long Left

All the other areas are pretty much going to be the same for everybody in my opinion.

Lil slower T1, but faster T2 and Final. Used 280 this time, 270 the first time.

T1 ~ 20.866
T2 ~ 40.871

And Casio, I would be surprized if it was under .1 that desides the winners this week.

session today or earlier today before work i got:

T1: 20.456
T2: 39.930

yay broke the 40 second barrier!! 👍 :)

Beat my PB by 0.1, so judging by the splits, i should get another .2 out of my lap at the very least! or so the theory goes...

290 i think your losing a bit of grunt from the engine~ since it already is kinda weak 350hp

350hp? I reckon those tired ponies should make a trip to the vet!:D

This is a very intriguing race, everyone's splits are gonna be pretty close me thinks, not sure what makes a good T2-Finish yet either?!? Here's my splits after 10 laps:

T1: 0'20.544
T2: 0'40.052

Fairly happy after such a short session, normally takes me ages to put something neat together. I'll leave this one be for a little while, I'm a bit busy for the next few days.

New Splits an hour session:

Hey, come back here!

Casio! We need to beat this guy. He was talkin smack on AIM. Hah, not really... But yeah, he want's to race... Let's show'm what ex-D3ers are made of! I'll be back tonight to do some runs!

@ kyle: lol! 👍

It's all cool! loving the heat in this comp! Division 2 rules! This is probably the only race ill do well in! might as well give it my all!! :)

Division1 guyz are faster for the moment.. not for long! im coming after you guys (hehe im digging a gigantic hole for myself arent i) that means u curtis, daniel, samuel you know who u are :P

heheh im gonna get into trouble with that! i like stirring the pot! makes it interesting

Great splits Jase. Looks like this combo suits you!

I ran some laps on DS2 last night and worked down to:

T1 22.408
T2 42.216

and then kicked myself for not quick tuning the damned thing!

Ran a bit more to get:

T1
20.428
39.968

I'm relatively happy with my T1 time though I know there's at least 0.1 - 0.2 in it for me. T2, OTOH is going to be more difficult. Hopefully when I set up the wheel it'll all fall into place (yeah, like at HK last week! LOL). I've had a .15" faster second segment so I'm not too worried as of yet. It's still early!

As for the long sweeper, any pointers? I'm turning into the previous right just a tad before hard on the brakes, down two gears, and sweeping back to the rumbles on the right for a wide entry full throttle into the left. Then about 1/3 of the way through while full on the gas I dab the brakes and grab third to keep from drifting wide and powering out. Anyone holding 4th?

How about for the first corner, I've been DS'ing 2 gears to third, but I've accidentally done just one to 4th and haven't seen too much or a difference. Anyone holding 4th through there?

RSS/RSS, 280 BTW.

Fun lap, as long as you boost power and reduce weight, that is!

-SHig

damnit! I cant believe im missing my favourite trakc just because my stupid friend lost my disc!!! IM SO ANGRY!!!

I hold 4th every time and I've hit a few 20.38x's too. I like casio mentioned am having trouble hitting the double right and long left. I may need to brake late for the double rights and keep it in 4th grazing both rumble strips and then I am THINKING for the long left to again brake a little late while keeping the car in the middle of the track and then cutting in right along-side the rumble strip and accel out....we'll have to see tonite I guess. Anyone have any better suggestions than mine? Plz share!

Final hairpin is always the key at Midfield.
Very easy to lose tenths of a seconds there.
Brake on the outside, enter the corner late and back on the throttle as soon as possible, before apex if possible.

I can nail the final hairpin pretty well ... but I don't even know how to hit the tunnel section .. it confuses me, so I end up just throwing myself in there and I lose time everytime.

Sorry Jerome :(

Someone tell me what the hell to do with this thing.

I think I can post a reasonable guide up to see most through to T2 and no more sorry but I mess up the last tunnel myself ... with my auto set at 270 as 280 just aint enough grunt for me :indiff:

Ok with a decent tunnel exit and good speed before the lap starts ...

you should be crossing the start line at about 155mph already in 5th gear
Full belt towards the little bridge at the end of the straight!

As soon as your car crosses the shadow of the bridge on the floor you wanna put your brake on moderately and drop to 3rd gear and make the turn ... its easy to go through the first bend sections without touching any rumbles .... run the revs in 3rd until the middle of the 2 turns redline to about 96 mph and then gear up to 4th in the middle of the turns and keep a nice line to stay on the left hand side of the track of the exit ....

keep power on full and by the end of the rumbles on the left at about 130mph you will gear up to 5th for the right/ left sweep ahead of you ..... you want to gently ride both rumbles on the way through without touching the grass if possible and keep the car nice and steady like a knife through butter :D ... and you should hit a reasonable 20.3 or 20.4 T1 sector maybe faster if you hit it really sweet!

Full power all the way and stay on the left hand side of the track as you head towards tunnel 1

Entering tunnel 1 you need to drop to 4th whilst braking slightly when your speed is about 157mph and start making the turn and then drop again to 3rd to make it cut in tight to the inside of the rumbles on the right and it will cross over to the left hand side of the tunnel with natural momentum and hopefully you can control it to stay inside the white lines .... carry on forwards and then gear up again to 4th when the redline goes again!

head towards the sweeping left in 4th gear and find a line to start mounting the rumble on the left before the turn starts and as you hit the rumbles dab the brakes and drop to 3rd and power into the bend it will cut nice and tight in 3rd gear and keep powering through that bend until about 96mph it will turn and take the bend at full throttle in 3rd i assure you and then gear up again to 4th..... and carry on down the hill towards T2 on the right hand side of the track!

If all has gone ok you should be on or close to a 39.5 maybe 39.6 sector ... faster if you done it well ;)

As you cross the T2 sector you gear up to 5th gear again and start turning the car onto the left hand rumbles as the little chicane starts .... stay in 5th and flick from the left rumble to the right rumble without touching grass or dirt again and find a good line whilst on the rumbles and brake on the right hand side and drop 3 gears to 2nd and find a nice line to power through in 2nd and gear up to 3rd again quickly whilst heading towards the right hand rumbles in tunnel 2

As you leave the rumbles in the tunnel you will gear up again to 4th and keeping the car in a nice motion head towards the left hand side of the track for the uphill and ride the little rumble on the left without touching dirt or grass again and head towards the crest of the hill

As you get to the crest make sure the car is lined up to sort of tuck and grab the right hand rumbles and flow through that part and keeping the car in a solid line it will naturally glide over towards the slight bump on the road as you head towards the final bridge .... before you get to the bridge you will be gearing up to 5th at about 130mph again ( I gear to 5th as my car lifts in the air on the bump at the top of the hill) and make your way under the bridge and cross the line 👍

My guide should help until T2 for sure .... but!!! .... to be honest I am losing a couple of tenths in the last tunnel .... so please experiment yourself to find the best way for you :) I should get about 4th or 5th with the lap i have now because of my loss of momentum in the last tunnel .... I will be keeping at it myself hopefully.

Hope this helps someone 👍 just read my tips and practice you will see it eventually

Thanks mate glad to help 👍
Shame about my BC result as I had the 3rd fastest T2 yet finished 8th :indiff: .... but as I said my bad tunnel 2 haunted me then and it is now in this race .... I'll try to clean it up.

Ron.

I gotta borrow the disc of my fried. I cant afford to miss this, ffs it happens right when i get a combo I rly like.

I had a second session (20 mins) and I turned TCS/ASM off, which improved my T2 instantaneously by 0.75 sec.

20.6 / 40.3 right now.
Next goal is a sub 40 T2.

Edit : 40.332 for Nat's record.
