Excited to try 2.0. Slow loading times didn't seem to have been improved. Tried sorting my colors on hue, first 100 colors still don't get sorted. 1985-style UI seemed unchanged. Didn't notice anything different driving my Z4, other than reduced payout at the end.

This is not a 2.0. It's a 1.xx. It's as unimportant as the upcoming DLC, where PD will no doubt do an half-assed job again (my guess is 0 events on Spa).

Time for Kaz to retire and hand the product management over to a better development company.

Because, believe it or not, you can still be disappointed with free things.

+1. And to add, it's not exactly 'free', contrary to quite a fair number of comments.

We paid for GT5, didn't we? GT5 was, even by its creator's admission, unfinished, so we were paying for an unfinished product, and these 'free' patches are merely to reach that intended level of completion.

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate PD for its efforts in product support. But this appreciation in no way detracts from their responsibility in delivering a complete product.

The same thing can be said about Windows 7, antivirus programs, and PS3 firmware...

Hmm, I beg to differ about the "slow" comment, just loaded Cape Ring in 4seconds.

Let us not forget that this is the first batch of any possible future DLC, if this goes well it may set the precedent for anything that comes our way in the future. If it does well then who knows what we may eventually get our hands on!

However, this could also go the same way and follow suit with the first pack both in terms of pricing and content. The two tracks whilst great and eagerly anticipated may never be used offline. How are they meant to release seasonal events using that track when not everyone has purchased the DLC? This is a problem in other games as it segments the community into 'have' and 'have nots', especially in online. The only way I can see such DLC tracks getting any limelight at all would be through A-Spec but then we have the same issue. What happens with the previous classic GT tracks? I was anticipating that a few of them would be included

The DLC car pack is another issue altogether and whilst I feel they maybe a tad expensive for the more simple touring car versions (as opposed the entirely new models) I'd rather them than nothing at all. The bias towards Japanese cars I can live with, we have done for a long time so its nothing new, although I guess that is partially the reason many of us are posting our frustration.

At the end of the day we will all vote with out wallets, at least we are getting something and moving in a promising direction! 👍

The tracks load much quicker but they are using a trick, not loading the AI straight away. You have to wait for them all to go from grey to white before actually starting a race.

Yes, but it loads the cars seperately after that. Speaking of which, that's another gripe I have - the new loading system is quite bizarre if I'm honest, doesn't make it all that quicker unless you wanna make changes to your car...

EDIT: Effectively tree'd by Simon.

And yeah, $12 is a bit much for just basically one new track.. Prologue got a new (old) track and 30+ new cars for free!
It just doesnt seem PD-like...

I dont remeber getting 30+ new cars and new track in Prologue.

As I recall we got one new car, Lotus Evora and there were 6 tracks from the start with no new ones to download.

That was Spec II to Spec III. Spec I to Spec II has the above features. And actually, there were 3 new cars there - Evora, California and Citroen GT Concept.

Anybody disappointed with the update, i am, new nascars that are just the same as all the other

Standard car interior veiw, i know it says 'basic' but eww, just black outlines i'd rather not use it (was so looking forward to finally sitting in a veyron)

The new nascar photomode? whats the point, you line up a nice photo and boom the cars driven off.

Well thats just my 2cent, what about yours?

(REMOVED)

At least you gave it a nice, long, thorough review of about 30 minutes before coming to the realization that you're disappointed. I'm sure you managed to uncover all the new features and improvements in that short amount of time. 👍

Only thing that's disappointed me so far is being half-asleep, going to back-up my game save 'just in case' before downloading the patch, and instead reverting back to a few weeks old game save. Always a good start to the day when you live up to your user-name. :dunce:

The graphic tearing is still occuring.

The AI still drive the same (kinda) despite setting them on 10 on the option menu.

Loading is a total meh. Makes me reconsider the install data being removed. Though im not sure its to blame.

Besides the new dlc cars, they only added 1 new car.

A-Spec can use a lot more work, but I have the feeling that since PD saw that almost every game needs a form of online to survive (thank you COD you piece of 🤬) they probably thought that online would take over the racing department.

Agreed 100% but all PD have to do is give Aspec the options you can select in online and Arcade mode it would be a MILLION times better. But as you say many companies seem to be ******** on the offline players.

Yes indeed forgot about those two. But still a new tracks and 30+ cars were mentioned, that didnt happen.

It did everything it said it would, plus a bit more. I'm very pleased and looking forward to the DLC.

Good update but it is still taking me up to half hour to load the home screen and another half hour to get online get it sorted plz

I was sort of disappointed as well, not really what I expected, but it's better than nothing at least. All i need was custom garage folder option.

Also downside of Spec 2.0 was

- Endurance race save (once you go into the pit stop and you save the game, you have to exit the game itself. When you reload the game thinking you can play other mode, you CANNOT, all you can do is go straight back to the race.) Also another bug was if you drive too fast into the pit stop, it will not prompt you to save the game BEWARE!

- Standard cockpit view (do I need to say more, I love cockpit mode on premium, but that "black thing" is just.....)

- new XP and Money system, it says you log in 5 days in a roll you get 200% more XP and Money (I was racing online Japanese 90's seasonal event before the patch on that Monte Carlo track and money is not alot, some where around 490,000. But with Spec 2.0, I was only getting 308,000 with maximum 200% boost. This also apply to all the online seasonal event)

- G25/G27 support. (I was hopping you could change the dead zone on brake, accelerate and wheel degree....etc, but all you can change was key mapping..which you could already do that before Spec 2.0)

- Improve AI and physics (I went straight into Arcade and choose the hardest AI as usual and play couple of home court which I race alot, which means I will be able to tell the difference of AI reaction. I will not able to. AI still back off when you are in the sweet spot of entering the apex. Once you pass them, they will never catch up or at least have a good fight. Note I was using a stock cars with stock wheels)

I was very excited when Spec 2.0 comes out and was hoping there are some hidden changes in there, but so far after 2 hours of playing...I was really sad. But at least DLC comes out next week.

nissman

Im pretty sure it was from spec I - II these cars were added and Im 100% certain new track Highspeed Ring was added to the game... for free.
You only seem to remember what you actually want to and also how does that take anything away from the other points I made or answer my questions regarding issues with the update?

There was no need for them to have 1.1 gig of update for a game that is now nearly 1yr old. People should be happy what they have done since launch. Most devs would not even bother.

To be fair, the bugs that i encountered doesn't make this a bad update. It just needs a few adjustments. If they're fixed sometime later, awesome. More power to PD and the GT5 players.

And to that immature post that had the "stfu" comment, read the AUP before you post something highly immature. If you were in my website (which has me as a mod.) I would of banned you right on the spot. Watch it mister.

always... I say... always will be guys like you complain.. complain...

- endurace savegame
- g25/27 support
- 3 profiles of setup
- new AMAZING intro
- set weather and time
etc... etc...

if you want to chance the looks of the 2011 Nascar Cars, please, send you feedback to Nascar's Team or visit http://www.nascar.com/ and complain there.

hugs.

Really don't think this update deserves the jump to 2.0. There are some nice features but no new gameplay content, nothing for me to put a few hours into like the 400 odd A Spec events that we were down on from GT4 or new special events.

I spent an hour or so using the new features and that was spec 2 done.

That's my feeling exactly 1.20 would have been much more fitting. It's great for an update, but it isn't even the best update that GT5 has had. The update that added Seasonal Events and OCD was better. I think the only reason it's called Spec 2 is because Forza is coming out. It really isn't that special.
