Too many people here have opinions on a game based off of Youtube videos (yet, some get downright pissed off when someone criticizes GT based on the same ill-advised ethic) without ever having played the game. Yes, they throw reward cars at you at every driver level. Yes, that in itself is ridiculously compromising because it alters the experience. No, not every single car sounds exactly as it should (then again show me one game that does replicate engine audio 100% to the "T" without end-user involvement) but they all sound pretty damn close; a great deal of them are even on the money - to argue that means you're obviously incapable of giving any sort of ovation to a game whose title does not begin with "Gran."
No, Forza does not look as "dashing" and Gran Turismo 5 does, but to keep resorting to visual features, to me, hints at those who do it (constantly) really have nothing else to say, and or compare it to. Then again, if all you're worried about is graphics you shouldn't own an Xbox 360 nor a PS3, you should invest into a computer - end of story. No game (especially a racing game) will ever live up to our expectations because as automotive aficionados, we expect the best of everything: audio, features, interactivity, customization, etc... and there is only so much any of these two developers can focus on, PD just happens to have a better platform to work on, again, end of story.
At this point both games are losing their meaning because members are so incessant on choosing a side for absolutely no reason. Of course, you can like (or love) one game more than the other, that's to be expected. To continuously bash one game as if you were having relations with one of the developers is just stupid. I finally understand why Kazunori shrugs off a lot of the requested features that so many us say would make the game more authentic; the hardcore (mostly blind) fans are just going to say "This wasn't needed" or "They could have spent those resources for this and that." I wouldn't want to put hard work into skid marks/tire scrubbing or reverse lights either.
