Ok, people keep saying who gives a crap about graphics...

Did Dan Greenwalt not say forza was the most beautiful racing game?

Did he also not say no other game competed or could touch them..


And judging by the MASS complaining threads on Fcentral(Even from the dedicated fans)... Seems like that game did not live up to the hype..at all.
Not to mention all the bugs...

But i still think its a great game.... just no Granturismo. Its like Forza 3 is the step mother who tries hard to gain your love, and Granturismo is well, The MOM.

Forza 3 is actually the stepmom who can't stop reminding you of how great she is while trashing your mom incessantly. And every night you would cry yourself to sleep wishing that your mom (GT5) would show up at the doorstep the very next morning :)

I think it's the other way around,

GT5 is your typical high society mom,
She sends you off to boarding school, shows you no affection, acts as if you don't exist, expects you to be quiet and just sit there like a good little boy, whose first priority is to look good for the camera's, but shows no love towards you at all, always promises but never turns up for the school plays, it's all a glamorous facard..

FM3 is like your favourite aunt, always happy to see you, guaranteed to have down to earth fun, and takes you to the Zoo and all the nice places that 'you' want to go..

Ho hum, it's easy to make up any old 'story' to suit your own criteria/view point..

GT5 is just a racing game, with cars.. when people start obsessing about it as if it's suddenly not an inanimate object, I don't know if that's healthy or not.. :)

I will love it when GT5 arrives, but I'm not so super-hyped that I am under any illusion it isn't just a nicely polished racing game with cars and tracks..
 
I get the impression that F3 was rushed out by T10 under pressure from MS and isn't the complete vision the T10 creators had for the game and I think Sony know better than to do anything like that with KY who probably gets more pressure from himself than anywhere else.

F3 is like the office slut who'll go with anyone and is noisy as hell in the sack but after a go you're quite happy to give your mate a shot. GT takes a while to get together with and if your mate makes a move for the controller you'll knock him out.

Same here. I will love it when it arrives, though I surely won't be able to play it. Same is my case with Forza 3: I love it, but I don't have it. I truly can't think of anything that will make GT5 mind blowing. Unless they introduce something never seen before... meh, anything with great graphics looks mind blowing, but doesn't mean it is. However, that doesn't mean I won't love it, because given the little I have seen and read, it will be a huge improvement from GT4, and at the end of the day, that's what I care about.

So F3 is like Angela (or Meridith) and GT5 is like Pam?

On another one... F3 is like a new Toyota... mass produced and rushed to try to beat the next guy, and what you get is a glitchy mess that may just kill you.
GT5 is like a Nissan. More work is put into it, but you get the sense of passion that is put into the vehicles. Sure they may have an occasional problem, but you are able to overlook those minor things because it is such a great product...

I don't expect it to be mind blowing, either, but I do expect it to be entertaining. Maybe I'll even love it. I hope so.

I'm also (possibly foolishly) optimistic that I'll be playing it this summer. Doesn't look like I'll be doing anything else by then, anyway.

Yeah, I love over-hyped generalisations, too. Makes you wonder how many cars in the past had similarly dangerous faults that the manufacturers either refused to acknowledge or fervently covered up.

I say well done to Toyota. I'd probably still buy a Toyota over a Nissan, so long as we're talking about the '90s! :P

By the way, Nissan also mass-produce their cars...

WoW. While I do agree that toyota has slipped in the past few years in order to produce more car sacrificing quality, lets not forget that nissan has been making FRENCH garbage since around 2002. Same year the VQ became an oil burning heap of scrap.
I'm a big nissan fan but I'm not brainwashed like you seem to be.

Secondly, my wife has a Toyota, and it's been a joy to drive and problem-free since she bought it 4 years ago. Thirdly, my mum bought a similar sized and spec Nissan that same year, and I have lost count of the number of times it has been back to the dealership for various rattles and malfunctions.

If I were in the market and I had to choose either Toyota or Nissan, I'd get a Toyota every time. As it happens I prefer German engineering, but that's sending the thread even more off-topic.

Well, you shouldn't be judging all Nissans based on one negative experience you had. They may not be the most reliable car-maker in the industry but I've been driving the new 2009 Murano for almost two years now and haven't had any trouble with it.

I have to agree. My dads 02 Maxima has 120,000 miles and has had nothing but regular, scheduled maintenance. My grandpa still has his 87 maxima and no problems. Nissan build typical japanese cars: efficient, cheap, utilitarian transport. Same for Toyota and every other japanese automaker.

LOL, lets not get into maximas please. Especially 2002 and on. The engine oil burn rate on those vq35s is higher than most engines.
 
Nissan and Toyota both are bullet proof cars. My family had own the two, and I am finidng myself on buying the new FT 86 Toyota :D

So lets compare FM3 and GT5
Oh wait, GT5 is not even OUT YET! So it can not be compared in any way imaginable.
 
basing the quality of a whole car company on your experience with one car isn't accurate.

You mean 04 and newer. 2003 was the last really good one. Never noticed anything unusual to any other car my family has owned. You must have had one bad experience with the VQ, which is why you hate them so much. BTW, GTR has what is essentially a VQ block. Also, my experience with nissan has lasted for 18 years or so, with 4 seperate cars to base it on.
 
I had an '02 IS 300 for 4 yrs. Great car. Down on power but flawless. In '06 I bought a G35M. Great car. Great power! I have no complaints with either CAR or manuf.

Both vehicles interior electronics had issues early: IS 300 in-dash cd changer ate my cd's, so the changer was replaced (warranty). G35M interior lighting had gremlins that went away on their own. G35M auto-air pressure sensors were finicky in the front tires, but I never trust those things anyway.

During all those years my brother-in-law had a '00 M3, and that car spent time every year in the dealers shop. He now owns a two Toyotas.

My new car is a 2010 IS250, my wifes-mobile, so I never get to drive. It is more of a cruiser, with decent gas mileage and great on the highway. I test drove a 325i prior to purchase and was not impressed.

Sorry, I know some swear by BMW but I don't trust them.

That being said, I think all new cars are a crap-shoot nowadays, I just think the Japenese have better odds.

Toyota has been making Citroens and Peugeots for a while... Widely regarded as some of the worst cars you can buy.

I'm sure both Toyota and Nissan make good cars. If i had to choose, it would depend on the model. If i was given the choise of a Micra and a Yaris for example, i would go for the Yaris everytime. If i had to choose between say a Celica and a Silvia, I'd probably go for the Silvia. Supra or Skyline, thats a tough one... Hmm :dopey: But yeah we are a bit off topic here.

I don't think ever for a matter of fact.
They may have,at some point, been partner for making engines, or the small little tiny cars to go up against the Swatch/Smart car ... but that's it...
Aside from it, Toyota could have NOT been contributing any more than that... OR else, how do you explain why PSA are so crappy, the French cars would have then benefit a nicer quality of work and more reliability from the Japanese Car Maker if indeed it was the truth...

I am french and yet... i think that Toyota is better than PSA.


As for Nissan... Renault bought a major part of the Japanese firm, and therefore it is Renault who is controlling (so to speak) the Japanese Carmaker including Infiniti) NOT the other way around...

It's not Nissan who has been making french garbage... it's the french themselves... :scared: :p

Sorry for maybe off-topic.Played Forza III 5 mins ago.And IM GOING MAD!!!Why this game is SO STUPID!!!I love to drive time trial on different cars to compare them.So I do a quick test on Laguna Seca and what did you think???GAME DOES NOT SHOW MY LAP-TIMES!!!I try hard to search them..but only what i've found is "leaderboard".So what if I don't have my XCRAP connected to internet.Ughhhh!!!!F$@k!!!Even Forza 2 showed best 10 lap-times when you select a track...I just don't understand!!!MAYBE I SO STUPID to not able to find them???And where they can be???Why it's different from Forza 2?GAME JUST DON'T SHOWING MY LAP RECORDS!!!(even in pre-race menu)Tell me that I'm stupid...One hour WASTED!

No, I mean 2002 and newer. 2001 with the vq30de-k was the last proper VQ. I have friends who burned through more oil in 3 months than I used on a whole oil change. My experience with nissan is based on the 10-12 I've worked on in my spare time and 100+ experienced otherwise. In my opinion the VQ is probably one of the best engine families ever, but it has been slipping for almost 10 years. There is no denying that the vq35 isn't as reliable as the vq30.
I don't hate nissan. I had one, crashed it and bought the same model/year a month later which I still use as a DD. Don't call me a hater cause I know what I'm talking about.

The engine in the GTR is based on the vr35h, isn't it? It has nothing to do with the VQ.

You're stupid. :D

You can adjust all of that in the pre-race menu, under the HUD. If I remember correctly you can adjust it anytime during the race as well.

You understand me wrong!I don't mean "best lap time" on current track.I mean where I can see my top lap times on track?In Forza 2 when I choose a track there is a "Top-10 times", showing all the times and car.Where it is in Forza 3?AND WHY @$@$ I NEED TO SEARCH IT???
