Not that it means anything but I got an email from my pre-order people saying December 21st is the date.

Hi xxxxx,

Just letting you know that our suppliers have advised us today that the estimated New Zealand release date for Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition ~ PS3 has changed from 04/11/2010 to 21/12/2010 today.

If I was you, I'd change my username.

Yeah, I have seen that :) But he's the SCEE president, he would never in his life confess that they will miss the christmass release. Not until afterwards, then he will come with some excuses.

I'm not sure what else you expect them to say. You mention that they've gone quiet, but of course they've gone quiet. No one really wants to hear from them until they have a new date. And if they were going to have a date as quickly as a week after they'd planned to announce a delay then they would've just held off until now to announce it. It seemed likely all along that the new date wouldn't come until the last week of the month.

So who is going to quote me when it is officially announced? This game next release date is in 2011. Keyword: "release date"....the game will probably never come out. :indiff:

Oh we're guessing the release date now?
Alright here goes
they're gonna announce 21 November and be like
"Alright people, here it finally is. You better get your hopes up cus GT5 is finally coming biatches!"
Then 3 days before the release date they delay it to 2 december, then 4 hours before that release date delay it again.
Then at some point they announce the game is gonna be a launch title for the Ps4, then they delay it because they're working on porting the game over to the Xbox 720 and then it gets delayed again so they can port it over to the Woohooo (the new version of Wii).

The game gets delayed once more before they cancel the project all together.

It's October 22 now and we still haven't heard anything. I know they said "at the end of the month", but I'am realy starting to think that this game actualy won't come until next year sometime... Sony are to quite about this.
To my knowledge they haven't shown a demo with both skidmarks, rain and damage, right? Why?
I think that they are having some very big issues with this game. :nervous:
Kaz himself said that it's hard to get such a "complex" system to work(or something like that). The game is probably not playable at all right now.

Talk about paranoid!!

First, yes, they said end of the month, so why should we expect some news before then? I'm glad they haven't been saying much official stuff since then. That means they are working hard getting us what we want. If you use simple logic, they are pushing HARD to get this game out in early December. Why you say? Black Friday, the busiest shopping day in the US. I'm certain Sony is pushing hard for this too, because GT5 will increase console sales as well, alot.

I highly doubt they are having issues with content, it's done already. There have been announcements saying they were late getting the content to publishers by 3 days. That means the final build was 3 days late. Final build = game is ready for the public. By Kaz's standards, I don't think we will be disappointed. I'm confident we will see this game in the first half of December. My estimation has and continues to be December 7th release. Yes, that's after Black Friday, but if it's released for Black Friday, it will make me happier. Because of all the delays, I'm not hoping for it though.

In some racers' underwear too?

in my country, an italian journalist went to sony department and they told to him that next week sony will announce the gold condition of gt5 and the respective release date...
he told me also that the delay is about 2-3 weeks after from the old date of 2-3-4 november....
we can expect gt5 on 26 of november or the first week of december...

*sigh*

Next week there's the Paris Games Week, and Yamauchi is going to be there too, so it's possible that a new release date will be disclosed during that event.

Can't say I believe the gold announcement until we see the news on here and on gaming sites. We all know it will be news.

I do think that when they announce the date that they'll also announce that it's gone gold. That'll give people confidence that whatever date they choose really is the final date for the game.

Knowing Sony's liking for shows, launch events and jollys surrounding this game. I am quit astonished that they didn't make a big thing about GT5 going gold.

Unless it hasn't gone gold. I haven't heard anything, Falango where did you hear the game was complete.

I agree. I don't think they want to say anything yet until they know they have a window to get the game done, without any more delays.

I kind of contradicted myself by saying I don't believe the gold announcement, though I think the content is done and it was a production issue. I am confident the content is done, but if the problem really was the firmware 3.50 issue, that is what would be stopping the game from going gold am I correct? That's what I was trying to get across.

I didn't hear it from anywhere, it was my assumption that is was. When news said the game was 3 days late getting to the final production phase, I assumed that meant the content was done and ready to go to disc. With that, there's been word saying the 3.50 firmware upgrade is what's held the game back from being printed.

I'm surprised there hasn't been an announcement as well, which leads me to believe it hasn't gone gold yet. The delay announcement came 3 weeks before release, which sounds like that's the time that was needed to publish and copy the game. If they announce a new release date by the end of this month, maybe they have been planning for a release the week of Black Friday. If they announced it next week, that would give them that same 3 week window to publish.

I haven't a clue. Been Following this forum for awhile now.
Storys that the game was complete only to be delayed by Sony for 3d TV's.
Then delayed to add move peripheral.

Now were at Sony's delayed it for a closer to Christmas release.

Personally I believe that PD were/are struggling with what is going to be a programming nightmare.
The content and features are second to none but with it comes difficulties.

I was happy with prologue level of cars tbh.

for me the story about 3.50 fw is only a rumor....
however the true story is that they never speak about gold condition when they gave the 2 november release date...
the game wasn't finished yet, this is the true and for this they delay...

Max of Blu-ray.com is an impeccable source with a proven track record during the Blu-ray vs HD-DVD format war.

After he revealed the firmware issue he had to take a break from posting.

If PD and Sony are smart (I think they can) they only announce a releasedate when they are very sure they can make it real this time. So if they announce something this month it will be a new date or an announcement for a real date in the future. I think PD nor Sony can make an other mistake on GT5's releasedate again. They would lose a lot of credit for it.

I'd rather they didn't give us a date.

I think it would be awesome to wake up to GT5 being delivered, or an announcement on GTP saying the game is released tomorrow or something. I can't bare another countdown.

Just make a count up thread. Simple.
