GT5 delayed

So if the discs are allready in production, i´m sure sony´ll try do sell the game before christmas.
Produced disks standing around don´t bring money. And there´s no better time to throw the game on the market than before christmas (end nov.- mid dec.). First many games as a present, or second a new ps3+gt5 will sell like hell before christmas.
So i think it´s out 2010

Lets think about this logically then.

1. The US Sony CEO, or someone of high sony stature, said GT5 would come before christmas.

2. Kaz said the discs are currently being manufactured.

3. Sony.com says "on or about Nov. 30th".

4. The Australian GT5 competition ends on December 9th.

5. Kaz said he believes it will come this year.

6. Early Christmas is the perfect time of year to launch GT5. With black friday, millions of Christmas shoppers, and still plenty of time to campaign GT5.

7. Joey Logano is driver a GT5 sponsored (as in main sponsor) car this Sunday. A release date before sunday would make sense as it would be odd to advertise a game with no official release date.
 
I have to ask myself ....

1) if the discs are being "pressed" (in productiuon), then surely Sony has some idea as to when they can start shipping.
2) if Sony has some idea as to when they can ship, why not announce a release date and lock into the psyche of the Christmas shopper before they move on to other items.

What possible benefit can there be for Sony to keep everyone in the dark as they seem to be doing. None that I can see. This simple premise doesn't bode well unless Sony makes the announcement VERY soon :nervous:

Sam, the car is being run Saturday, not Sunday. The sponsorship for Game Stop in Cup was a one race deal at Martinsville.
 
I haven't gone through all 101 pages to see if I'm duplicating a post but according to Amazon.com GT5 will be released December 31, 2010 in the USA.
 
how about we just stop posting on GTP for a week or any other sites complaining about GT5. All we're doing is making each other miserable and impatient.

I don't watch Nascar at all, but i'm gonna be watching it this Saturday just for this car. I'm excited.
 
Normally on or about would refer to +/- a day or 2 and since this is a pre-order with shipping envolved it makes total sense to word it that way. Of course it could also mean that they are not completely sure of the launch date and could be +/- a week or 2 but that is thier best guess and it is Sony so thier guess is better than that of anyone else I would think.

I've said it earlier in this post and I'll say it again.

I think Sony is printing the disks but between runs of other films/games.

That means what would normally take a week or two, (printing in multiple countries, by the way) will take longer.

Therefore until they have completed the run they will be a little unsure as to how long they will take in the end. So the delay of the release date.

The game will be out this year. Bank on it.

Also I wonder why you are even posting here if you truly believe the game will not be here before 2012? I know if I had even a hunch that it was that far away I would be off somewhere doing something else rather than looking for news here.

I have to agree, I think GT5 will come out in 2010. They are already printing copies as wek speak, and the first week of November isn't even complete. I think November 30th will probably end up being the release date.

I'm inclined to disagree with you. Blu-Ray movies don't sell for nearly as much as GT5 will be selling. Having a shortage of BR copies of "The Karate Kid" or "Girls Night In" isn't going be nearly as problematic.
 
Isn't it strange that no one has got a copy of the final built yet ?

No magazine, no website, no previewers, no sony employee, no one.

I'm sure informations would have leaked to us if anybody out there already had the full game ...

There's always employees involved in disc-pressing etc. who would grab one just to look for information..

It's as strange as it was that Sony barely advertised the game before the last delay.

It probably means that the game isn't finnished at all.

But as I said earlier, I got some hope left!

Right. That makes me wonder too.

I really dont know what theyv'e planned. But I think I'd prefer a somehow more conservative release of a game.

If anyone does have a final build of the game, they would be under an NDA and so they would not be allowed to talk about it. If Sony is sending the game out to gaming sites and magazines, they are only doing it to ones they absolutely trust to not leak any information. It is likely a build of the game that can only be played on a debug console, or they are doing it by invite only and journalist have to come into a Sony building to play the game.
