GT5 Exclusive in February OPM

3 months!!! Just 3 months until Japan release date!!!!

That picture wasn't published before and it's impossible to miss it, it's a great one. If OPM have something we dont, maybe they also know something we don't and are ready to publish it. Hell gt5 is just 3 months away!

I used to work for GameStop. They just list whatever date sounds good to them so they can rake in the pre-orders. ;)

Keep in mind that this is the February issue of OPM which is just a month out from the Japanese release.

As crazy as this sounds, i think i like the fact that i might get into GT5 without knowing anything.

I somehow miss the old feeling of buying games i wanted and be blown away by the surprises... like i felt with the original GT or with my Mega Drive games in the pre-internet era.

I couldn't agree more. With GT1 & 2, and even 3 to an extent, you had to wait to play the game to find out about many of the details,content & surprises. Now there are leaks and video even before something is officially released (ie, GT5TT). This is a great GT based community, but hardly any details go unnoticed and even fewer are spared the microscope. It is like knowing what you are going to get for christmas before you open your presents. It is nice to get the gifts, but not much of a surprise and a bit of a let down.

I agree and disagree.

I agree to the fact that being surprised by what you find in the game due to playing it is nice. However I don't think you can compare this to games nowadays, especially GT5. Truth be told to have every last detail of information about it and screen shots of every car and track and all that, would be next to impossible. So even though they could show some newer cars, features, or tracks, GT5 will still have plenty left to be seen that you may or may not be surprised about.
 
To be fair, there was plaenty of information about GT1 and GT2 before they came out, but not everything was revealed. I think as far as being a member on here is concerned anyway, that the info explosion before GT4 spoiled some (myself included). While not everything was officially revealed before release, we got information and a screen photo of every car and track and most of the events screens etc. Sionce then peopel have been pining for PD to release every bit of info they have about the game. There were no suprises in GT4 for me, I'm going to try to avoid that with GT5. Getting some information is fine, getting a lot even, but gettign all the info can take some of the suprise away. I'll have to restrain myself from clicking on the "all cars revealed" threads though.
 
I just want info on the features rather than the car/track list.

In fact, all I want to know is if it's going to rain...
 
Most mags have next months date on, so Febuary's is released in Jan sometime, do we know when this is released?

I don't understand how can you "spoil" a racing game by reading the car list? :boggled: It's not like GT5 is going to have some deep and interesting story a'la Metal Gear Solid. :lol:
 
No, but when I played GT2 so many of the cars were a suprise, there was so much I didn't know would be in and a good few cars I didn't know existed. In GT4 I knew all the cars, tracks and events before I got the game, there were no suprises. Part of how much it can suprise me is gone anyway simply because my knowledge of cars in general has increased. It's unlikely that there will be many cars in GT5 that I've never heard of and any that there are will probably be osbcure Japanese cars from the 70's and 80's. So in that sense I'll never recaputre that feeling of discovery I had when I first played GTs 1 and 2. But on the other hand, it'd still be nice to get GT5 and then every now and then find that certain cars are in without me expecting them to be there.

I know there were a lot released for GT4 but GT5 is what like maybe 5x the size of GT4? Not 5x the amount of cars but you know what I am saying. They would have to release over 1000 screens simply for the cars and some of the tracks. Let alone other features.
 
I would be okay with what they did and had 16 car pictures on a particular track.

at the end of the game the Ferrari F50 is shot in the back by the FXX outside a Pizza Hut. It is then revealed that the Testarossa was cheating on them both! The Testarossa then kills herself after hearing of F50's death
It could ruin it for you fans :/

Early feb release date for the US is popping up everywhere now, I don't know why. If it were true GT5 (SCEA region) would have to be going gold right now.

1 month away, can't see it happening.

I live in the US and I am hearing the same BS but if I were you I would not belive it until I see it on store shelves.

I would love for it to hit in Feb, but how would all these stores hear about it before all these dedicated fans? They're obviously just copying each other.. And I'd like to know why Gamestop put out GT5 huge boxes months ago, like it's going to be out soon.... Pre orders probably, but I could careless about the launch date I just wanted to get my pre-order in.

And 3 months (if that) and not even box art yet? C'mon, it's not a life or death decision.

GameStop will take your pre order now, I put mine in a couple of weeks ago. They told me Feb. as well but I am sure that is wrong.

Ruin it? Are you joking? No racing simulator has ever had car damage as hardcore as that. Come to think of it, no racing simulator has ever been rated 18+ either. PD is breaking new ground here folks 👍
