I dont see the big deal with it, if you dont like it, dont do it. Why does it matter if other people do it?

And I dont do it myself

I honestly think there are different situations were it becomes acceptable and where it isn't:

If you have completed A Spec most of the way playing honestly, and you are duping just to build a collection then I think that is perfectly acceptable as you are not cheating to win or beat others, it is just so you can put a collection together, but tbh, I see no other way of putting together as full a collection as you would buy duping the cars.

However, if you are duping cars and then racing them online or using duped cars to complete A or B-Spec races that you would otherwise not complete with your normal collection then I think that is when it can be classed as cheating.

Duping cars to put a collection together is not cheating the game.

Duping cars to complete races to therefore complete the game is cheating the game.

Thats my view anyway.

Seems to me if duping is cheating, then accepting a birthday car is cheating as well, and trading is cheating. After all, the argument is that you didn't "earn" your car, so you don't really "earn" it in any of those situations, do you?

Also, no car you got by doing any B-spec racing should be accepted. After all, you did nothing to "earn" those cars, did you?

Hey, if you're going to be a purist about it, then by all means, be a PURIST about it.

i refuse to grind, I now only play A Spec when I'm trying out a new car or when the seasonal events are around (as you get more XP than doing a regular race)

If it's cheating, it's cheating. It doesn't matter whether you're trying to "build a collection" or finish the game - it's still cheating. If you can't get the cars by racing for them or buying them, how is duping any less of a cheat than not being able to win a race with a car you bought or "earned"?

Like I said, that is just my view.

Personally it doesn't bother me at all what other people do with a game that they bought with their own money and play on their own PS3. At the end of the day people who go on about how it is cheating or how it is ruining the spirit of the game are taking the game too seriously. GT5 is about racing cars ... and all of us, in our own way, are racing cars :)

I feel your pain man... but where there's a will there a way, there's always going to be people cheating. I just finally bought my first FGT yesterday the honest way, and honestly, a part of my is pissed knowing people have dozens of these in every color, but then again, while Im enjoying the game, these people are not really playing, more of saving, restarting, trading, repeat... :ouch: I don't care that much, I'm just gonna keep playing 👍

Yup. I wasn't dumping on you, by the way - just using your example to hold up to all those who keep screaming "But IT'S CHEATING!" I view it as being like the "cheats" in Grand Theft Auto: it was put into the game, ergo it's something you can use. Gifting cars is allowed in the game. Game saves are allowed in the game. Hence, duping is a vulnerability, but it IS in the game. So use it. Or don't.

If I trade someone for a car that I want, and I trade them something that I have that THEY want, should either of us really care HOW we got our cars? I raced my arse off to get my FGT, but if I'm tired of it and done with it, should I really give a rat's if someone wants to trade me a car I *really* want for it? Should I worry that maybe they didn't pay enough for it, or work hard enough to get it? If I have more fun just driving around in a CRX, have I been "cheated" if I trade for one? (Ludicrous example, but you get the idea)

have you played B-spec at all? Don't tell me that trying to win the historic cote race involves "doing nothing"

Oh, I've played B-spec a ton! Enjoyed some of it, too. But I've also traded cars, and I'll bet some of them are [gasp!] DUPED CARS! So I'm already a dirty rotten cheater. I've "cheated" my way up to L34 on B-Spec so far.

And yes, I'm also a sarcastic, caustic, acerbic smart-a**. ;)

Didn't you already make virtually the same thread about this? Get over it and play your game ffs..

The only thing I do is the daily one free car. I can't seem to justify spending hours grinding Indy to buy a car that I want mainly for the sake of collecting. I wanted to see how the GT race car felt, but 5.6 million to find out was not worth it, so I did the free trick. I don't use my free cars to cheat races or beat people up online, I just enjoy having cars without grinding for days to get them, crucify me if you must, but it doesnt hurt anyone else that I do it.
