I'd rather they just tell the world when the game goes Gold. That way, at least we know it's finished.

I'm pretty sure it will be gold by the end of the month and that's exactly when they are going to tell us when the new date is.

I thought it was kinda funny actually :dopey: Even so, a big part of me feels the same as Heath. I've been saying "I know it will be good when it comes out, so I'm okay with this" for longer than I can remember. It's just ironic that it has been delayed one last time (hopefully). :p

Does anyone know what PS3 trophies may be in GT5???
Been trying to get trophies for my PS3 lately so quite interested in this...

(Should somebody start a thread on it? Probably not a big enough topic though.)

Hopefully.

Indeed. Although..

According to once source at least PD did finish the game (albeit 3 days late) so if that source is correct, it is gold. A official statement would put our minds at ease though.

@NottsCounty1862

Since the confirmation that trophies are in, I don't think PD\KY ever went into details about it.

Has SCEA really said that we may not get GT5 until 2011? Sorry to bring it up if this already has been discussed.

A Danish news article claims that in an article about the piracy problem with software 3.41.

Google translation:

"Eternity Project Gran Turismo 5 was recently delayed by the hunredene time, and we believe the rumors, it's piracy, this time has caused the delay. According Sixth Axis Polyphony Digital namely built the game to run on version 3.41 of the PlayStation 3's firmware, but at the behest of Sony, they had to reprogram the 3.50 version.

Version shift is part of Sony's new strategy aimed at all games released after October 2010 require 3.50. By all accounts it is an attempt to stop piracy of games for PlayStation 3 and Gran Turismo 5 has changed caused, problems in style.

Yesterday Sony's American branch informed that we may have to wait until 2011 to put teeth into the game. After numerous delays, we are a bit skeptical about a launch in 2010, but hope nonetheless that car enthusiasts get tough packages signed Polyphony Digital under the Christmas tree this year.
"

I am telling you guys it is going to be sooner rather than later or it will mess up all of Sonys Christmas marketing and sales. They will be franticaly trying to free up a slot to get it out ASAP.

Huh? I hope the 2011 stuff is REALLY not true.
Other rumors say distributors got a end of november release date - first week december?

Isnt the Launch Party still happening in Madrid at the end of the month?
They are bound to give more details then on the release dates.

Pretty sure, official word from SCEA said this year "Holiday Season"\before Xmas or something like that and SCEE was hinting at the end of November.

It seems like you cant even trust Sony's or PD's word anymore.. lol

I just hope it wont take till next year!

I hate it when news firms state that the game has had "numerous delays." There's been two. One Japanese and one world-wide.

New Video? LeMans with No Timer, Mercedes SLR

Seems like, for some people, that whatever-event with the GT timeline claiming GT5 in 2008, the numerous rumours saying 2009 and the public expectations add to that count too.

Yeah, I suppose you're right.

I don't really get the point of trophies... sure its cool to have something to aim for other than your own goals... but you just work your ass off to get them and then that's it... no pay off.. and then you realize that there's about a million other guys out there with thousands more trophies than you anyway.

Fair enough when it comes to GT it would be nice to get everything to show you have done it. I played all the previous GT's and got 100% and all it is is a statistic in your head that you can maybe post in a signature. In my honest opinion I think the biggest pay off in this game will be from playing online - number of races, race wins and how high you can get on the time trails leader boards.

Come on!do you believe Sony-PD word again?👎
@Jay:thanks,I missed that one.

They're a nice way to track your progress and achievements in the game.
And it's easy to check what your friends have been playing / doing, without having to play or even own the game(s) in question. The latter is important, because many games have in-game statistics which you can compare with friends. GT5 will be one of them.

Also, I don't think there's a single game out there that gives you trophies without any reward in the game itself.

I just pointed out the "official" word they did put out, since that article didn't sound so accurate.

Do you want my opinion on the matter? I really don't care about it, PR talk, the delay or whatever comes next.

It's a replay, hence no timer and the hood view.

it's not a replay, and i just found out it's from GamesCom on one of the pods without a timer.

In Namco-Bandai's "Another Century Episode R" you get a bronze trophy just for installing the game on the PS3 hard disk.

Yeah, my full post pretty much agrees with you. My point is there is very little you get from it... like unlimited ammo and bonus cars rarely do it for me anymore. It would be nice if you could get points that you could use to cash in against games on the PSN or something.. not just the satisfaction of completing something after hours of effort.

As for comparing with friends, I think online is where it's at.. not just completing more things on expert than a few of my friends. Actually beating them and beating there times is where the real run lies IMHO.

I think trophies should be based on events you win, bronze trophies for winning a set of beginner races, silver for advanced and nation based, gold for professional and endurance, platinum for extreme. Add in some for other special achievements like owning 100 cars and of course a platinum for finishing the game and we're done.

Not a surprise.

IF this is true; anyone who still trusts sony/pd is just plain stupid. I am in awe over how someone manages to ruin its own business like this. Simply amazing.
