If they say it will ship before Christmas they will obviously give a date.

If however they say we regret to announce that we were unable to get GT5 out before the holiday season.
We are aware of the interest in this game but technical issues mean we are unfortunately unable release.

We want you to know we are still hard at work and will announce a new date in the near future.

Thanks for your continued support at this time.

If they do that they will have fallen on there own sword, the game will instantly become another Duke Nukem with people saying it will never be released and losing all interest. Pre-orders would be canceled and retailers would also have no confidence in the game and its producers.

Question about the in game racing line. Does that dynamically change like it does in Forza? In each GT5 vid I see, there is a part where its red, where you're supposed to brake, but when the player brakes it doesnt change to blue.

If this is the case thats really lame.

It is dynamic of course, you can see it changing if you brake a little bit earlier. But I would recommend that line only to real beginners who don't know the track, it's so much more fun without it ...

I really hope that's true wadji.

It will be leaked before the official announcement, things like this always are.
After all we heard about the rumblings of a delay via a Russian site I think.

Difficult bit is interpreting the truth from the false ones.

Anyhow fingers crossed.

I admire you're optimism my friend:)

I must say I do as well, and everyone elses.

However I take exception to this:
That's true! Although GT is known for its delays,
they really did improve their customer relationship over the years.

Upon what pray tell, do you base this little gem of contemplative wisdom?

If you like trophies, you should check out the flash game "ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED". :D

Thanks, the way i see it is GT5 might have missed it's production slot but this game will hit in November on the 23rd since it's done and will start production at the end of the month, and also the other way i understand this delay is because of one other particular game which is (COD Black Ops) and it also has a lot of orders which will take the remainder of the month to press after that GT5 will Hit the presses.

Cygnus learn to drive with the line off. You will appreciate it more and go faster.

Agree, I've never used that line to be honest ( might do on the Top Gear track though for the first few goes as I hear it's confusing ), much more fun to figure it out by trial and error and you can't use the ideal line all of the time when racing anyway ( as racing is also about improvising within a particular situation ).
The straight and narrow path doesn't apply when playing a game, only as a tutorial perhaps to learn a new track.

That's true. But please,
if you're a pessimist, please keep it to yourself.
At this moment,a lot of us can only use optimism.

If we only have the positive comments it'll get old fast. Even considering PD's abysmal track record when it comes to delays, I thought Nov 2 was for real this time. Turns out the people who were saying it'd be delayed were right!

The hype train is moving pretty fast already, they wouldnt screw that up. They like to delay stuff but they usually keep their promise of at least announcing a date when they say they would.

...when have they announced a date that they'll announce the release date?

Er... they already did that exact thing .
_______________

I'm really, really hoping for a release that's within a month of the original date. All of these "we just received a PM" or "an inside source" articles from random websites aren't giving us anything concrete, hopefully PD breaks the silence soon. Not like it's really in their character though...

The TRUE story is: somebody at PD deleted the hard drive. PD is frantically re-making the game from scratch. Latest version is to have 1 premium car and half a standard car. Track is a field with 2 bales of hay and some snow in the corner. Game will be out in time for dinner at 1.30 on December 25th. :D

Polyphony and Sony has announced:
because of the continued delays of the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5, Polyphony has announced that Gran Turismo 6 will be released in November to hold fans over until Gran Turismo 5 comes out.

On gt5's "my home" screen there is a picture frame with a gray silhouette on the top left, do you think you can put your own photo in there burnout paradise style ? also how about using a similar technique to put you as the driver of the car ? could this be the big secret ?

Lol, I was about to ask the same thing! I know we're trying to soften the blow by not playing the blame game(guilty of), but don't give PD any more character than what they've shown.

Funny thing is when online I find turning it on helps me to see where everyone else is going to brake lol.

I'm not gonna lie, I smirked a little

I don't think they ever listened as much to us as they do now.
A lot of features that will be in GT5 are all on the demand of the customer.
Although the website could be updated even more frequently,
we've got news now and then. More than in the GT1-4 era.
And the latest delay is IMO not a delay that would move GT5 a year away.

Even if some of these optimistic rumors weren't true,
they al align perfectly so.. make these optimistic rumors more credible.
I do believe GT5 was only 3 days late.
And I do believe Kaz has finally ended on GT5 and will keep his further and further perfectioning for GT6.

Keeping a promise to give a release date really doesn't mean much when the date they give is bogus, ha.

The game is already another Duke Nukem. I haven't seen a game so widely lol'ed at on the webz since... well it's the worst I've seen, but I don't follow many other games I guess.

I'm confident the game itself is now complete (KY's 3 days late comment,) and it is only a matter of manufacturing now. So I'm still hopeful for a November 30th release.

I hope they make tourist trophy 2 or a dlc bike pack.

Me too ! gt5 will still have factory burn time, I don't think they could have done a planetary supply of gt5 discs in 3 days. So they need to run the factory at full speed 24hrs a day 7 days a week to make up for lost time ! have they not watched Overhaullin ? they build a hot rod in a week from a junk yard dog.

Online AI is indeed predictable at times.

I love GT:drool::drool::drool:

Trophies... how do you balance it in a game like this? Is there a limit of trophies a game can give? Could they split in categories (casual\sim, online\offline)?

Because IMO, they should make it worth, some trophies should be tied with challenge (tough and strict One Make races, Missions and Special Condition events) and not just a series of repetitive actions or mundane tasks (you already win prize cars and credits as rewards for completing races\cups\championships).
I agree, although I think we deserve a Gold trophy just for installing the game, the trophy should be called "Thanks For Waiting" or something along those lines.

But in seriousness, we should also get trophies for wacky stuff, like complete one lap in a kart at Nurburgring, flip a car three times in a race, just some random funny stuff.

How does showing a common sight on Dutch streets lighten the mood?
Plenty of where that came from on multiple other sites for those needing to be cheered up I guess.
If I wanted to see that I wouldn't be here to discuss GT5......
