You can play copied games on PS3s with FW less than 3.42.

Looks a lot like it. But it's not from this picture. This one has more shine on the wheels. Could be the same rims , but not the same picture.
 
If you look at the guys other threads his blu-ray packed up on him. His PS3 is broken.

No I'm pretty sure when they hacked the ps3 it still didn't allow you to play copied games, just to backup your games to the ps3 and the. Play without the disc? Or to play downloaded ROM's?
Anyway, being a new zealander born in Aussie, when he says rooted, he means broken.

hah, this guy could possibly have the first copy of GT5 available to anybody other than the media (from what I have read he is not a game reviewer and doesn't work in the industry.)

This guy could provide us with car lists, track lists, videos, photomode images, the works. I think its pretty important that we look into it.

to me it's plain fake. I see no CMYK printing dots. Also, there's alot of noise in the image of the BR disk

I have images comming for comparison. They don't stick paper on disk, they print directly on it.

who needs american idol / xfactor / britains got talent to become an overnight success... lol, just a copy of GT5

ok we can maybe ask the guy some questions on forums.. but i dont see the need to make his personal info available all over the internet... bit extreme do you not think ??

My disks don't have those dots ? Although , there is indeed a lot of noise , but that could be because of the camera quality.
 
If the cover car is the SLS, i wonder why would they use what appears to be the rims from the HKS EVO. GT4 had the Ford GT on the cover and disc...

I don't think violating someone's privacy for details about a game is a rational option.

I didn't make his personal info available on the internet. He did. His facebook profile etc is all private, I simply googled his name. If he has any valuable information on the internet then it is his own fault.

If you want to contact this guy he has to accept a friend request, so its up to him if he wants you to see his information. Anybody joining facebook immediately allows the entire world to see who they are to some extent.

If anything is violated here, it is whatever agreement he has made with Sony or PD to have the disc, unless he as obtained it illegally.

I haven't broken any rules or laws and as far as we know, neither has this guy, so chill...and lets see where this leads.

Ask him on a forum he visits, via PM or whatever. Don't start harassing him via other avenues. He said he'll post pictures today. So we should see something within the next 12 hours.

After that we can ask him what's up.

Won't happen with a broken PS3.

I just think chasing someone over a game is a little extreme ... and a wee bit sad.

if he wants to post anything .. im sure you will hear about it soon enough.

but you go for it... if it means that much to you

thing is.. he may not have broken any laws as such at the moment..

but im not so sure if he starts posting info on the net before PD / SONY announce officially... he will have problems..

The guy in question is apparently renowned amongst the warez scene. I'm going to go with rooted=cracked for "testing" in this particular case. ;)


...though that theory has been 'debunked' at GAF.

Yep, it could be the demo disc like that guy off the Gadget show had. (Assuming he had a disc and not a down-loadable demo.)
 
Why does the disc have the same legal info twice? Around the edge and then directly on the face. I have never seen a disc with that info printed twice.

This is my first post, but I've been reading gtplanet since I remember. Anyway. I found interesting ad in some Polish magazine ( I don't know which one).
Ad of Gran Turismo 5 with date of release !!!
