It's not written on the ones with the old layout but you can find it on the newer ones. At least on SCEE releases...

E: Okay, it's written on the older layouts as well.

CHECK THIS OUT...

top circle shows quite clearly a straight line in the cloth...so this would indicate an edge to the material..... NOW..

lower circle quite clearly shows stitching not unlike a button hole surround...

this to me .... means this in actual fact is a jacket and not a pair of trousers at all...

that MUST mean this picture is undoubtedly a FAKE !!

and this dude wears brown pin stripe jackets... i mean only fakers and losers wear such clothes dont they....

someone please ask this guy what was the item of clothing he took the picture on... just so we can rule out.. trousers/ pants / socks / t shirts / jumpers / coats..

Nice shots. Can you imagine what it will be like when games look like real life? Our grandkids migh be playing games that look like those photos. We're a very long way off from that.

I don't think it's that far away really. Sometimes I've had to look twice to make sure a GT5 screenshot is not real, and the other way round as well. I'd think that in about 15 - 20 years games will look pretty much like real life.
 
I'm a little surprised the inthemix forums haven't crashed yet due to the traffic.

I doubt it's used to this much traffic. Personally I'm refreshing it a lot, as well as following the thread over on neoGAF.

Look at the words printed on the edge of the disc. My GT5 Prologue disc says "Manufactured in U.S.A".
 
Yeah but in 15-20 years real life will look a lot better too :P

I don't understand why people are getting so excited over that disc image. It really doesn't matter if it's real or fake, it's not OURS. It doesn't bring us any closer to knowledge of when we'll have the game. I could write GT5 on my sidewalk and upload a photo of it and it seems people would spend a good few hours analyzing that too.

I do not think "GT" is a registered trademark and the Gran Turismo logo does not look right. Let's see if the poster can prove this is not a fake, but I think it is fake.

mine says made in australia... and i live in the UK...so wot does that mean?

Well, I don't think so. IF it is real, we can be sure that we'll get the game this year.

It matters because if it's real then that's a very good indication that it's coming out this year for sure. There's no way that Sony's going to allow this game to be out there months in advance of it being in stores. Especially now that piracy exists on the PS3.

Actually, All of them do (As far as my games go)

F1 2010 - Made in Austria, Middle of the bottom load of copyright nonsense. Under the PS3 symbol on the disk (On the box its the VERY bottom line of writing on the back)
Uncharted 1 Platinum - Same as F1 2010, Under the PLAYSTATION 3 Logo, On the box its the same as well
Uncharted 2 - Same as above.
Gt5P - Same.
Fifa 11 - Same
Sims 3 - Same
Medal Of Honor - Same
LittleBigPlanet - Same.
Killzone - Same
Fallout NV - Same
Infamous - Same
3d Dot Game Heroes - Same
Resistance 2 - Box is the same, yet to find it on the disk. Actually, I cannot find it on the disk. But I'm guessing it was made in Austria, because thats what the box says.
MGS 4 - Same as all the others.

So i guess if you cant find where your games are manufactured, You are probably looking in the wrong place. :)

I'm guessing the Metal prongs are to represent where the dash should be.

I told you how I came to that conclusion. Copies are now out in the wild, if one gets into the wrong hands then it'll be up for people to download in no time, which is exactly what Sony doesn't want. It's now in their best interest to get the game out as soon as they possibly can.

I mean couldnt it be possible the discs (which are beeing stamped as we speak) do not contain any data yet ?

So what we see is an labeled (stamped) but empty disc ?

You can't play it on cracked PS3 since it asks for v3.50 install after you start the game. So there isn't a worry about that.

Was it used or new? If used it could be a traded-in Australian import.

Or demand for the game was so great Sony Europe had to source copies from Australia.

common sense ( something scarcely used on here ) tells me they are both done at the same time..

a dvd / BR / CD is a sandwich of two discs of plastic with a foil layer bonded in the middle.

so they would have one machine adding art work to top layer..

another machine adding the data to the foil section

then another machine to press the 2 together...

im more than likely completely wrong.. but thats my take on it.

i see your thinking though...

he may have got this disc from the plant with only the artwork on... :sly:
