No reason to not buying it. But hearing Kaz always talking about perfection...

BTW, a driving sim with 1000 cars but without Porsche can't be perfect. ;)

Kaz is trying to make GT5 the perfect game with the resources he can have ,
unfortunately Porsche is one of those things he would like to perfect , but is out of his control.:sly:

I just cancelled my TDU2 pre-order and traded in GRID and put everything towards GT5. Just about $12 left on the pre-order.

Also, I thought a racing sim without Porsche WAS perfect. :P. They've got VW, and that's the best thing Porsche ever made. :)

Can anyone confirm the final Anti Aliasing method used and if the earlier builds tearing has been eliminated?

I doubt it, as only two guy's are posting gameplay videos at the minute, and neither are squeaking so far.

If you ask for perfectiveness in your life, you will always be miserable. Let aside what KY said, the game is really good enough to keep us satisfied with it. This is what anyone wants from a game, am I wrong?

Maybe they want to be 100% sure this time ...this includes producing the blu-rays, shipping them, distributing them to the retailers. 3 weeks would be enough for a huge marketing campaign IMO.

That's what I'm thinking too, as long as most copies aren't distributed under the counter like what seems to have happened here I assume they just wait for everything to be ready to sell from the word go.
Now 3 weeks is more than enough, 2 weeks even (and remember the ad campaigns won't stop once it's released), to secure full hype and attention before the holiday season.

Actua;lly after seeing the REAL X1, thats probably what the game was delayed for in the first place, so they could build it in time for the launch party!

i bloody hope not lol.

So you think Sony would Delay GT5 just so Red Bull could build this mock-up for the launch party? Please tell me you aren't serious.

I dont think that this question has been answered BUT , do cars in GT5 have an odometer like we had in GT4????
Now since there is the oil change option, i assume yes... but it would be very realistic if the oil change interval would be different for cars like an Audi A3 compared to lets say the Pagani.
I just hope the odometer isnt like in NFS Shift, hope its like GT4

Chris

IIRC, there are photographs on gran-turismo.com which show the ferrari P330 in a garage, and in the image it says "Total distance driven" or something similar.

3 weeks is a good timeline for TV an internet ...I'll give anyone that.

But magazines are out of the question.... these mags take a month before they get to print an issue.

What about stores ? can you tell a store not to advertise a release date till the last minute ? is that how it works..?

This game might have gotten leaked a month before release (December)

SONY might of shipped disc out just to assure store would get them...but they didn't factor in that someone could of leaked an early copy.

Any way...I'll know when the release date is official (again).

Head tracking is completley pointless (as you can see in the video, the guy switches it off within 5 seconds), because the screen does not move so what you end up doing is moving your head but have to keep your eyes looking straight.

If you have some sort of AV-glasses that allow you to input a PS3 feed then it would be great or maybe you can weld your monitor to your head and keep the ps eye infront of you that work too.
Uhhm, you do know that head tracking exaggerates your head's movement right? You turn your head ten degrees and the view turns twenty-five or something like that. PD can make such a great game and you even think they can't think of something you and I can think off?

The rain looks like some kind of procedurally generated dynamic bump map. The lighting inside that Zonda is truly awesome.

I'm sure there will be an odometer similar to previous series. I mean there's a trophy for buying a car with >300,000mi or km on it. (I can't remember)

At this stage, knowing what Sony/Kaz are like, yes, they wanted it built in time for the launch party.

Sony works in mysterious and infuriating ways:sick:

I would love for him to try the YouTube upload feature since he doesnt care/mind about being online on his PS3. Maybe the guy can ask/translate that to him who is on here (sorry I forgot your username).

It's a shame that there aren't many people who care about cars vs. those who don't.

That's why GT5 isn't getting the publicity that it deserves. Call of Duty is 100% crap compared to GT5 yet 99.9% of PS3 population suck CoD's phallic member.

What happened to that list? have we established it as fake now then?

The "yellow list"?

i think someone said its from a shop, so until confirmation comes out, its just a placeholder on paper, photographed.

The two guys who both have GT5 should hook up online and give us some videos of the online aspect.

For example: Can you save online replays for photomode use?

Seriously, you and many others are really not being anymore rational then Sony is. Red Bull could have already been doing that before this whole delay chaos started.

All signs point to GT5 not coming out soon. I don't care at all about these videos. I want a release date.

OMG, that picture is so kawaii! :dopey:

That would mean changing oil (not mention engine "rebuild") in some cars every time you use it. Like F40, Ford RS and such :s

So what do you guys think: Will GT5 be Game of the Year? It'll probably be up against Call of Duty and Fallout: New Vegas. It'll probably at least get nominated...but will it win?

List? What list? The track list? Real but incomplete as not all tracks have been unlocked. I don't know any other list.

You guys give Sony too much credit. Even stuff they have nothing to do with they get credit for. If Sony wanted to market the game I don't think they'd leak it to a bunch of people and have them post videos that subsequently get removed by Sony.

This isnt Sony "secret marketing" we're all going to buy the game.. your average Joe wont be watching these videos , he'll have to see GT5 on tv or something before he decides to buy it.

Haha...I'm just assuming here of course. First of all, marketing isn't just straight cut TV/Magazine advertising. There's tons of strategies and moves you can pull to attract your customer base, and grapevine/ informal communication is the most cost effective method. It's free, fast, and will probably gain more attention than a multi-million dollar 20 sec advertisement.

And looking at all the recent videos, everyone presumed that they would be shocking leaks, and so far, it's pretty underwhelming to say the least. We have seen most of the stuff shown in the videos. Technically, the F10 is the only new info we have. Cape Ring layout was first found in the NY CRZ event a while ago. Even in the latest video, Zonda R in Eiger Rain. We've seen the Zonda R, and we've seen Eiger Rain in separate demos, so why show them again? Why not show other cars on a different track with rain on it? Up to this point, the leaks have helped Sony in generating hype and interest. That's why they've allowed leaks to exist on a small scale with the fake disc images, short leaked videos etc.

I believe informal marketing is only the beginning of Sony's strategy. First start with 'supposed' leaks to steal the thunder from Forza Ultimate Edition, NFS: HP and build momentum in the existing customer base. The existing customer base will then spread the word out to their families, friends, co-workers and attract interest in those groups. Then on the last week, Sony announces the release date and launches advertising campaigns to capture anyone that slipped through. All assumptions of course.

Call of Duty is crap compared to most :) I don't understand how that can sell well as a online shooter when Bad Company 2 only sells ok. Bad Company 2 is thousands times better...

Sorry but when will be the party in Madrid?
