10 tracks less than GT4 and a ******** of the same cars, this is lame, they delayed the game a milion times, and then give us a game thats probably less exciting than GT4.

there none of the cars and tracks i hoped for in the game, some of the best GT4 tracks have been taken out,

El Capitan
Apricot Hill
Citta di Aria
Costa di Amalfi
Seattle Circuit
New York
Tahiti

I atleast expected to see more tracks, and hoped to see different cars.
All skylines are in the game, except my favourite (the R34 Z-Tune), practically every honda, nissan and toyota ever made is in the game, and other brands miss their most iconic and most amazing models.

If the game was released a year ago, ok fine, i could live with it, i'd hope for a richly filled GT6, normally a new game is an improvement over the old one, but this is just a stripped down version of GT4 with a few new tracks and HD graphics.

"GT4 prologue 2 HD"

I'm not sure if i'm going to buy it, this wasn't worth the wait and its really depressing. :/

i'm sure if you buy the game and try it you will be very happy with it :)

I hope like myself, other users got an infraction for posting "Spam" about the page 3000 milestone? Jesus H.Christ.

Oh, and can't wait for GT5 (best to mention something GT related).

Yes same, Thy shall have no fun!

Anyway I see there is no E30 on the car list, bit of a shame but oh well, not going to cry! :sly:

Only one thing saddens me in all of this really, and that is what my beloved GTP community has devolved into since the delay. :(

Personally i´m not the slightest dissapointed as it´s quite in line with my general expectations with even some stuff i didn´t think they would manage to get in there at all, that´s just from the stuff we know sofar and i´m 110% sure there will be some nice surpises in there too, Kaz/PD loves to leave some surprises in there that you´ll have to find out in due time.

Looking forward to racing, doing track days and so on with those here that will be enjoying GT just as much as me.

See you out there soon enough! :) 👍

If you look at the complaint posts, alot of the complaints are from new members who just made their account in the past few weeks. Some smell like fat trolls, some are genuinely disappointed, but most of the members here are still happy and excited by the release. So nope, GTP overall isn't disappointed and a bunch of babies. Those who are raging and crying are the ones who made assumptions about some features such as inclusion of Spa, Hockenheimring, 70+ tracks not including variations, missing cars based on unconfirmed information.

I, too, look forward to racing with GTP'ers in OLR and WRS. I'm just waiting for the new GT5 qualification round to start out my GTP_ PSN account. Hope to see you on the field, too.

If you look at it this way

Grid has 43 cars, 15 tracks (+ variations), no weather, and no day to night transistions. Has damage model.

f1: 24 cars, 20 tracks, weather and damage, no day to night transistion

SHIFT 60 cars, 19 tracks (+variations) damage but no weather.

GT5 has: 200 Premium cars, 27 tracks (+ load of variations) weather, day to night transistion, damage model.

and this isn't including all the side features... GO PD!

Well, at this point, I'm just happy that we know the release date and can all stop wondering and speculating. And for those in the US, it's a welcome date since it falls right before Thanksgiving and many people will have an extended 4 day weekend to play (not me sadly).

As for the car list, well, I've never been thrilled about the premium/standard situation. I prefer to drive in cockpit view so it was disappointing. But it is what it is and we've known for a long time. And yes, there are certainly some cars I wish had made the cut, the Ferrari 355 Challenge and 1958 250 TR, among others. But with over 1,000 cars, there are so many to choose from, it really doesn't matter. Even if they included 2,000 or 3,000 cars, there would always be one model somebody would miss.

What I am very disappointed with is the track list. Frankly, considering PD has been working on GT5 for 5+ years, what we end up with is a bit of a joke. It's awful. My personal opinion was that the ONLY track worth driving in Prologue was Suzuka. Fuji was OK but it was a bit boring. HSR, London, Eiger, Daytona--all either uninspiring or poor tracks to actually race on. There are some great tracks in GT5 but I would love to have Spa and Hockenheim and Road Atlanta and Imola and Road America and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Or countless others. A lot of racing games out there on the PS3 that aren't any where near the quality of GT5 have much better track lists. And we won't even talk about the myriad of options for PC titles.

I guess I'm different than most people on this forum. I would have been happy with 200~250 premium cars but wish PD had spent the resources on a dozen more tracks. Inevitably, I find with most racing games, the more time you spend with them, you tend to gravitate toward a dozen or so cars that you really like. But you never get tired of driving different tracks. At least I don't. For me that's where the fun comes from. There's so much content in GT5, for the same $60 as other games, I would have no issue to pay for additional tracks through DLC. But I doubt it will ever be an option.

A bit of a mixed bag today I guess.

I am with you dude. I feel the same way. Car count doesn't impress me but the tracks make my day. 6 years and this list we have is a joke. I sure hope they have something up their sleeve so that my CE GT5 will be worth it. Otherwise with the rating this will get overtime will hugely impact the sales of GT6. GT6 could very much be the first GT that I don't buy.

Congratulations to everyone that managed to ignore all the spam clean-up from last night and the posted warnings about continued spamming and have earned infractions today.
For those of you that would also like an infraction please continue discussing page numbers or post count and it will be arranged. :sly:
Otherwise it's strongly suggested to avoid this sort of useless discussion and continue with discussing GT5 News as the thread title suggests. 👍

Congrats on setting a great example with your attitude for all us forum-goers, too!! 👍

I think the scope of GT5 is too much. They have tried to focus on too much and maybe missed out on the core of what makes GT. Take Dirt 3 for example its going back to its rally roots.

http://uk.ign.com/videos/2010/11/12/dirt-3-dev-diary-part-1-rally?objectid=82108

Where as GT5 has Nascar, Go Karts, WRC, GT and F1 cars to sort out. They may have set the bar too high for themselves and I guess this is why a lot of people are either unhappy or disappointed.

I do think that maybe they should expand the GT brand and more smaller games that focus on different areas. GT Rally for example. But thats just me.

There are day to night transistions in Grid - that's first.
Second... All of them were made in less than 2 years (maybe with exception of F1) not ****g 6 years!

edit: Oh and don't forget Forza 3. Less than 2 years and over 400 (almost premium quality) cars with 22-23 tracks and damage.

What a lot of this whining actually comes down to is some people are annoyed that their 200 premium cars hasn't been used exclusively for supercars and prototypes.

I personally am glad that GT is still promoting variety by giving some very normal cars the premium treatment. The day that GT becomes all about supercars will be the day that GT stops being special.

Now here is a good way to look at it.

Page 3000! wooooo. I really like the track list, apart from the absence of Apricot Hill. As for the car list, I don't understand what it means when cars are both P and S, what is that about?
A copy for each :?

We wouldn't be where we are now if it wasn't for the delays of the game.
I quit if the ambience around here is so uptight... you should loosen up yourself a bit, especially when we are getting such a good news, the kind of news we have been all waiting ...

Enjoy feeling so important with your BigHead on your Smallhorse.

I wonder what Gamestop will do for Turismo Tuesday tomorrow. I guess it really does not matter since we got so many leaked videos, a complete car and track list, and.........a release DATE(finally). I feel like a kid anticipating for Christmas again.

spot on, and all for the same price as well. There's just no other game packed with that many features as this.

Posted in the Test Track thread as well, hope this doesn't get me in trouble here, I just want help making a better list.

I hope this hasn't been done as of yet, but here is a list of cars from the official list that are on the Top Gear power boards, with current board place and lap times included. This is by no means a definitive list, and there will be errors (cars named differently in UK than elsewhere, as is the case with the Evo's and some cars like Opel/Vauxhall/Saturn etc.) so corrections are very welcome.

It worries me that the Test Track isn't available in arcade mode (or at least wasn't in the first video) while nearly all the others were. Does that mean we only can play the Test Track in the Stig challenge? I was so excited about attempting to take on the Stig's times. Also a bit upset over no Kia Cee'd, Suzuki Liana, and Chevy Lacetti. But I suppose I'll get over it. Maybe they didn't include them to keep the competition on the show fair.

I wonder what Gamestop will do for Turismo Tuesday tomorrow. I guess it really does not matter since we got so many leaked videos, a complete car and track list, and.........a release DATE(finally). I feel like a kid anticipating for Christmas again.

Tomorrow isn't Tuesday?

Ah we are getting so close to having the mother of all racing games!
However personally I can't help feeling that Im going to miss the roller-coaster of emotions I experienced through the site, all the hype and guessing about release dates and content; brought a lot of excitement. Its fantastic that the game is finally going to be released, but I will really miss the drama that came with anticipating it :/

So much fun over the last weeks following this tread. Waiting together, hope together, having fun together. And from today on everyone starts to **** with GT5.
Not my way to celebrate the release date, so bye bye...

Yeah, There are many cars that I would like to see in GT, like the VW Passat, Vw Golf, Audi A4, Audi A6, not the fast ones, but a bit slower. In GT4 I loved to take a slow car and push it to its max. I dont like to drive 61 different skylines. Just one or two , maybe three, but not SO much. A bit more variaton and some more Europe cars. Saab isn't there, neither is Skoda. Those are quite popular brands in Europe, but still PD manages to ignore them.... I feel the Japanees are being treated better then the Europeans...

Agreed, *cough* NFS.

And i want to be able to choose from 61 skylines, and a hundred civics and a thousand miatas!

I guess the game was made for me!

And yes i will drive them all!

So after 3 hours have past from reading the release date, it finally sunk in, and I can't wait. Sure I wish there were more tracks, and different choices on premium cars and what not. But I can't wait to play it.

Time to tell the boss, that I wan't the 29th through the 3rd off. We already have Thanksgiving and Black Friday off.
