Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one this sort of thing has happened to. I guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for more of these kinds of shenanigans. It doesn't bother me, in fact I think it's funny, and I'm glad the AI has intelligence enough to be aggressive, or in my case even cheat.

Ya, in the A-spec, there is always 1 guy with a over powered car and an overly aggresive psychy. Find him and give him a taste of his own medicine I say :grumpy:

It seems there are a couple cars that CAN'T be damaged. I slammed the Mazda Furai pretty hard into a post and there was no signs of damage. Other cars can't be damaged as much as others. The Toyota Tacoma sustains a lot less damage than the Dodge Ram. It is very interesting.
 
Has anyone else noticed the destinct lack of school boy racers looking for a destruction derby online? Its been absolutely fantastic for me since day one. Every race ive been in has been clean, fast and loads of fun. Have come across a couple of slow drivers, but even they werent dirty. I am extremely pleased with the online feature of GT5, best online racer ive used.

Yep, I noticed it too. Just a fun overall experience so far. I hope it stays like this.

Lol, i played online on the day before release, and my lobby was full of French drivers driving the wrong way and smashing into me. I haven't tried it since.
 
can you set up a private race with just you and a friend yet?

Can you invite somebody, do you have to create your own room?

Any advice much appriciated.

Click coffe icon in your gtlife. When your friend go into your gtlife (click on your icon in community) he will see coffe icon with additional icon above it.

If he will click it he will hoin your lobby from lobby you can do anything you want.

Very happy to hear that bummers are absent from GT5 online!
 
For those complaining about the rim selection: There are a LOT of licensed rims in the game. I mean, every time I've taken a close up photo of a rim, it's been from a different brand. The reason why we don't have individual brands to select from is 'cause there are WAY too many brands to list. I mean...

SSR, VR Works, RAYS....And that's just the one's I can name.

Personally, I like the new rim selection as you get a selection of rims that will look good on your car. But...I mean, the sheer volume of rims and brands in this game is enormous. I would even bet GT5 has a record for number of licensed rim brands in a racing game.

I agree on the large number of available wheels, but I disagree about not being able to select/use the majority of wheels that are available throughout GT5.
 
The classifications for some events are either incorrect of too lenient, they should restrict the cars much more harshly so you cant overlap on a 3 lap race.
 
I saw yesterday when playing online with a friend that the tyre heat indicator was slowly getting empty. This showed the wear of the tires and when the back pair was empty, the car was basiclly undrivable.

It is weird that it shows the wear in online mode but not in singleplayer. I been burning my tires like hell and even if they get worn down, there is no indication of it on the HUD. They do get red more quickly after a while and the grip is gone. But must be a bug in the singleplayer that doesnt make it show in the HUD

That's 'cause tire ware isn't turned on for the majority of single player. Wait until you unlock Endurance races. Or you can go to Practice mode and turn on "tire ware and fuel consumption".
 
Reading this thread this GT5 sounds really half assed.... Please say nooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never seen any option to turn on tire ware and fuel consumption in practice.

Or do you mean Arcade mode?

Where are all the AI take outs ?
Meaning AI cars taking each other out ? Im yet to see that...
 
The one thing I will hand to PD is they are acting really quick to address the communities concerns and issues regarding gameplay and the online aspect of the game. As much as I enjoy FM3, the developers seemed a little too interested in their own ideas for online gaming and cars they wanted and not enough of what the community where asking for. So kudos to PD for that.

Yeah the previous games either got this right or completely wrong if i remember correctly...GT5 seems a mixed bag, though when it let me in to the Beginner hot hatches race (whatever it was called) with my MX-5 i pulled out and selected a more appropriate car. Shouldn't have to do that though!
