Can we see/save online races replays ?

I don't think so. I know I haven't seen any way too. We need that added in my opinion.

Yeah , the strange thing is that there´s an option for Online replays in the theater mode

It's there, guys!

After the race finishes, when you return to the game's lobby, click on the podium icon (to show race results). At the bottom of this screen is an option to save the replay. I saved a replay of a near-16 stong field at Nordschliefe and watched it back - it's perfect. Only odd thing is you cannot change the camera angle of an online replay; it's the default TV replay... so I guess, not quite perfect :) Was also able to take beautiful photos from the online replay and treasure a memory of my first race online in GT5 at the Green Hell :sly:

boys...GLOWING BRAKES???i thought they were in!

You can see them on racecars. Try the intermediate AMG challenge and you will see red hot brakes on the tuned SLS in the replay when braking hard.

Ive been trying to spot them in my replays with no luck so far. I think you might be able to see them on race cars. I dont really have any "good" race cars yet so maybe that is why. Im sure its there. Just got to look hard enough:sly:

I've had glowing brakes all over the place. Keep looking!

I just unlocked Nurburgring last night and I just played on it today. All I have to say is oh my God. The ring at night+rain=scary as 🤬.

Oh, I already loathe the Nürburgring. Racing that track at night with rain there is my Mission 34 (GT4 reference).

I know it has been said before but how did you unlock the nurburgring?I fogot

Can we see some pics of your glowing brakes? I`ve yet to see them on any car in replays. I have done some high speed runs and braked hard(abs 1) to a complete stop repeatedly and nothing yet.

Just go to the La Sarthe track, take a Zonda R, go insanely fast and brake hardcore at mulsanne (don't know the name of that corner that ends the long straight).

Don't worry about glowing brakes, they are there. They look glorious in the night also.

Thanks! I dont have a zonda though :ouch:. I ran the buick special down the no chicane mulsanne straight and had to pull it up from the naughty side of 300km/h for the right hander and nothing. I`ll re check it though :dunce:

Jake didn't lose his gamesave, and deleting and re-installing the game does not lose your progress, at least this time. 👍

Did you delete the game save or just the game data utility?

Kotaku 'Shop Contest: GT5 WTF

Tuesday, Luke posted a set of pictures and asked which were from real life, and which were from Gran Turismo 5. This week's 'Shop Contest draws on that.

Here's the gist of it: Fake us out, or fail horribly with something really hilarious. Take a GT5 screenshot and 'Shop in another car - with 1,061 in the game, that's going to be difficult, but I don't think it has a firetruck, ambulance or Batmobile. Or take a real picture of a race and 'Shop in a GT5 car.

We'll take serious, well done entries that are, truly, visually inconclusive as to which cars are what. For that, we ask that you supply your source material in a subsequent comment (just hit reply to your submission). I don't want people thinking they can send in an un-'Shopped image and fake their way into the roundup.

If you're going funny, you still need to do a good 'Shop job with it, but obviously something blatantly out of place is the best strategy. Then again, all of you are highly creative and smart 'Shoppers, so you'll think of something funnier than that trope, I'm sure.

If you need GT5 screenshots, we have tons of that. Try here, here, or here.

Post your submissions in the comments. The 20 best will get rounded up and published at the end of next Saturday. Meantime, I and the rest of the starred commentariat will approve and promote as many as we can so folks can see them and pass judgment. Remember, if you're trying to get a comment account approved, turning in a worthy 'shop is an easy path to the privilege.

^ My pick would be the Batmobile, the Evo meet, the Wienermobile, and the O.J. Simpsons Bronco. :sly:

We're not able to delete the gamesave, so just the data utility. We did delete and then re-install the game, but the newly installed game went to the gamesave without corruption.

Please don't ruin the experience for those of us that haven't got that far yet. I removed the rest of your quote as you gave away a big spoiler. I'll leave this thread if spoilers are allowed (perhaps a mod could kindly clarify) but I don't think the outcome of completing a major event should be discussed here.

Sorry, I thought that "spoiler" was already verified on another thread under prized cars..

Has there been any mention/rumors about proper online matchmaking, like something we had in GT5P? I know everyone wanted custom lobbies back then but not at the complete sacrifice of matchmaking. I assume this is slated to come online sometime, I've just not seen any mention of it anywhere.

I hate getting 0.01 seconds off gold for licenses!!!

Oh that happened to me on A5 and A8, steaming mad. I sure am happy that I decided to buy a steering wheel though, DFGT. Just keep plugin away though.👍

Yea as close as yer gonna get on console I reckon. A little more forgiving than iRacing though, but that's not a bad thing. I like them both in different ways.
Am enjoying GT more every day. Have been playing B-spec mode for the first time ever. Never played it in the previous GT. Great fun :)
There was one race I couldn't get my ai driver to win for ages and couldn't afford to tweak the car anymore so actually fiddled with settings (camber, suspension, gears, brake bias etc.) and it actually made a difference. He went on to win. Cool that you can get a setup and see the difference when the ai drives it.
Nice feature.

So what are the graphics like on iRace? With flight sims I found MS Flight Simulator has the best graphics, but X-Plane is the better sim. It's graphics are fair to middling though.

I had some display issues with GT5 originally, but the graphics are looking pretty damn spectacular now. A little more flicker than I would like on some of the city tracks (which interestingly was the same in earlier version of GT), and of course some pretty chunky pixelation in the odd shadow or with particle effects, but overall really spectacular.

I am a big FSX fan ;) You should try fsx with something like the PMDG 747x or MD-11X or Flight sim labs Concorde X. These are the top level of realistic aircraft simulation. Think the PMDG planes are about $70 though. You do get what you pay for though. Great quality. All systems modeled correctly.

Regarding iRacing, Yea looks really nice, new visuals being implimented after christmas plus the long awaited new tyre model. Be warned though, you pay for everything in iRacing. You pay a monthly subscription and then have to buy each car and track. $11.95 per car and $14.95 per track roughly. You also don't actually own them even at that :D, You pay to use the licence for the content. So when you stop paying your subscription you can't race offline. When you join again though if you even leave it for 6 months or so, all the stuff you bought is tied to your account for life so you won't loose any content you paid for.
It's expensive but worth it.
Racing physics and the general experience is flawless. You can race up to 30+ cars and no lag due to the fact you are always racing on iRacing server farms.
Same as anything in life really, you get what you pay for. All tracks are laser scanned so every bump is modelled to an accuracy of 1cm.
Due to the safety rating system it's also the cleanest and best racing experience ever.

Why are we talking about airplanes?

Also, the Snow rallies are SUPER easy. Too bad you can't continue to make money off of them.

Robulus just mentioned FSX and I am a big fan too ;)

Sorry for the off topicness of the whole thing :)
