Am I the only one wondering what the Jag's livery will look like? The cars currently in GT5 whose real life versions have sponsorship's from either tobacco or alcohol companies have them blurred out or replaced with something else, and since the Jag's main sponsor is Silk Cut Cigarettes, I'm just curious..

I won't be surprised if it's the same as standard car's.

Left over photos maybe? They could have taken pictures of the cockpit anyway.
Dude, this is PD we're talking about here. They have money, lots of 'em. Do you really think they have made a premium car from some old left over photos they took for making a GT4 car? Think again.

Why do you guys even argue about this in the first place? The car is there. Does it matter how it happened?

Well, I was surprised this morning lol

And perhaps they'll update info on the US, euro and japanese PS Blog only tomorrow. :(

@Strittan Creating a 3D model accurately from photos isn't that difficult when you know what your doing and what the car looks like. There is no real need for the physical car for the whole modelling process. Although i assume they would have some pretty good photos of it based on video footage of the PD team mapping cars in the past. Most of the modelling process is just from photos anyway, I've never seen and 3D modeller sit in front of a car and model it, that would probably be the least accurate way. They probably should just do 3D scans of cars then tidy them up a little for in game, would save a HUGE amount of time and the technology has been there for many years now. They could even buy models from manufacturers engineering teams, they usually have some pretty damn accurate 3D scans or models of the cars for analysis and promo purposes.

I bought the book about the history of GT just after GT4 came out. It stated that PD took photos of all cars inside and out. So a car that is standard, does have the possibility of being premium since they did take photos of it already.

Mind sharing the name of the book? Really curious about that.

Sure, here it is: Driving The Game : The GT Experience by Leo Hartas

Nice DLC pack imo. Glad we've got another premium Aston, the Aventador is beastly of course and the Mini Countryman is a nice little addition :) Leaf isn't bad, Beetle is ok and the Jag getting premium treatment is a good step forward. All in all, looking forward to next Wednesday 👍

Also, I'm over the moon that they've FINALLY given us a test track where you can measure things such as a 1 mile drag time. It was sadly lacking until now. Nice one, PD!

They're just giving us what we want. PD is top notch when it comes to listening to their customers.

If you search this very forum, you can see the two things people cited as wanting the most were the Aventador and for standards to gradually be up-scaled into premiums. Here you got the Lambo and one of the very best standards becoming a premium.

I haven't seen anyone asking for the Beetle, but I guess they just read our minds. This car is an absolute classic, a car you can find whenever you go, West of the World. It's the 4th most sold car in the entire planet, but if you think about, it's the very most sold car in the world that hasn't major chassis and structural changes during it's time on sale (the top 3 are Golf, F150 and Corolla). So it's an absolute classic, and a must have car on any car game.

Really? How hard would be to add "Music on/off" to the pause menu? I've been Tweeting Kaz about that long before the game released.

Don't we already have a [Premium] Slug Bug??? Why do we need another?

Because we don't have a premium VW Beetle '66 and now we'll have one :)

No, we don't already have one. We only have a Standard version.

Edit: Tree'd.

I agree and I'm wondering too. I'd much rather see a "Stealth" livery applied similar to the Stealth 787B than some purple, yellow and white lookalike paint scheme.

The only difference would be some form of 'barcode' to replace the Silk Cut logos (as has been done with the standard version), the rest will be accurate. I don't think it's a big deal.

Haters gonna hate...

But anyway. You might've been tweeting Kaz for ever, but have you seen a lot of people complaining about this in this thread? I haven't.

Never have I ever raced with music on (and I think most people in these forums are with me in this one), so I can't really complain about it...

We don't have a premium Beetle until Car Pack 3 and it's more than welcome.

You do realize all of the Group C cars, bar the Peugeot 905, were built with fuel efficency in mind, as per the rules of the series, right? They just didn't have the technological advancements to make them as efficent as they are today.

Yeah. But Group C cars when looked at now, don't shout 'Look, we save the environment' do they?

Me too. I can wait! One of my favorite cars ever!

Well, I would rather see another livery get modeled even if it the car it mimics is less well-known or notable. Rather than model a livery only for it to not be accurate.

Since when is making a car only about modeling? What happened to physics and sound? They have to make each car behave as close to the real thing as possible, which I can imagine is pretty time consuming.

Considering some of the oversights PD have made in the cars so far I doubt that they spend much more time then just putting the stats into the engine and testing if it moves.

Is it just me, or is it the recently announed course have some influence to a certain Ridge Racer course? :dunce: (I'm looking on you, Out of Blue)

I'm so sad, a new car pack and it not appear the Mugen Honda Civic type R FN2 ...

Go away, Buzzkillington. We're trying to enjoy the awesomeness of this DLC.

No no, I agree with him, I mean the DLC doesnt even have the Millennium Falcon or the very 1991 Vauxhall Cavalier that I used to own... talk about a DLC fail :sly:

There are many reasons why he might have access to this info. Lets just hope none of them include him losing his job as a result

Unless he is Kaz I think every possibility could lead to some kind of consequence.

Love the posts though, it's either legit or someone is a photoshop god, or spent a lot of time in Maya to pull this off. Lol

Well we can all rejoice in the fact we shall soon know the answer :)

Not to mention the '88 Chevy Cavalier I used to own. And I want it to blow the water pump once a month like my real one did or the entire game isn't realistic at all. As a matter of fact, why isn't every Cavalier ever made in the game?!?

On another note here is the Maintenance Notice on the official GT US site:

Beetle. And it has been confirmed. Heaven will from Wednesday and on be a place on earth (GT5), so shut up, complainers!
