So no GT5 news for 2 months. Was there ever been official news since the last E3 or TGS? I don´t mean news that members found on GTP or Interviews, I mean really official news from Kaz,PD or Sony? And also not Youtube videos from mimaximax...

So no news, here we got great news for TDU2, there will be a beta version before the release...

I can´t believe what Sony/PD is doing with us...

Test drive will be garbage for sure.it wont sell good..Gt5 later this year..There s no time for TDU2.I am not interested in semi-GTA games. No modification No damage no Circuits Nothing. Its not definitely not mine,,,i dont understand why people make more hype for TDU2..Theres no difference TDU much..Its exactly same without buy Yatch Room to walk in house,.Map could be Big and better looking but i want something new.Its Medicore game dont waste your time to give hype..Im more interested in CriterionNFS game.Thatsthe quality cuz of developer..Burnout Paradise Has alot successes..Its the best driving game to date in this gen.Online is unbeatable theres lots of somehing to fun..Criteron must be add damage system which used Burnout to new NFS game..There are licences damages and maybe open world.

Test Drive series was always crap, now its more like the sims with wanker supercars.

GT or bust.

Some just don't seem to get the fact that if they(PD) put more time and manpower to giving us trailers and pics and crap those people wont be working on the game meaning it will take longer to release

I'm ok with waiting for the all out attack on the senses when they decide to delve into details, but i certainly dont want to wait a few weeks or months more for release because we just had to know right away!

Sometimes this thread reminds me of those old footage of hysterical-screaming girls pulling their hairs everytime the Beatles went on stage...

About to hit 1 million views of this thread...........wow. Voyeurism is so dirty.

*guilty*

I also don´t have any interest in TDU2. I only wan´t to say how they give their fans some infos, screens, an beta and more...

What´s the problem to give us an screenshot from an new track with an new car? What´s the problem? I DON`T UNDERSTAND IT! Tell me what´s the problem?

I know exactly how you feel. Seems like a tiny request. I'm just not sure what they're trying to hide.

And to reveal a car in a screenshot is very typical of PD. Very discreet. Would be a nice treat!

No doubt man i play Forza3 a lot to hold me over till GT5, but i always find my self coming back to GT5P The physics in Forza3 really bug me sometimes. Imo i feel the cars are way to easy to drive. one day i was watching a show about the Carrera GT. They were saying how careful you had to be with the throttle while driving because the car had so much power and response. So I'm thinking to myself damn let me play Forza and try this out. I take the Porsche on the Mountain pass and driving the car was as easy as taking candy from a baby!
I think most people will disagree once you drive R2 & R1 cars. The new SSC in the game is also a very hard car to set quick times with no aids.

You haven't even played it yet, so how do you know? There is damage, there is customization, & there are going to be 1 or 2 small circuits.

Maybe if you paid attention instead of spouting off like that dufus who acted like he knew everything about F1 2010, your "opinion" would hold more ground instead of actually trying to say TDU2 is crap, & then act as if Burnout has nailed what racing is all about, despite that it, TDU2, & even GT5, are all aiming for different areas of car enthusiasm.

The funniest thing is that TDU offers players when buying cars to pick from nearly all the real world options before purchase, a feature I've seen more than enough people here want in GT5.

Also maybesome people like arcade racing. I've seen a few people hear get hyped for a kart game coming to PS3.

IMO the reason why PD don't want to release a lot of info is because of the competition. Remember, GT has been one of the most rivalry of racing game/sim out there. And releasing a lot of info can cause them a lot when it comes to features or car selection.

Nah. Big disagree here. GT has been somewhat behind most racing games in the past (in terms of car selections), and as of right now, GT5 is still far behind many games because we haven't seen many new cars. GT5 has had to play catch-up in the past 5.5 years with all of these new and powerful rides showing up around the world.

I first used an F1 back in NFS: High Stakes (a decade or so ago), and now finally in GT5 we'll be able to ride one. Many racing games have had Ferrari and Lamborghini for years, and now GT5 finally can flaunt them? It seems nearly every racing game since GT4 has a CCX in it. It seems many games have a Porsche in it. Then we can talk about Maserati some and other manufacturers, but I am not here to bash the game.

To be fair, though, we still know so little, so I would wait for the surprises to roll in. I am sure PD has gotten more manufacturers than Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Bugatti. And having RUF sets GT apart from most games. An underrtated manuacturer in a huge game=awesome. It'll be more apparent in GT5, too, if they add RUF's newer models.

Agreed 👍

Maybe this comes from their "we don´t care about other games" politics... I don´t expect anything mind blowing revolutionary new feature from GT5... Who needs this GPS thing or some move support... thats nothing that will redefine the racing sim genre...

TDU is a virtual showroom minus cheap-cologne smelling salesmen.

But ill take less interior stitching options over more detail, physics and ACTUAL RACING any day.

Whats the point of having wanked out supercars if all the corners are 60kph 90 degrees lined with trees and mailboxes and small designer dogs in the way?

There are no apexes to hit cuz they all full of lamp posts and crap. Please.

GTA satisfies that urge enough, despite not having licensed cars, you can play dress up and race in the streets or cruise, PLUS you can beat on old women and bums till they start talking about reptilians.

Yes Ruf, but don't forget GT4's Alpine, Autobianchi, Jensen, MiniMarcos, Cizeta, Hommel, Triumph, Auto-Union, Chaparral, Ginetta, etc.
Can't think of any other big console game which would include these brands ( some largely forgotten/unknown by the masses/legendary but only by petrolheads/or just too leftfield to be even considered by other games ) whatever your viewpoint regarding these cars.:)

Funny, I played GT4 yesterday, looking at some of the manufacturers. I was trying to see which models would likely get axed and what new models would be added.

For example, Chevrolet's new cars are the following:

Chevrolet SSR 2003
Chevrolet Camaro SS 2000
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) 2000
Chevrolet Silverado SST Concept 2002

Then I thought wow, that SSR will probably be axed. Then I thought that the C5 Vette might become a classic, and that the Silverado will have its newer model in GT5. Then I thought about how many new Chevy models will make it in: ZR1 C6, C6 ZO6, Camaro 2010, etc.

But I do believe we'll be seeing less Japanese cars from GT4 in GT5. Now that the world's car are being more properly represented in GT5, I think we'll be getting a much clearer view/less biased view of the world and what cars belong to who, etc.

Wouldn't mind personally trading in the old Camaro for the new one and the only positive thing I can remember about the SSR was the rather lovely sound it produced when fully tuned, but ofcourse this is just my opinion.

There will probably be some cars which will vanish unnoticed by most ( first generation Citroen C5 anyone? ) and although some perhaps will love the cars I just mentioned I'm glad none of us have to make these decisions.

Guess one new Chevy which will probably make the cut if the whole hybrid/electric-hype is to be believed ( Tesla, etc.) might be the new Volt..................( although I would rather include something like the Cadillac Sixteen).

I think most, if not all the manufacturers will stay. I just think, as you said, many models will be cut and those models won't turn many heads.

Now, take all the GT4 manufacturers and add the new ones: McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti. WOW!

Even without Porsche, it'll be an amazing roster of manufacturers alone! Then add all of the models up and it supposedly is around 1,000? Holy....you know.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see many 2009 and newer cars. With the amount of cars in the game, they have to stop and some point and make them, probably making a cut off date for cars. In GT4 the cut off looked like 2004MY, so cars made in 2003 and older. There were a couple concepts of course. So with GT5, I'm expecting the cut off to be 2009MY for most cars with a handful of 2010MY cars.

I did mean cars as in models not brands, although it is not guaranteed some brands could also be axed ( Venturi, Vector in previous GT-versions ) although like you I can only hope all the brands in GT4 will remain with those new ones added.
But nothing is sure at this point however, we can only hope.........

And dave_sz, think some manufacturers will allow PD to model their new cars before they are actually introduced ( the new BMW 3-series in GT4 for instance ) and I don't know how PD organizes the development of GT5, could be a small team keeps modelling new cars until the deadline.

Even if some GT4 manufacturers are axed, there'll definitely be other new ones waiting in the wing. And I still think about 3-6 manufacturers are waiting to be announced someday soon.

Well, GT4 was made like what? 6, 7 years ago? And yet some other game doesn't have the concept cars from GT4, but only showed up in only 2 years or 3 years old game. Like the Audi R8 that showed up in NFS Carbon. Don't forget about some manufactures too, like the Spyker (only recently in FM3), Callaway, RUF, etc. Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc, are all understandable. They were all exclusive to a specific holder (mainly EA), that's why they never got a chance to be in GT before. But since then a lot has changed, I'm sure PD right now has a lot of things they can bring to the table (in car selection wise). And they got more support from the car companies better than they did in GT4 or IMO than any car sim/game out there.

Edit: And for the car year issue. Remember, there's no such thing as DLC back then in GT4, and the power of DLC and internet can make it easy to have an update in car selection or add newer cars in GT5.

Yes. Now I'm looking forward to some nice folks capturing this on camera and putting it on YouTube. Pretty please?

Thanks DonZonda! 👍

Ugh. I hope that Conan's 90's Ford Taurus is left OUT! Waste of time modelling that clunker, IMO. Love Conan, but hate the Taurus.
