I know but thats from the future, and won't be shown on TV. I think there will be a present one come fall.

Oh, I'm from Spain so I didn't know that in North America those adverts were being shown on TV.

Well the longer ones like that one and the one from today aren't, but the shorter ones usually are.

PS3Blog owner was at the NS24H race and he says he talked with the guys from Sony. He is saying in his blog that he can´t tell us when the GT5 Demo will be available.

I can live with that, an GT5 demo till the full game will come at christmas 2010

I'd rather have the full game earlier dude, Christmas? That's far far away.

However, if confirmed I would appreciate any new demo. 👍

Ive been following this track number topic awhile and Im of the school of thought that thinks 'Location' is Country (or even better, Region). The content confirmation from TGS09 indicated that there would be a World Map, and therefore this suggests to me that the track selection would be setout based on thier location within the world map, i.e. within a country. As usual, Kaz is confirming content in as ambiguous-a-way as possible. we ask, 'how many tracks?', he responds, 'over 20 locations and 70 variations'. he tells us what we'll get, but not the number of tracks. Crafty! He probably loves all the debate and research that goes on within the community, i do. At least on the brighter side we can still expect a surprise when its a) announced or b)seen in the game on Day 1, plus we get the 'enjoyment' of all this banter till then. ;)

Theres a Car Dealer identfed in the TGS content, so im guessing this will no longer work on a country basis like GT4, so to me it all comes down to the World Map being a dedicated menu for track locations.

But quite simply i think i would be a little disappointed if only 20 individual 'track locations' were present as we know that there exist a whole lot more in the Gran Turismo history (both real and ficitional) and based on the number of tracks we currently know/expect theres just too many variations (over 70) to be limited to just 20 individual track locations.

Thats my opinion and thats what im expecting. im keen to hear others ongoing thoughts as we go along (i tend to visit the site every day these days...) but i think we've pretty much exhausted every possible interpretation of PD's statement so somewhere in all this discussion, someones already nailed it and more tracks will gradually come out of the ether to lead us in one direction of the other..

But ive got my fingers crossed for Locations = Country's/Regions.

PS- and bring back complex string!
Bear in mind that there's been a map in every full GT game barring GT3. To me that's just PD naming the main GT mode screen as the "world map" same as GT4 and having all the other options like home, events, dealerships etc off that main map. Naturally, I'm hopefull we get as many tracks as we can but considering the facts that we have, the low number of uynique tracs actually confirmed at this time, the SCE guy explaining that Daytona = 1 locatiosn and it has 2 track (oval and infield). Kazunori describing that we'll have 20 odd locations and 70 varations within thoes and the technical aspect of modelling so many tracks leaves you with a big leap to get 70 actaul different track locations each with thier own varations. I can see the possiblity of it being one or the other or something completely different, but I see more evidence poiting to 20 odd tracks with 70 odd variations, and before anyone says that doesn't add up, just think about the rally stages. They could be the key variation booster in this by having variations in high single to double figures for each rally location.

The german PlayStation.Blog will release a video from the Nürburgring event at the end of the week. They released many photos from the event today: Link

Is the Camping World Truck series included too and is it both Sprint Cup & Nationwide Series

I'm assuming you mean for the NASCAR portion of game. As of now, it only appears to be the Sprint Cup Series.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I found the map in GT4 a bit clunky. I'm hoping that we'll just get some really nice thought out, streamlined menus like we have seen in some of those Nurb 24 videos.

Of course the original Japanese posted on the SCEJ site said "layout", not location. It was a French article translated into English that said "location".

VERY strong GT4 feeling. Plain graphics, same sky, same sounds, same brick like colissions... after 5 years of development :scared:

It's pretty disappointing video for me and is really showing that only cars in the GT are really nextgen, no other aspect of the game.

Noway, this picture is from sls demo(Mercedes museum)so it's old and look at the grass, the textures are crap!!look at this pictureshttp://static.blogo.it/gamesblog/supergtgt5nurburgring.jpg[/ IMG]

And to everyone else who kept going on and on about how crap the 'Ring looked:
I want to see the "New" nurburgring, the one they were finishing up in that interview, not the nurburgring from GT4, Which..to this day is still neck and neck to the real thing, more then any other game to come out.

Imagine the "new" nurburgring in GT5.
This guy was faithful^

Layout or location, that's quite a difference.
Assuming variation was correctly translated?

Actually... no. The original text said (more than) 20 courses and (more than) 60 layouts. "Variation" and "location" were never in there until the Google-translated-to-English French translation (of the Google-translated-from-Japanese French translation) turned up.

The argument back then was it meant 20 tracks with 3 versions of each. My translation was that "course" meant tracks that already existed (real circuits) and "layout" meant tracks that PD had laid out (PD circuits).

However, the information was pulled. Whether that's because it was right and a leak, or because it was wrong and misleading... we won't know until the game comes out. But I'm preferring to think that, as every other piece of information in there was correct, it was right and there will be 20+ real tracks and 60+ fantasy ones (which may yet be 30+ forward and 30+ backward).

If anyone cares, by that standard GT4 had 9 courses (not including shortened versions) and 63 layouts (including forward and reverse versions). So we're looking at all the GT4 tracks, possibly with the addition of both Eigers and maybe a return for a couple of old favourites, and at least 11 new real circuits (Daytona and Indianapolis being two).

Hey, champ. :sly:

Seriously, the more I think about it, the more this makes sense. It may be me hoping it into reality though.

But it aligns with the weather reports on GT5P and aligns with the expected number of tracks in a game of this caliber.

Thanks Famine for clarifying it somewhat, although we indeed won't know until confirmed, hopeful that the number of tracks isn't reduced from the amount we had in GT4.
That's all I want anyway, apart from looking forward to all the new tracks ofcourse.

So did Kazunori and his team win or get a place in the GT4 class?

Problem is, that's at the bottom of the Steilstrecke, and then the Karussel; that's considerably less than 90% done! :scared:

^^^By the way, I have a feeling that the commercial for Man Furismo Jive is going to play on these same jokes. It'll be great.
