Ive been following this track number topic awhile and Im of the school of thought that thinks 'Location' is Country (or even better, Region). The content confirmation from TGS09 indicated that there would be a World Map, and therefore this suggests to me that the track selection would be setout based on thier location within the world map, i.e. within a country. As usual, Kaz is confirming content in as ambiguous-a-way as possible. we ask, 'how many tracks?', he responds, 'over 20 locations and 70 variations'. he tells us what we'll get, but not the number of tracks. Crafty! He probably loves all the debate and research that goes on within the community, i do. At least on the brighter side we can still expect a surprise when its a) announced or b)seen in the game on Day 1, plus we get the 'enjoyment' of all this banter till then.
Theres a Car Dealer identfed in the TGS content, so im guessing this will no longer work on a country basis like GT4, so to me it all comes down to the World Map being a dedicated menu for track locations.
But quite simply i think i would be a little disappointed if only 20 individual 'track locations' were present as we know that there exist a whole lot more in the Gran Turismo history (both real and ficitional) and based on the number of tracks we currently know/expect theres just too many variations (over 70) to be limited to just 20 individual track locations.
Thats my opinion and thats what im expecting. im keen to hear others ongoing thoughts as we go along (i tend to visit the site every day these days...) but i think we've pretty much exhausted every possible interpretation of PD's statement so somewhere in all this discussion, someones already nailed it and more tracks will gradually come out of the ether to lead us in one direction of the other..
But ive got my fingers crossed for Locations = Country's/Regions.
PS- and bring back complex string!
