Just to make this thread aware, the interview with Andrew House, President and CEO of SCEE in which he was asked questions about the GT5 release date should be posted on eu.playstation.com sometime in the next two hours... "Unless I get any dissapointing emails, that is :sly:" - MusterBuster

I'm not sure what to expect, but I think we may be in for a pleasant surprise...

"GT5 will be released............soooooooooon" :dopey:

On a more serious note, thanks for the info 👍

"Is Gran Turismo 5 just a myth? (Nukem79, Macasfaj, yankien, NICKY_OM_13)
Absolutely not. It’s looking amazing and will be out soon."

Wow, I can predict the future...

Soon-adverb,-er, -est.

1.
within a short period after this or that time, event, etc.: We shall know soon after he calls.

2.
before long; in the near future; at an early date: Let's leave soon.

3.
promptly or quickly: He came as soon as he could.

What an waste of time to post questions there... Epic answer really...

Sorry but what did everyone expect from a Sony CEO? Just because some decided to bombard a forum with a single question didn't change the foreseeable outcome it was going to be reduced to a single question asked to someone who won't step aside from strict corporate policy to answer something he wasn't going to or wasn't even allowed if he wanted to, apart from a 'polite' predictable response.

Now if Kaz was interviewed by 'the fans' the outcome might be different somewhat, but come on, this was just meant to happen wasn't it?

Yep, I expected nothing more, and to be honest I'm sure they were chuckling to themselves as they completely ignored the childish spamming of the forum only to provide THE shortest, answer on there! Yes, I did take part in that spamming, but in my multi-part question, sensibly asked, one part did get picked out and included in that list. Go figure!

He could have shut up instead of punching the GT community in the face with that god damn "soon". It feels like the GT community would just be a small niche, but we are actually the biggest for the whole PlayStation family, I can't believe that...

I saw 'very soon' in SEVERAL answers. I think as a job requirement a Sony employee has to overly use the word soon

Let me get this straight. People began asking when he was going to answer the questions. But then when they finally post the Q&A up and he answers that we will know more soon, considering supposed press releases saying E3, you wish he would have just not spoken?

It's like a Bill Cosby skit gone wrong.

Well, they (marketing) probably sent emails to all of the "public figures" of PD and Sony stating they would like them to approach certain questions certain ways. Surely, they preferred the word "soon" because it is optimistic yet vague.

Sorry to take your statement so literally by the way.

By GT Community, you mean people on here that spammed the forum in childish, big, bold, colourful letters? I honestly fail to see why anybody would be surprised by the answer given, especially with E3 just around the corner. If we get the same "soon" response at E3, with very little new information about the game, fine, then start hating again!

Anyone know when we'll get Kevin's "Man Furismo Jive" review?

If anything, the bombardment of questions only cemented the fact for them GT5 will be a sure hit.
If there wasn't a single question regarding GT5 they might actually start worrying and release more info perhaps, think some might have shot themselves in the foot expecting more because they asked for more.
And maybe 'soon' might still mean soon to anyone not regularly visiting this forum, it has obviously taken up a different meaning here, but i don't think anyone 'important' at Sony is even aware of that.

"When can you start?"
"Soon"
"You're hired!"
:)

I didn't expect any answer, with the posts on the forum I just wanted to gain a bit attention to the GT community, I didn't expect any releasedate information or anything. Like I mentioned in the other thread, I asked if we will get any new infos before the E³, we got new stuff (Nürburgring) and maybe will get (Le Mans) so I didn't care anymore. But I also didn't expect this soon crap, which is in my opinion a bit disrespectful to the fans who are hearing this "soon" since October.

@TokyoDrift: He didn't say we will get the announcement soon, he said the game will be released soon, that could still mean 2011 since that "soon" already was spanned across at least 2 internal releasedates in the past 6 months.

I wonder how kaz behavior is at home out of work...

Is he the loving hard working family man....

OR is he the type to vomit in your flower bed, Goose your mother, Go to the pub, Get drunk, and kick some ones face in. :sly:

Yup, based on history, soon could indeed mean, at the very least, Fiscal Year 2010. The truth is though, I'm past caring now. Sure I'm keen on hearing news, visit these forums daily, and would love to hear a "final" release date that was not too far in the future, but hope can't change anything in this case.

Don't forget this:

Which game is going to be the "big one" after GT5?
I think we have a fantastic line-up of games coming out later this year and into 2011. We have just announced LittleBigPlanet 2, which is very exciting. The original game changed the way developers now look at developing games and the things Media Molecule has done with the sequel are truly incredible. I can’t wait for LBP2 to come out and can promise you that it will be great.

Basically confirms GT5 comes out sooner than LittleBigPlanet 2, which is scheduled for October.
