ok fixed
WRC cars in gt5 using real-life sounds!!

Don't know why people even bother to make or post these dubbed sound videos, maybe it's just me but I can't really see the point of them.
All they do is confuse and possibly disappoint people, sure those sounds are great but to me it's the same as showing real life racing footage and then adding a GT-badge to it so it appears to be GT5 gameplay footage.

Because we're bored and it's fun. It kinda kills the wait. So,, how do you like my newest vid?

I imagine fishing for audio samples to use for each car is a bit like loop-diggin'; you sort of know what you're looking for, but it takes some effort to get exactly what you need, and a lot of the time you can be surprised by the results. Except it's probably more like looking for free sound effects for an amateur (= zero budget) production...

Still, I find them difficult to watch, since the dubbing is never going to be "perfect" using samples that way.

The R8 V10 has the wrong headlights(xenon), it comes with LED standard

^^^ Your picture didn't show up, apparently netcarshow.com doesn't like hotlinking.

If I had a dollar for every netcarshow.com picture posted with the "No Hotlinking" image coming up instead on this forum, I'd be rich. People never seem to realise either, they just leave without fixing it.

I rember a while back people were complaining about cars spinning out when touching the grass in GT5

I came across this video, and grass is slippery at high speed in real life too, so stay off it :)

Sorry if I'm late to the party, but that was total driver screw-up right there. Turned that wheel WAY too much + letting off the gas = bad things gonna happen.

Ouch. Ok so people can stop bashing the slippery grass in the time trial..

I would say judging by the weather in the video, it may have rained there over night or earlier in the day. Chances are the grass was a little wet.

Complete driver screw up right there, he looked in his rear view for too long and drove right onto the grass and crashed. *facepalm*

Again, stay off the grass, bad things happen :D
4WD cars at that

1 more at the end, great quality footage - just a slight nip of the grass and off she goes - At Cadwell Park, nice track, and quite a bit of biffing and nudging going on!

That last video was quite good. You can see the other cars dipping wheels off the track and kicking up dust several times during the race with little to no effect, but when the driver puts an outside wheel on the grass in what was a fairly fast corner the results are immediate.

It's been a long time since I played the TT so I'm struggling a bit to remember now. I do remember thinking that the grass was fine in the sense that it made you crash if you were driving at 100% and you stuck a wheel on it. I also remember being annoyed that it was impossible to back off and run wide onto the grass and maintain any semblance of momentum. If there's an accident in front of me and I need to slow down and run wide around them onto the grass then that needs to be possible, and it didn't feel like an option in the TT.

I hope now it will work for more than a few minutes...sorry

Greetings all, this is my first post. Anyhow today I pre ordered the gt5 signature edition at JB Hifi Sydney Australia. Guess how much it's going to be?!! Aud$299!!!

Imari: exactly. And they should also get rid of that limitation of pushing full throttle on grass... when things go wrong and you just can't get back in a reasonable time...

BTW: that last video was a combination of grass under wheel, middle engined car and power liftoff for braking into next corner and off it went... hard ... That is tha main problem when on grass in a RWD car - power liftoff and braking. Had a very unpleasant experience myself on Nordschleife, going over grass in a very very fast corner (good 180km/h), but made it without contact. Got scared to the bones but returned back on track with only slightly reduced speed ...

When you think about it, tyres don't have a very large contact surface, so it makes sense how they can snap loose quite easily

Judging by this Top Gear track video, you can drive on grass just fine, as long as the tyres are not loaded

Man that looks like fun. Both the track and the racing. :dopey:👍

Another report and he posts the first Nascar damage footage!

That's definitely dynamic damage!
Not only that, there seems to be aerodynamics at play, the torn front splitter section after the first contact was flapping around
Plus the rear bumper dented quite easily from just reversing into the wall

When i arrived it was so great to be in line for this event, just looking at the other 200+ PS3 gamers was a great feeling. Then the doors opened and we started on our way in, This is it! Without delay i made my way straight over to GT5 3D to give it a spin.

I took a seat and put on my 3D spec’s and took the SLS AMG for a spin on the Nurburgring….. I’am afraid to say i was not too impressed. While I looked at the outside of the car in rear view so i could check out how the car looked, i noticed a few scuff’s and scratches on the SLS, which was my first taste of damage in a Gran Turismo game and that was cool but it was the fact the 3D didn’t really POP!. It seemed to be when i watched the screen without the 3D spec’s it looked ever so slightly blurry. Then when you put the spec’s on it pretty much just looks like normal HD. Don’t get me wrong it did look fantastic but i was hoping for a better 3D experience from GT5. I was expecting the inside of the car to “wrap around me” when in cockpit mode but i got nothing close. However I can’t stress this enough, This is not the finished product. On my very first lap with this GT5 beta the track disappeared completely which assures me many fixes and updates will be applied in the final product.

A little while later while talking to one of the staff from the BetaRooms he was telling me how they couldn’t seem to set it up properly and that there are some 3D configuration settings which should make it look like it’s supposed to. I asked if i could have a fiddle with the settings but then thought it would be unfair as there was a limited amount of time for everyone to get a try of everything. So I now await the release on November 2nd for GT5 to just come out and show the world all the cool features they’ve been keeping secret for so long.

Think about it! do you really think Polyphony Digital would release a game in 3D and have it not be the Best experience out there to date? I have massive faith in this game and i KNOW they will deliver THE! game of the decade.

Throughout the rest of my time at the BetaRooms I tried a few different cars on different tracks just to check out some stuff and one of the things i wanted to do was smash up a NASCAR. I remember Kazunori Yamauchi saying the NSACAR will break into a 1000 pieces, so i decided to test it out on this E3 beta demo version of GT5.

First of all the car seemed to feel pretty heavy in its handling. It seemed to really just want to go in a straight line with a lot of power but still manages to turn. I think (sounds obvious I know) it will be great for long tracks with long straights but if you need to whip this whip round lots of little tight corners, you’re gonna have a hard time. As for the damage, well it’s not that easy to demolish a car in the short amount of time the demo gives you but i tried my best. The point’s of impact seemed to crumple, exposing both front tires but I didn’t notice any pieces flying off the car really which brings me to thinking the finished product will have a whole new level of detail. But don’t mark my words as this is only me giving my impressions and thoughts. The only way to really know what’s going to happen is to play the game when it comes out.

Don’t worry people’s GT5 WILL be the greatest racing game you have ever played and the 3D will be just as good.

Is weather confirmed, I thought not.

Amazons description of the game says otherwise.
Anyway good news for me because I thought it was speculation.

I think the E3 demo was all run in the easiest physics setting while the Indianapolis TT was run on a simulation setting but even so, it does look alot more forgiving than GT5p.

Besides the panels being more distorted and teared apart from the car's body, I see little to no difference regarding other videos showing damage. And I see no hints of dynamic/mechanical damage at all.

That nascar damage is impressive. I would take real time dynamic damage like that over canned, prescripted overdone damage anyday. I also noticed in the video when the NASCAR hits the wall and sparks fly they bounce off the ground and don't just vanish in thin air (@ 1:31) 👍

there is no performance damage in this demo.

It's dynamic - reverse into wall, rear bumper dents exactly where it's hit, same for the front splitter, tears where it was hit. Further hits push the panels further back etc

So it's some kind of real time damage, not pre programmed damage?

Ferrari 458 Italia vid - the road noise changes when you go onto the paved section

Of course, that's what KY and Polyphony promised us months ago :)
But I'm sure that this was not all, there will be much more spectacular crashes in the full version with rollovers and cockpit damage, I really hope that we will see some kind of trailer at gamescom that shows the final damage model.

Not sure about that. Could have sworn I heard gunshots though?

The japanese gt website has given the results of the "name the song" competition
