Is it just me or are other people no longer excited for this game? I'm not looking forward to it as much as I used to be. I'll still buy it but right now I'm looking forward to other games. It's just taken an unbeleivable amount of time that I've become bored. Everytime someone mentioned Gran Turismo 5 I used to be so excited but now it's like "oh.. yeah, big deal.. have you seen how cool Mafia II looks? or what about the up coming Medal of Honor and Call of Duty?"

You do realise Mafia II is in the PS Store and is horribly bad compared to GTA IV? Medal of Honor beta was a horrid version of Battfield 2 and the latest FPS from activision has a toy car in it.

Guess I like quality? ..... and cars :D

Just wondering. Race days online, starts of as a green track, the more use, the more it gets rubbered in? dynamic track conditions?

combine this with dynamic weather? it rains one day at laguna seca, track goes greener?

that though has made me a bit moist.

Haha, Indeed, all adds to the realism if you ask me.

I just want to now more about online. Hoping for the ability to create online championships, with total customization, even as far as organising when each race starts, from one after the other upto on a weekly basis, with free practice, qualifying etc. If for instance I organized a 10 race championship involving 16 players, with say for an example one race per week, I would love a reminder system built in that would send messages to me reminding me of the free practice, qualifying race start dates/deadlines, as well as a news/results section that may show updates on my competitors, perhaps pointing out to me their free practice/qualifying times etc. Also It would be great to be able to watch say a replay of a Pole position time of a competitor etc. Argh I am hoping for too much I know!!

Anyway, I do have a sneaky feeling that GT5's online features although may not include the many things I want, will still be th most feature rich of any racing game.

Mafia II is an amazing game. It might not have graphics as good as GTA IV but gameplay-wise, it blows GTA IV out of the water.. So much more stuff to do.
 
i guess it depends on KY, all this can easily be implemented via patches. KY understands theres going to be casual gamers that will pick this up, but also that a lot of petrol heads, and large communities of GT nuts exists, and im sure he will cater for this. i think, i can't quote here he said that he wants to make the online race weekend authentic.

It's 5am and im waiting on a 2 minute video of questionable quality about Karting in GT5 so i can rest, nuff said.

People that are true GT heads never said big deal, its always a big deal, even a 2 minute karting video.

Bathurst before Spa. TBH Monza is a name I know very well, but I don't know the track at all, GT5 will have to school me.:p
 
I knew it Monza would come to GT series.
Now ITs time to see Silverstone Hockenheim Estoril Magny Course Brands Hatch
 
Totally agree, Spa to me is the best track. How about Bathurst, i miss that track so mush one of the most technical track around.

yeah bathurst please. whilst im stoked for having monza in the game, it, like spa, silverstone, is a staple track in racing games now, i think bathurst as only been in toca 3, also autopolis would be nice

It's kind of like the Gold Coast Indy - long straights and tight chicanes.

What have Mafia II and the upcoming MoH and CoD got to do with GT5? Nobody here is saying that GT5 is the only game worth considering on PS3, but most would agree that GT5 is the most important racing game release this year.

If you really are no longer excited about it, and are not looking forward to it as much, what are you doing here on GTPlanet in the midst of Gamescom? :rolleyes:

actually are we sure the skidmarks will stick to the track the whole laps and wont disappear after a number of seconds ?

doesent this need a lot of RAM from ps3 ?
 
This is fantastic news.
- Go-karting will surely be a blast and it also gives us a chance to practice when needed.
- Finally skidmarks are included, leaving us no longer dissapointed after doing a burnout.
- "Course creator" will be a nice edition and a good way to implement our own style into the game
- Monza, overall a great track.
- More cars unveiled! Zonda, P4, Miura all amazing cars.

I just hope in the interview session today we get:
- Livery editor (which I hope is only for road cars, not racing cars)
- a dynamic weather system

All of this and GT5 will truly be one of the most epic racing games ever. :D
