I wonder(now when we have skidmarks)if we will be able to displace sand(in sandtraps) and dirt(on rally stages) now?? The rally replays will look that much better!:D

Would this include a livery editor?

“Probably not for GT5, though it’s certainly on our list of things to work on…”.
So no livery editor 0_0

EDIT: I'm cool with that...

As ever, we’ll let Translator-san have the last word:

“We need your name!”

“No you don’t. Translator-san will do just fine…”
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

That could just be due to lack of synchronization between the monitor and the camera?
Could be but imho unlikely.

I'm still confident as far as PD are concerned, although given the amount of tearing I've seen in other games I'm rather wondering if there couldn't be an issue with the PS3 (system software) making it hard if not impossible to avoid it completely...
It's easy to avoid: Enable v-sync or use triple-buffering like Uncharted 2 did.

However triple-buffering introduces additional lag. Not the way to go for a racing game.
If you use v-sync the frame rate has to be very stable, else the frame rate drops immediately to 30fps. I don't mind some tearing here and there but the amount of tearing in GT5P is distracting (at least to me).

It didn't made the cars lighter, you had to buy all three weight reductions for it though.
But it definitely changed the aerodynamics, the Speed 12 in GT2 was ~10 Kph slower with it but more drivable.

It did act as a final stage of weight reduction and added downforce (adjustable) to the car increasing grip but dropping top speed.

Finally it's getting clearer what the final game will offer, I'm absolutely fine with a missing livery editor after all those awesome, unexpected news today.

After reading this interview I think that we should stop complaining and start realising that Kaz and PD have their limits too and they did their best to create this master piece. What we get is already the biggest, prettiest and probably best racing game ever created and it looks like Kaz had a pretty hard time making that happen, so I stand in awe of him and his team and hope he gets the rest he has earned in the last five years.

''Karts were also confirmed for Gran Turismo 5, and Yamauchi revealed that originally this was a feature intended for Gran Turismo 6 – but after it leaked Polyphony decided to put it in this iteration.''

We also got confirmation that GT6 is in the works, time for a new forum section Jordan. :)

;)
This cant be serious. GT5 is not even complete yet with only 20% cars premium. They better not even be thinking of GT6. :grumpy:👎
CONCENTRATE ON FINISHING GT5!!!! Not that it matters there is now way we would ever see GT6 within 10 years. I can guarantee that.

Now I think about it... thanks to the leak, we got karting in GT5 :D

Now if they could just leak Porsche..

I personally think, all hope of Porsche is lost. Gamescom would have been the best place to announce that by far (home ground).

Excuse me, but am I the only one who's getting a bad feeling about this? They're already working on GT6, instead of concentrating on GT5 and making updates for it. I for one don't want to buy a new game every other year.

GT5 is not even released and I was hoping not to hear anything about GT6 for years. :indiff:

They are just planning, the 3D models etc. are done now and can be used in the future without problems. Yamauchi talked about GT6 already in the past by the way.

Yeah, GT6 will no doubt be added content. So day/night and weather on lots of tracks, and some more premium cars.

Same as GT4 was to GT3.

Yes, but he shouldn't. It ruins much of the hype for me.

You need to quit looking for the negative, and shift some of your focus to the positive!!:)

All these info about GT5 is really great

Meh GT56 will come in 2-3yrs from now. But they are still working hard to get everything done for GT5 obviously.

I would like to know some details about standards cars, cockpits?

Day/night cycle and weather in how many tracks? Silverstone GP track is there ?

We can choose which time of day we want to race?

Hey, I love all the news and everything. Can't wait. But still bugs me they're working on the next game instead of first releasing the current and keeping it up to date with various DLC packages. I was really hoping for GT6 to come out the next generation.

Not only Monza, but Volvos at Monza. Wow! :D

Premium Volvo's
And the slipstream is still there, maybe not as strong as GT5P but the Volvo accelerates past 200kph faster than 120kph.

Translator-san, you're an absolute legend!

And also (because I know someone from Polyphony will be reading this), thank you all very very much for creating such an amazing game. I am still in disbelief from all of this epic news. Amazing work, PD.
