Thank god.

What is this "Race Modify" feature that was in GT2? I'm glad about the 20th reminder because I didn't see/hear anything about it.

Was there a different name, so I can see what's so special about that feature?

Race Modification was my favourite feature from GT and GT2, so happy to see it back.

Dapper
The kart's outside tire (the one carrying the load and doing the actual turning) isn't locked..

call me a noob but is it possible to lock up one front wheel when there a no front brakes.
Or even with brakes for that matter.

I'm not flaming I genuinely don't know.

Monza :D

The AI is no push over, and there doesn't seem to be any stupid slipstreams.

I absolutely love Monza. One of my favorite tracks. It's very exciting to see the AI maintain a quick pace and the adjustments to the slipstream.

Hey, I love all the news and everything. Can't wait. But still bugs me they're working on the next game instead of first releasing the current and keeping it up to date with various DLC packages. I was really hoping for GT6 to come out the next generation.

Not only Monza, but Volvos at Monza. Wow! :D

I honestly believe you are looking a little to much into it.

GT5 has yet to be fully unveiled, and with the features we have seen thus far, GT5 is already head and shoulders above everything out there now and in the projected future.

Just imagine what we'll learn next month at the TGS?👍

The reflections on the front and rear window are amazing. You can see the clouds. Awesom

Must say i've missed the hire a drive for the endurance races and having to control his aggression. Now its back and better with the drivers have there own states and not just a ratio. The more you used him the better he got. If you never used him during your career andthen only started at the endurance races he would suffer...... i miss GT4:guilty:

Understeer would cause both tyres to smoke, wouldn't it.

Race Modifications in GT2, in most cases where real world race car versions of the production cars you could buy, only after purchasing weight reduction. Some where simply livery's and in GT2 not all cars had them.

:)

Practice what, driving? Why not just get in a car and a real track? From what I saw in the video, the track itself is so wide and so basic that you can almost go WOT the entire time. Not much of a practice or learning experience.

Yes, Driving practice. Karts are a different beast than cars.

Possibly. In the video, the inside tire is going around a shorter track and it is also lighter (carrying less of a load) than the outside tire. Thus, it will lock up more easily than the other tire 👍

Dapper I think you see what I'm getting at.
As you most probably know, when locking up both front wheels in prologue you still had some limited steering ability. Which off course is wrong in the real world.

Hope that's fixed in the new build.

Thanks for your reply's, hope your right mate.

Great news so far. Hoping to see a fancy new trailer dough.

Can someone who is there in Koln confirm if there is still screen tearing going on in the new demo units? Or is it fixed? Would like to read a hands on preview.

Premium Volvo's
And the slipstream is still there, maybe not as strong as GT5P but the Volvo accelerates past 200kph faster than 120kph.
Don't forget that this demo is playable only with the Arcade mod!I think that with the Gt-mode the slipstream will be less strong!

Yeah, the tuned cars from Prologue are most likely race modified.

If that's the case then we can kiss customization goodbye. The R mod in GT2 was pretty much pressing a button and your car was automatically converted, besides that there was no user involvement right? So if the tuned cars are the R mod cars, which to me sounds like they aren't, then that will surely suck.

Back from work and O.O !!! So this was all real?

Dave, get a grip.

-Realistic dust, smoke effects with wind.

-Reverse lights, skid marks.

-Weather confirmed for some tracks

-Seems Day and Night cycles will be out for many tracks, but not specified if its for all tracks.

-More tracks and cars revealed

-A and B spec modes announced with swappable drivers. AI drivers may get stressed out, and will preform poorly.

-Track creator

-Improved AI and Physics, example, one wheel locks up during braking (depending on traction and situation and laws of physics)

-Private lobbies where people can spectate and even talk with the drivers during races ( will be awesome for the spectators to become the judges to see if people play nice or dirty)

-Many cars will have Racing Modification for the body such as in GT2

-No livery editor, but Kaz has it on the list to work on, it might come in later as DLC or in GT6 in about 2 years from now.

Am I missing anything out?

Also why did not GT planet members ask the most important question?
Will PS3 be able to run 16 car race with damage, day and night cycle and with rain effects all at the same time?

Oh nnooooo.

How come he's still turning whilst locking up the front end. The laws of physics say this is impossible.
This is in prologue too.
I thought this was a brand new physics engine?

Are you kidding? If tires are really smoking from understeer then that's ridiculous. Also, I wouldn't be 100% sure these karts have no front brakes just cause the real life ones don't.

Just a quick thought. Don't know if this has already been mused over but...

In the GTP News section there's the article about the "Course Maker" in it there's a mention of two of the possible "themes" that can be selected as a basis for your own creations. One is Toscana, which we've already seen as the GT5 rally circuit in the demos so far. The other is the "Belgian High Fens" - Spa Francorchamps is situated in the Belgian High Fens. If Toscana is used as one of the themes but is actually based on an area mapped for one of PD's new circuits, then maybe the Belgian High Fens had originally been mapped for Spa? Coincidence, i think not...

And no rewind in sight:cheers:

My Estimation: Spa 99,5% surely in :)

Thank GOD!

Rewind in FM3 is a huge joke.. that alone should take it out from the SIM LIST, not to mention steering aid help that can not be turned off.

It has been noticed and commented on but I'm not thread digging through multiple pages to find it ;) You get a bonus point for a well structured argument though :D
