If that's the case then we can kiss customization goodbye. The R mod in GT2 was pretty much pressing a button and your car was automatically converted, besides that there was no user involvement right? So if the tuned cars are the R mod cars, which to me sounds like they aren't, then that will surely suck.

It won't suck... but it will be far better than GT4's customisation. :sly:

Just a quick thought. Don't know if this has already been mused over but...

In the GTP News section there's the article about the "Course Maker" in it there's a mention of two of the possible "themes" that can be selected as a basis for your own creations. One is Toscana, which we've already seen as the GT5 rally circuit in the demos so far. The other is the "Belgian High Fens" - Spa Francorchamps is situated in the Belgian High Fens. If Toscana is used as one of the themes but is actually based on an area mapped for one of PD's new circuits, then maybe the Belgian High Fens had originally been mapped for Spa? Coincidence, i think not...
Quite intresting. If Spa is included we will have a very good track list in my opinion. Spa is one of those legendary european tracks that everybody wants, along with Nürburgring, la Sarthe and Monza.

Assuming Spa will make it and that the tracks from GT4 will return the list of real life tracks will look like this.

  • Daytona International Speedway
  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
  • Infineon Raceway
  • Suzuka Circuit
  • Fuji Speedway
  • Tsukuba Circuit
  • Twin Ring Motegi
  • Circuit de la Sarthe
  • Nürburgring
  • Autodromo Nazionale Monza
  • Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps

I don't know about you guys, but that's more than enough to satisfy me. :)

Afternoon all (well in England anyway)
Right this is my first post for a long time but felt after so much good news today I may aswell post. I've tried reading all the news and new posts today so I apologise if I'm asking questions that have already been dealt with.
First of all...MONZA!!!!!! This is amazing news. One of the best and most prestigous tracks in Europe. As Monza is an F1 track and there is Sebastian Vettel and the Red Bull Racing F1 Team featured in the last official trailer, this being the E3 trailer I believe although correct me if I am wrong, does this mean that there could potentially be a Formula 1 World Championship on Gran Turismo 5? I know it won't be an official championship as there is F1 2010 coming out in September and we all know that Codies' have the Official F1 license for the next 3 years from Mr Ecclestone; But could any of you more informed people on the forum see an F1 championship being in GT5 even if it is called the "Polphony Digital World Single Seater Championship" fo instance because we already have the Ferrari F2008 on Prologue so does anyone believe there's a possibilty?

Also I cannot wait to take the 1979 Ferrari 312T4 around Spa :D Fingers crossed both the track and car are in the game!

Lastly, does anyone know if all the news we've had today is it or will there be massive news tommorrow when the press embargo is lifted at 9am?

Cheers
take it all nice and easy

^ Just need to get Silverstone into that list :)

I'm fairly confident Spa is in. I remember there was a source for the track used in GT Academy. Spa and Indianapolis were the two tracks rumoured to be used, and we never did see Spa...

A) Spa is not confirmed, but is likely, so keep your hopes up :)

B) GT has had an open wheel race series based on F1 since GT3. GT3 even had some real F1 cars, but had to be named something else due to licensing issues. It is likely we will see more than just the F2007 in GT5, I think the Red Bull involvement is a big hint at that.

C) There is supposedly more news to come tomorrow at 9am, when the embargo is lifted. But if you ask me, all the big news is already out there.

I still wonder though with the Ferrari & GT partnership, will we see the autodromo enzo e dino ferrari circuit? (Imola)

Monza :D

The AI is no push over, and there doesn't seem to be any stupid slipstreams.

It looks like the manual gear change movement is quicker now. The hand moves more quickly as if he's actually racing and not out on a Sunday drive. 👍

That would be another circuit that was (indirectly) in the GT5P weather screen.

Personally I hope we will still, in some way, be able to shift slowly for when we're in a "sunday drive" for Replays or a Photo Drive.

Is the Volvo in that demo RHD? (steering wheel on the right) It should be LHD shouldn't it? Maybe this is a sign that we can choose which side we want the steering wheel on?

Holy crap, how could I not notice? Thats odd... :odd:

All great news!

However, if I'm honest, I'm still going to feel hard done by if we don't get regular new car packs for DLC.

I would trade the track editor, the karting and probably damage, just for the number of cars to keep going up :)

.. like I said, all great news though :D

nah... why bother with switching LHD and RHD...

this can wait until GT6, along with upscaling all the Standard cars to Premiums status.

Too bad we will not get Full Livery Editor à la Forza 3 :( :( :(
But at least we will get the best Customization that we will ever seen on Gran Turismo (compared to GT1 through GT5-P)

As for the Track Editor/Modificator
I am still very much confused on the words that are coming out of Sensei's mouth...
could someone here please have the kindness to clarify this??

Guys some one can help me?
this is list of the tracks present in the Demo
* Monza
* Piazza del Campo (Karting Only)
* San Galgano
* Nurburgring (Nordschleife & GP)
* Rome
* Madrid
* R246
* Indy Speedway
* Toscana
* La Sarthe (chicaned)
* TG Test Track
S.Galgano is it a circuit or location for the photo mode??

Looks like they tweaked the rolling starts a little, you can actually go before the leader is halfway through the first corner.👍

Also, I would guess you start your career out racing carts and work from there. That is really the only place I can see them fitting into GT Mode Life(That will take some getting used to).

I'm just glad to hear the racing modification is finally making a return after 10 years. I'm no longer bummed out about having no livery editor. :)

here is what i found on cynamite http://www.cynamite.de/Gran-Turismo...iels-von-der-gamescom-Praesentation-768487/3/

and a fast translation with google "yeah sry about that" Oo

"The next feature of the track editor of Gran Turismo 5 was unveiled that is truly unique in this form. Falls from the junk box is not really complicated, but works independently totally random routes. As a player, it only determines the environment, the weather, the density curve or how tight should be the curves. In every curve can be tailored for each sector. There is also the choice of circuit or rally circuit. Self-created routes may be followed, of course, stored and shared with friends."

so in my view it is not a real "editor" more a random track with some weather etc. to choice!

Of course, it's the Karting track.
Nope!the karting track is piazza Del Campo!!
this is the list

👍 I still feel skeptical, but it is a diminishing feeling!
