The vid is actually from a movie called 'Grand Prix'. I highly recommend you buy a copy. It's an all time great 👍

And while you're at it, buy "Le Mans" with Steve McQueen. Just watched it yesterday, those cars are

Sinc you mentioned him ;) He is in "On Any Sunday" also. It is the best movie of all time, whether you are a motorcycle fan or not.

May I also suggest "Un homme et une femme" if you're into classic Ford's that is ( Mustang and GT40 ) and can stomach a French lovestory which, frankly, takes up most of that movie ( which won the 1966 Cannes festival ).;)

Anybody hear this? ''F1 2010 Graphics Surpasses Gran Turismo 5'' Read the rest of the article here.

Pathetic as usual. Obviously I disagree that any racing is graphically better then GT5(thats just never gonna happen in my book), but even you guys know that any article stating a game is better then one that hasn't even been shown yet is complete BS.

Exactly, how is it better then DiRT3 when there has been no gameplay footage, only a CGI trailer? Those commenters pretty much are right to call the author out.

Both were shown at GamesCom.
GT5's graphics will never be beaten in your book?

You missed this part:
RACECAR

This is a Game that hasn't had any game footage shown. In the Article, F1 2010 is somehow stated as better then that game.

You're replying about f1 2010 looking better than gt5, why would I think you're talking about dirt 3?
When I replied to you, the part about dirt 3 wasn't in your post.

Your not getting my post when reffering to the article(not so much the topic). I'm calling BS on it because somehow, comparing a game which has had no gameplay footage to a game thats coming out soon was done. Prehaps I could have better structured the post to convey this, but its not necessarily the GT5 vs the F1 2010 I'm calling BS on, its the fact a game thats had nothing more then a CGI trailer has been compared to a soon finished product that I question.

My avatar should answer that question :)
But thanks for the tip. I didn't know that movie, I'll look out for it.

I have a Sv650s too, K3 with Leovince Muffler :sly:

About F1 10, there are less features than GT5...

@Kobhalt: Nice, the Leos sound awesome on the SV.
I've got a full Shark exhaust, mines the 1000 though.

F1 2010 looks good. I hope it has good physics and damage and tyre wear. I also hope you can use the f duct. I will certainly by it for ÂŁ32 at shopto. However gran turismo 5 no doubt is the better game. I just hope they use the good physics from the last demo for academy. That felt really good. I also hope thy have made the force feedback stronger

I don't know about you, but at least I can immediately notice the difference when switching from 30 to 60 fps - much smoother experience overall.
I disagree. There is a huge difference (in motion) between 60fps and 30fps. Play FM3 back to back with PGR4 or NFS shift. The difference is quite noticeable.
Then you guys obviously keep a keen eye on the FPS. Most people though, more than likely would never notice. Either way, a racing game does not need to be set at 60FPS to look good. Plenty of games including F1 2010 look just fine as they are.

I think it may be more of a case of too many here becoming used to GT's graphics & assuming all racing games needing to look similar.

It's also based on a specific racing series, so obvious statement is obvious.

BoBo. View Post
GT5 has best graphics
NFS has best sounds
FORZA has best customization
SNM.

i bought forza 3 a few months ago! i have played it a lot until my buddy wanted his crapBox back :)

and.. first i was impressed of the customization (body parts)! but after a few hours in game i´ve got a "aha" effect! with most cars you dont have so much selection of body parts! and the tuning part (engine, suspension...) is definitely NOT better than in GT!!

ok forza got a good livery editor and you can choice the size of your wheels! but the "customization" is not better in my opinion!

and BOBO you forget the driving physics of the game! Forza feels more like acrade racers for me (compared to GT series)

now some haters will say "you´re a GT fanboy.." .. so.. yes i am!! :D
but i bought Forza 3!! and borrowed 2 crap Boxes from friends.. (yes 2 xboxes.. one got the ring of death!! :D ) and i have played forza a few weeks!

I have to disagree. When playing a game, I notice the difference in framerate because there is a slight input lag. Same with First Person shooters, same with any game running in real time really.

When watching replays, it looks perfectly fine. Movies at the cinema run at 24fps (Or thereabouts) and you don't notice it there either. You don't tend to notice it in replays, because it looks just the same as 60fps.

But when playing, you do notice.

It would be an endurance race but it would make it more accessible for people like myself who don't have 24hours to sit in front of a PS3 all at once. I just feel it would be a feature that many people, students like myself; people in full time employment and family men and women could take advantage of because we all want to do the races but don't physically have that much time to commit to one race at a time in one sitting.
I believe that "Le Mans 24 Heures" on the PS2 had the feature didn't it?

A game pause will do just fine for me if we cannot save during endurance races. Just make sure you have a PS3 Slim and the power bill won't go berserk.

I think since GT5.prologue and to what we have seen of GT5, They greatly increased the overall contrast, and the game's slightly more saturated. GT5 doesn't really seem 'Like' real life, but, a fantasy life (No problems with that, by all means, its a videogame). Especially when comparing real life tracks with GT5 tracks you notice the grass is always the perfect shade of healthy green, but in real life, thats rarely the case. Although seismica talked about adjusting contrast on your t.v. manually, I still think this is one of the things they need to improve in the game itself. While GT4 was a very "Dark" looking game, compared to next gen titles, The overall colours, shades for enviroments seemed much more realistic. GT5 certainly gets the colours right when it comes to the car manufacturer paints, however, I can't say the game looks realistic (Graphics solve that) with other colours, just pretty. The game is great to look at, and you can never go bored with how colourful it is, But upon release I hope they just slightly tone it down. GT5 made a paradise, not reality, but Im happy with that! However, Its hard to look at "GT5 vs. Real life comparison shots" and not instantly know that, it isn't near real life, and nothing never will.

@Seismica, McLaren

Didn't all previous GT games run at 60fps? It's a good thing Kaz\PD are pushing it to stay close to 60 rather then lock it at 30 to achieve better "visuals" or whatever Criterion is aiming to achieve with the new NFS.

Look at the Ace Combat series, from 60 to 30 and it was horrible, you could feel it :(

As someone who cant tell the difference between 30 and 60fps i would be quite happy if PD went to 30fps and locked the v-synch and all the graphical bells and whistles.

It's most hilarious post i have ever read.

You don't see diffrence between 30 vs 60 fps but you do see vsync problems in recent or old builds of GT5/GT5Prologue...

VSYNC never was a problem neither in GT5 Prologue nor GT5 recent builds.

It's not uncharted 1 case where 40% of picture was unsynced (still looked v good):yuck:

Where I'm at we get a lot of lighting storms, the power goes out frequently, hate to be 12 hours in a race, when it goes out. Battery backup won't carry you the remaining 12 hours.

The ability to save allows you to pick up where you left off. :)

Again, you must have a keen eye for it b/c most people don't & can't tell the difference right away or at all.

But my point still stands. A racing game does not need to be locked in at 60FPS to look good unlike whomever it was that said all racing games should be 60FPS. F1 2010 looks pretty good for a 30FPS game, esp. when it's raining during gameplay.

You must have misread, I never said I saw any tearing.

Given a choice between 60 fps with screen tear and 30 with none, I'd have to go 30.
That being said however, I can notice the difference. Fight night 3 then 4 is a good example.
Unfortunately I'm used to 60 at the moment.
F1 is a day one for me anyhow.
Been along time for some quality racers then they all come at the same time lol.

There's nothing wrong with a racing game running at 30FPS. Most people, probably including yourself, will never notice the difference until they purposely start looking for the differences.

Are you kidding?Don't start it please don't start it!!!
It's most oblivious difference in the world.I can EASELY tell difference between 50 and 60 fps, with or without motion blur and tell you how much motion blur they used to smooth out motion and it can do anyone who somewhat working with digital video.
Do you know that there is GT5 Prologue version that runs 240fps on special LCD screen.Don't you think PD would make 240fps version when even 30fps is enough?Ok I'm trying to stop...

I wish youtube allowed 60fps uploading...in fact the only site I know of that streams 60fps is gamersyde.

Second is TAXIGAMER. ;)

And YOUTUBE allowed to upload 60fps videos but only at 240p resolution.

60fps is definitely the sweet spot for racing games, I can deal with some screen tearing (although, if they can lock it, all the better), but I'd take a stable 60fps over a stable 30fps just to have it V-Synched.

I really wish it wasn't an issue though and it would be nice if every game was 1080p, 60fps and VSynch, but, this is console gaming and I accept those limitations.

GT5 lookd good to me so I'm not going to break down why but NFS shift was horrrible sometimes the frame rate would drop and lag so badly that it would effect the lap time by up to 14 seconds.

Any videos of that GT5p build running at 240fps? I'd love to see that.

Games running at 30fps look like games...but when you run something as high as 240fps...with the level of detail GT5 has...it surely must look like you're just watching the car in person.

There is no doubt games look good enough at 30fps, the problem is the feel of it, 60fps feels much more direct.

Funny you say that because I wasn't really keen on telling the difference frame rate and things until I played GT5P for the first time and that was even before I found out what frate rate was. Even then, I noticed it was somehow "faster" then F1CE, NASCAR 09 and GRID which were the only PS3 racing games I had at the time. Not to say you are wrong, just sharing my personal experiance first learning and seeing frame rate differences.
