GT5 NASCAR 2011 update/DLC?

I really really don't see it happening. I'm suprised they are already in there and only one and a half countries actually give a crap about NASCAR (US and Canada). GT5 is global. So no there won't be NASCAR dlc

Im from Australia and I give a crap about NASCAR. In 2009 I went and saw the Australian F1 and in 2010 I went to Daytona and the NASCAR, I think was more exciting.
I don't care if you or anyone disagrees or agrees because it's my opinion.

Ok Nascar is it's own entity.Same as F1,which I dislike.My opinion.Your opinion.We could discuss pro's and con's of any racing series for days.Put a Dodge in the game,give them a new track and the Nascar crowd will be happy.I would love to see some Aussie tracks ,maybe Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve or Mosport from Canada.Add some old Trans Am or old GT cars from the 70's.

NASCAR is a race series that I would like to see more accurateness if it could. Maybe instead of Indy, Laguna Seca, and Daytona, along with the fake GVS and HSR, could we get a real race series? Surely, NASCAR isn't the best motorsports. Nor is F1, LMS, V8 Supercars, et cetera. Everyone enjoys there own series. America enjoys NASCAR. The stereotype of a bunch of hicks isn't true, but surely there are some that do watch. I'm a smart guy who likes cars. I don't live in a trailer, yet I used to be a huge NASCAR fan. Yes, it's kind of like circles.

Now that my straightforward rant about how no race series qualifies to be better is over, I'll say I don't see it coming. I'd rather see road cars before race cars. And that's what I expect to see, with the only 2 cars to get any announcement to ever come in the game being the Toyota FT-86 II and the BMW 1 Series M Coupe.

@GT_Prologue5 - It's really too bad that Infineon wasn't included in the GT5 track list. It's my favorite NASCAR road course. I love that hill that comes after the start/finish line and Sonoma is wine country! Hardly rednecks!

if they update the NASCARs ill be pissed, what they need to do first is bring in a premium CTS-V wagon with the stick shift as well as other glaring omissions from the game (like a proper Mustang.. as my username implies im a Camaro fan and even I think the Mustang needs a fair fight)... More (short) NASCAR tracks rather than more NASCAR cars. Bristol through to Las Vegas, with Daytona already being there would give a great variance for the skilled NASCAR racers.

Yes, it does take skill to race NASCAR properly.

I am doubtful that we will see a NASCAR update before we get updates to premium for standards or even just more cars/tracks added in DLC. If they were doing a lot of that kind of thing then I would say it was a possibility. But as of now I am seeing very little in the way up updates or additions to content.

I've managed to watch at least 3 NASCAR events and not one ALMS or Rolex Grand Am race this year. Seems like I can never find any other race series on TV.

ALMS now has a contract with ESPN and all the races are on ESPN3.com in full with qualifying coverage as well, and they remain up for 3 weeks. When I watched Long Beach over the weekend they still had Sebring up as well.

While I find ovals boring as hell, I actually enjoy driving the cars around road courses

I've never had more fun than lapping a 1.5ton 860hp Stock Car around Nurburgring in 6:12.646 with all the aids off

That being said, I don't see any major updates to them, since the cars will remain essentially the same. All I can expect is Infineon Raceway; and if PD still have some common sense left: more realistic racing regulations and a downtoned slipstream effect.

If your going to appease the Mods don't get the good ole boys going.Post something that is at least accurate.Nascar has changed dramatically in the last 3 years.They only ran 3 types of cars 15 years ago.

I don't own NASCAR the Game 2011, but from screen shots, they don't even have it 100% correct. The official NASCAR game still has Kurt Busch driving the blue 2 Miller car, but he is of coarse in the 22 Shell car this year, and he isn't the only mistake that I have seen in the lineup for the game.

So it is much easier to view NASCAR on a regular basis. I would love to catch more ALMS (one of my fav series) or Grand Am, or FIA, or F1. The fact is they just aren't very popular in the US. And even though the US is only "a small drop in the bucket" it is a very wealthy and influential drop by most standards and most companies realize it. That is why many companies in an effort to make money cater very much to the US.

Seeing as how a muscle car has been one of the few DLC promotions we have had it is no far stretch of the imagination to think that PD may have more NASCAR (be it tracks or cars) for us in the future.

ESPN 3 does not require cable/satellite. It is through your ISP. If you have broadband and no ESPN3 access call your Internet provider. And they provide live coverage of the full race and qualifying, more than Speed ever gave it.

And I get fairly stable HD streams on a 2mbps connection (using my XBOX on a wired connection). The signal stability is far better than I get with Netflix. The bigger issue for me is that ALMS races are on Saturday into the evenings, when there is peak usage on the network. If I watch the replay midday on Sunday I get a constant HD stream without any stability issues.

So it is much easier to view NASCAR on a regular basis.

This is true, but you have to take into account the fact that NASCAR races aren't much longer than a football game and so are more easily fit into TV schedules than endurance races.

I believe that accounts for a large amount of their popularity. I know plenty of friends that are NASCAR fans and love other series as well, but NASCAR is the only one that is on almost every week and has enough events that almost no matter where you live you can easily get to see one live if you want.

Despite ALMS only doing a handful of races a year and that most fans will have to drive hours, or fly, to see one the Petit Le Mans race still pulls in over near or above 100,000 in attendance. And they report three times the viewership for Sebring this year vs last.

LOL hey foolkiller i don't think we are even arguing. Aside from a small error (cable/satellite vs ISP issue) we're pretty much in agreement. I love ALMS and am happy that it is still available in some capacity. It's better than nothing. As far as watching live online(which according to you is another thing i'm wrong on) though I have not been able to catch one live yet but the replays I have saw where far inferior to my HDtv.

NASCAR doesn't have an exclusive deal, currently there are 4 games that use the license: iRacing, GT5, Days of Thunder(A crappy PSN game) and NASCAR The Game 2011.

Well 2 out of 4 are pretty good. You can add NASCAR the Game to the crappy list also. That game is a $65.00 paperweight.What a terrible game and shame on Eutechnyx for rushing out something that bad.

Well we don't know if PD has acknowdledge that GT5 has faults, or if PD is even aware of the faults because PD doesn't talk tu us. (I'm not referring to the glitchy tracks but prinziple game flaws)

So for all we know PD could be absolutely oblivious to all the flaws or they could be frantically trying to make a huge update which improves the spec events and stops the need to grind, as well as fixing the arcade mode and tons of other stuff.

Are you serious? You must be doing offline racing because I tried it at my friends 2 days ago and it was the worst online racing I have ever played.I played Nascar 2003 on my PC for years which was the benchmark until iRacing.GT5 is way superior to Nascar 2011.They acknowledged they released a piece of junk so they could hop on the Nascar bandwagon.Go to their website and look at the complaints.Burned out wheels for the 360 fans,thats great at $200 bucks.Can't join rooms,crashing at the start of races,I could go on but I won't.As much as I like Nascar that game couldn't hold GT5's jockstrap.Why do you think people are asking for DLC on here because that game is good??
